I really loved the stories but I am seriously disappointed in the flip-flopping. I have finished and don't really feel like I know any character all that well. I barely even remember their names. Quick and dirty stories. This book easily could have been 3x the size and maybe should have. Perhaps the story continues in the second book. However, if it's the same as the first, I probably won't invest my time to read the third.
The story jumps from one group to another without a common thread tying them together. If there is no connection between the groups in the next book I think I may pass on the third. It's a little too disorganized for my tastes.
Some good characters and as well as the horror, there was some pretty funny black humour. This is by no means a comedy book tho. Really enjoyed one chapters in particular which centered around a IT support worker. I think he may have been shauns older brother 'Dave of the Dead'. It obviously was strongly influenced by the film. The only down side was there was no real storyline other than there's been a zombie outbreak. Saying that it does end setting the scene for book 2.
As with others members i enjoyed the book, i wish there was more on bruce and his aussie mates, but i really liked the boys who had read "how too survive a zombie outbreak. I also loved the iraq section and the IT GUYS. They were they were the best. hopefully a better and longer second book with the storylines coming together
A really good book full of zombies..... Small novellas all adding up to a whole, something to get your teeth into!
Not much substance, even for a zombie book, we'll need to see how the next two books in the series pan out...
