This book sucked the big cheese. I'm am in no way a prude but it's a little hard to take your heroine seriously when she is running around naked the ENTIRE book. How awkward. Esp. when she's constantly fighting gladiator style. The whole time I thought; "well, I guess it's a good thing she doesn't have balls or a hairy ass crack."

I've read mixed reviews on this series but I did like this book. Riley is part of the team investigating genetic experiments being carried out on shifters and Riley manages to get a job inside the offender's mansion as a fighter-entertainment for rich lunatics to enjoy watching. I can't quite put my finger on what makes me enjoy the series more than many other 5+ book urban fantasy series out there, but there is something good at work here. I enjoyed Tempting Evil immensely, and I'm glad I read it. This novel picks up right where the last one left off. Riley is training to be a guardian (whether she likes it or not) so that she can infiltrate the lair of the man behind the labs and killings mentioned in the previous novels. Just as Riley is accepting that her life is leading her into being a guardian, she is thrust into her first undercover operations. Although her need to see this through is what has kept her going these past months, she may not be ready for what she discovers.

This book, actually this series is not for everyone. The subject matter dealt with can be offensive to anyone that cannot put aside their own personal feeling about sex and using ones body to achieve their goals. This particular book has scenes of rape and hand to hand combat death matches. It's not all about romance, rainbows and unicorns. Well, well, well... I can honestly say that I am really enjoying this series. Riley is a character unlike any other that I've read in that she's probably the most promiscuous. But that is a human term and you can't really call a wolf promiscuous, can you? Regardless of her "style", she's a force to be reckoned with. I hated putting this book down, at timeS it was so charged with tension. I think this series just gets better even if it is more blood thirsty.

It's hard to like a book when you don't really like the main character: Riley Jenson. All she seems to do (from the 1st book all the way through the 4th book - Dangerous Games) is complain, complain, and COMPLAIN about how she doesn't want to be a Guardian, and how she thinks her lover Quinn is too narrow-minded when he doesn't want her to have sex indiscrimmiantly. As with all the the books in the series, I'm not terribly fond of the take on werewolf sexual appetite this author seems to love. I don't really enjoy novels in which sex is meaningless and overabundant. It sort of takes away from the novel when every other page is a werewolf shagging another. I want story, not sex. If sex was my only gain, I'd read straight erotica, not paranormal romance.

This book is in sorts an end to the whole cross breeding villains. Riley has finally gotten Guardian training, and the plan to take out Deshon Starr and the entire cartel is in motion.

Oh! Thank heavens! This books seems to be the end of the lab breeding back story--I liked it but there is only so much you can say and only so much mystery while still keeping it interesting for the reader. I was thrilled with the new developments in this book.

I was somewhat disappoibnted with the end. I am glad that Starr is dead and that crime organization is brought down.
Howeve I was disappointed with the last scene of this book, scene where Riley shoots Starr. That was it, there was barrely 2 page fihgt and than she Shots Starr while he is watching her fight one of his man.

I thought this was a pretty good book in the Riley Jenson series. It ended the story arc of the genetic labratories which I was happy about because I thought that this story line was running it's course and needed to end soon. I didn't enjoy Tempting Evil quite as much as the previous books in the series. Either there was too much going on in my every day life, or the story just didn't suck me in like the others. It took me a long time to finish which is unusual for me. The story wasn't gripping until it was almost over, but there was a lot of plot building and a secret was revealed that I would have love to learn more about. It's not as good as the other four series that she's written but I still enjoy it. It is very fast paced and full of action with a great lead character. This is the third in a series, but the first book I've read in the series. The biggest plus for me was that I didn't feel like I was missing a whole lot of information. This was a complete story on its own.
Being an ARC, there were a few minor errors that I hope were caught and fixed before the final copy. None of those errors really detracted from the entertaining story.
