Anything can happen under the cover of darkness.

Kell Roberts has walked the thin line between life and death for so long that it now feels like home. He is a soldier, a survivor, and a loner. Still, Kell cannot turn his back on the beautiful woman caught in his firefight against the drug lords of Mexico. She says her name is Teddie, but Kell senses there’s much more to h

"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in."
- by Morris "Morrie" Schwartz, American sociology professor and author –

3 1/2 stars. Darn, I really want 1/2 stars!

This sentence outlines everything so perfectly - how I feel about this book:
"And so she walked around Riley’s house – it was quite modern, without a lot of personal photographs at all, like a beautiful shell, and Teddie could see why Riley no longer spent time here."

Gosh, I am so sorry to admi
Without going into the details(which will require a lot of recap since we get many characters from the other books joining in), this one worked for me way more than Mace's book, maybe because I went in with low expectation or I don't know for whatever reason.

Kell and Teddie worked well for me but one thing I have noticed is that Tyler always follows a formula in her books, on the run, a secondary romance introduced and not totally completed like with Reid and an array of old character thrown in

This book was really very good. It was destined to 5 stars but the two villains of the story decided to be wetpants instead and I downgraded my review.

Really the suspense was good and all the characters were strong and very likable people. But in the end, the villains were not what I expected them to be (being their pasts and so on). What a pity that anti-climatic ending :(

Good book with lots of action. Kell and his friend Reid are in Mexico on a black ops mission to take out a drug cartel leader. Just as they are ready to do so, a woman comes between them and their target. They take her captive until they can complete their mission, then plan to let her go. That is, until they hear her story.

Teddie has been in witness protection since she witnessed her father, stepmother and two half sisters get murdered. Disgusted with the lack of progress in solving their murde

When he finally pulled back, there was a predator’s gleam in his eye. He looked so damned…satisfied. So very in charge, and she wanted to slap him and kiss him at the same time.

Kell and Reid are best friends, both with tragic, angsty pasts (I love angst!). They grew up in foster care, both ending up there for very different reasons, but both of them were in full on survival mode as teens. They became best friends fast and have been that

Kell Roberts is a soldier that knows how to get into and out of tight spots. It is place he has known for a very long time and that has kept as a loner as he feels that is the safest for everyone around him. On his latest mission one thing he doesn’t count on is a woman getting caught in his firefight with a Mexican drug lord. Now is he finding himself drawn to Teddie even though he knows there is a lot more to her story than she is telling him. Now he is going t

Welcome to the high-stakes, fast-paced world of the Shadow Force! Ms. Tyler’s fourth installment is an exciting suspense mystery with multiple layers that all feed into one fantastic ride!

The story picks up not long after “band of brothers” that compromise “Shadow Force” (some current and some ex-military) are finally reunited in upstate New York. Their adventures thus far were chronicled in the first three books; however, you could easily pic

The "Force" continues with all the right "Moves."

Stephanie Tyler continues her "Shadow Force" series with a powerful story of friendship and love. Kell and Reid have shared a special bond since they were teenagers. This story emphasizes just how far they'll each go to protect and support the other. I also enjoyed the introduction of Teddie into the mix. She intrigued me and it was fun to watch as Kell took the plunge into his HEA. Of course, his best friend Reid was ever faithful in pushing Kell

I generally don't like writing short reviews, but for the life of me I don't know what to say about Night Moves other then, it was typical Stephanie Tyler.... Which basically means, it was a great book!
Plenty of action, characters (main & secondary) that grabbed my attention, and a well developed, intricate plot.

There was a lot of story, and it kept moving at a good pace, and there's a side plot featuring the main secondary characters that (i think/hope) sets up the next book, that makes me

Night Moves is a part of the Shadow Force series, and I loved this one from the beginning. The prologue did a beautiful job of showing Kell and Reid's lives before the military and how their friendship developed in to the lifelong friendship they have today. The love story with Kell and Teddie wasn't an in your face romance, and I thought the balance of romance and suspense was right on. I think my favorite part was when Reid announced that since Teddie belonged to Kell, she was to be protected ...more
This was Kell's story and it was pretty darn good. The love scenes were hot! I thought that he and Teddie made a good couple. I got wrapped up in Reid and Greir, but I saw on ST's website that it will be sometime in 2013 before we get their story...bummer. I don't think we have heard the last of Cyrstal...I don't know how I feel about him. Is the a possible bad guy that gets redemption in his own book? He still sounded pretty hot from the description and I think there is a core of honor in him s ...more

From the beginning, this book kept my attention. Kell was likeable, and I immediately became attached to him as the lead character. Reed was also likeable from the start. Teddie, not so much; however, over time, she grew on me. I like when characters have to grow on you in the way Teddie did. I think she grew up over the course of the novel and she learned to trust again. It was kind of wonderful to witness. Kell grew in many ways with the help of his woman. I’m not sure if I like that theme or ...more

“Are you…the good guys?”
Teddie’s question early in the story is a good one to keep in mind as the plot twists and turns in this suspense full of military, government employed, and free-lance black operatives.
The action opens with an operation against a Mexican drug cartel. Additional complications pull in international kidnapping, murder, the positive and negative aspects of witness protection and personal revenge as the action moves within the primary settings of Mexico, Texas, and Florida. Te

It was good but i felt like she kinda just shoved Kell & Teddie together and it just didn't really mesh that well for most of the book , I love Kell but i felt like his story wasn't up to snuff .
I also love Reid but again she didn't really give him much of a story and it just felt like she was trying to force 2 stoires into one book and it didn't really fit that well . i still love the series and i hope if there is another book that it will be better then this one , i hope we find out how Re

I can't say this enough.... I LOVE this series! Stephanie Tyler knows how to write sexy men and women as strong capable warriors and still give them a soft side. This book is by far my favorite in the series, I've been super excited to read Kell's story and man was it good. The action and suspense was terrific, the sex was super hot and these two, Kell and Teddie, were great characters. She always gives the perfect amount of background information without overloading the reader with it.

Loved it, just loved it. The entire series has been a really great action packed suspenseful read that'll keep you reading til the wee hours. If I have a negative say about this series, is that it takes a while to get the bond with the characters as we don't have any idea of the Shadow Force's team and their own uniqe personality until their story is being told, which makes it seem like these books could be a stand alone read. A great example is with Cindy Gerard's Black Op series. There's no do ...more

I almost don’t know where to start with this one. I’m a huge Tyler fan, I love her books and the stuff she writes with Larissa Ione under the Sydney Croft pen name. But this book didn’t live up to my Stephanie Tyler standards.

Kell is in a bad place, emotionally and physically, when he first meets Teddie. And although he knows that she is lying and keeping secr

Night Moves is a romantic suspense novel by Stephanie Tyler. It is the fourth book in the Shadow Force series.

It took me way too long to read this book. I usually chew through novels, especially romance novels. Many parts were just plain boring. It picked up a little bit toward the end, but a lot of it seemed either implausible or "done before."

Kell Roberts and Teddie Lassiter are our main couple for this book (although there is another couple that Tyler concentrates on--very typical of the aut

I love these books for what they are. Very strong women who still need the help of very strong hunky Special Force's guys. They have served or are serving in the military and retire into they own big hunky guy private sector businesses. They are still very hot romance novels though it doesn't bother me so much. The circumstances for their meeting in this instance is a real hoot and totally unbelievable, but I loved it anyway. I like Stephanie's books, not a lot of the old fashioned romance love ...more

Night moves is better romantically than In the Air Tonight was, at least for me. However, that being said, I didn't find a real connection between Teddie and Kell. I think Stephanie Tyler excels at writing suspense and action, fight sequences and red herrings, but the last few books I've read have left me not feeling the love between the hero and heroine of the story.

So saying that, I found I enjoyed the glimpses we got of Reid and Grier. I look forward to their book.

This book is the fourth in a series and each book has plenty of action from the start to finish. This was Kell and Teddie's book, but Reid plays a big part in it also and sets his book up as well. Kell and Teddie meet by running in to each other, literally, during an op in Mexico. What follows is the three of them running for their lives from two different groups. Without trying to give too much of the plot away, I'll say the chases were the most exciting part as I didn't really feel that much b ...more

Love this series and Kell and Reid were such an angst-ridden wonderful surprise. I love how Tyler creates these groups that have heart-tugging histories and intriguing plotlines (first the brothers in the Hard to Hold/ Navy Seals Trilogy and now in ShadowForce). I thought this book was better than the last, at least the action in it was more interesting. The romance part so so, but I think that was more me than anything. I loved how this book showed how Kell and Reid were such good friends and how they each would do anything for the other.

The addition of Crystal as the big bad was weird to me. He had such a beef with Dylan that the ending has me scratching my head. I know (view spoiler)

I didn't really enjoy the primary relationship in this book, I didn't think it was developed well enough. Kell & Teddy seemed to jump into bed and fall in love based on sex; I didn't really see any other reason why they liked each other. Teddy seemed like kind of a whiny, weak heroine to me so that was probably a big part of the problem. The plot on this one was also kind of convoluted by the end. While this was my least favorite in the Shadow Force series, I enjoyed the secondary relationsh ...more
