This book sucked the big cheese. I'm am in no way a prude but it's a little hard to take your heroine seriously when she is running around naked the ENTIRE book. How awkward. Esp. when she's constantly fighting gladiator style. The whole time I thought; "well, I guess it's a good thing she doesn't have balls or a hairy ass crack."

Let's see... Riley is raped, beaten, abused, oh yeah & the best yet....going to have naked mud wrestling as an "arena whore" for her arch nemesis. And n...more

Tempting Evil is pretty morbid. I loved it!

Infiltrating the grounds as whores and arena fighters, toys for the crossbred freaks with interesting body part accessories, and sexual sadists who apparently enjoy raping women not only when they're screaming in fear and pain, but also as they are knocked out unconscious.

It's time! Riley and Rhoan, along with the other sexy studs and vampires, receive enough intel that they are ready to wiggle into the completely screwed world of a psychohomosexual who...more

Every time I read these books I can't help but fall inlove with them again. They are truly amazing and everything I could want in a novel. I mean, werewolfs, vampires and sex all in the same book? It's every womens fantasy on print...

I've read mixed reviews on this series but I did like this book. Riley is part of the team investigating genetic experiments being carried out on shifters and Riley manages to get a job inside the offender's mansion as a fighter-entertainment for rich lunatics to enjoy watching. Once inside Riley is trying to find the main labs through psychic exploration of her guards minds during sex, locate a child hostage and help a race of creatures to escape, all without raising suspicion. But her fellow f...more

Holy crap.

Keri Arthur is awesome. I've never hated a villain more. And loved a heroine as much as Riley. Well maybe that's debateable.

Either way, this is an unforgettable series.

I was pleasantly surprised that as well as I liked the previous series entry, I enjoyed this one much more. Riley and company are growing on me. This time out Riley & Rhoan are attempting to beard the lion in his den as they each go undercover to capture Deshon Starr as his activities have made life for the super-naturals quite unbearable. As much as the buildup has been I thought Starr could not possibly live up to the evil, but he was evil enough. Resolution of the Starr storyline hopefull...more

Oh! Thank heavens! This books seems to be the end of the lab breeding back story--I liked it but there is only so much you can say and only so much mystery while still keeping it interesting for the reader. I was thrilled with the new developments in this book.

Without giving too much away, Riley goes undercover into Starr's "compound" as part of the entertainment for the men serving Starr--there is a little more to it that meets the eye. I thought she was just going in as, well...a prostitute--n...more

Riley Jenson, you kick butt!

I usually find that most series that end up as my favorites, it’s usually book 3 that seems to be the magic number. And that is once again the case with Riley Jenson. I really enjoyed book 1 and 2, but book 3 just lifted this series onto my favorite’s shelf.

I love the paranormal world Riley lives in. It’s different and unique. The promiscuity of the wolves and how that behavior is acceptable in their society makes me look at Riley’s actions a little differently. I l...more
A fun sort of read about a dhampir with an outrageous sex drive.
I love how it is set in Melbourne, Australia (my home town), and the writing quality is great. It never seems to get too clunky; except in the really drawn out sex scenes.
Riley, a Guardian, is continuing a quest to stop a madman from creating a mutant army. Although kicking some serious butt she beds just about every male character in the story.
What I did notice with Arthur's story line is that if:
a) A woman is semi naked, and
b) The...more

Recommends it for: not for the faint of heart
This book, actually this series is not for everyone. The subject matter dealt with can be offensive to anyone that cannot put aside their own personal feeling about sex and using ones body to achieve their goals. This particular book has scenes of rape and hand to hand combat death matches. It's not all about romance, rainbows and unicorns. Although some of the lab born creatures may well be part unicorn, who knows? Anyway, if you're squeamish about nudity, women's lib, sex, rape, humanoid type...more
I can't quite put my finger on what makes me enjoy the series more than many other 5+ book urban fantasy series out there, but there is something good at work here. I enjoyed Tempting Evil immensely, and I'm glad I read it. This novel picks up right where the last one left off. Riley is training to be a guardian (whether she likes it or not) so that she can infiltrate the lair of the man behind the labs and killings mentioned in the previous novels. The action and suspense don't let up the entir...more

This took a while for me to get through, in part because for a few weeks there I had lost my taste for reading. But the other night I picked it back up and relished it once again, glad to be back with this series. For the most part.

The story is largely phenomenal. I'm glad we've wrapped up the genetic story line. Perhaps it's naive of me, but I absolutely did not expect such an abrupt ending. This is not a criticism of it because I think it fi...more
This book is in sorts an end to the whole cross breeding villains. Riley has finally gotten Guardian training, and the plan to take out Deshon Starr and the entire cartel is in motion.

Riley goes into Starr's compound as one of this hired fighters for entertainment and works her magic at getting information and at the same time saving a couple of people on the way. There's Kade, Rhoan and Quinn at the compound with her. Its a bit tiring, the number of people she sleeps with in this book. Mostly...more

Riley Jenson is part werewolf and part vampire that works for the Directorate governing supernatural world. Riley's boss Jack Hunter wants her to be Guardian something Riley really doesn't want to do but doesn't really have a choice in the matter. Thanks to Deshon Starr for Riley taking Guardian training over the past six months. Rhoan, is Riley's packmate and twin brother, who is doing most of Riley's offensive and defensive training before she takes on Gauntier in a fight. Riley doesn't want t...more
Riley has taken the final step and become a fully fledged Guardian for the Directorate of Other Races, she still isn't sure that it is for the best but she wants to be part of the team that takes down Deshon Starr. Her first mission isn't going to be easy - it is up to her to infiltrate Deshon's stronghold and try to discover where his secret labs are hidden so that the DOR can destroy them. While deep undercover she is going to have to be wary about who she trusts but she will also find friends...more
Notes while currently reading :

I'm really having trouble with Riley, I just want to slap her and put some good sense in her head ! I liked the first book of the series, strong-willed heroin, hot vamp, genetic manipulations, suspense and all. And sex. But she's getting whiny, complains all the time, rants at others and wonders why she has trouble making friends (duh !).
At the point I've reached, she's having sex with a horse-shifter in front of her jealous possessive vampire lover. In the middle...more
Come gongolo.

Half-werewolf, half-vampire, Riley Jenson is on the case of madman-scientist Deshon Starr in this third book that wraps up the initial trilogy, plot-wise. Her personal life is less well organised than the mission, with old and new lovers vying for her attention.

She will have to infiltrate Starr's compound to discover not only what he's working on, but who he's been disguising himself as over the years. The truth will be a surprise to everyone.

The first three books in this series are intense, ex...more

Loving this series. Riley & the Directorate close in on Starr and the story just takes off. My favorite horse shifter and vampire are back. I think this book may have one of the hottest sex scenes in the series so far(view spoiler). One of my favorite books in the series. I really can't believe how long it took me to get around to this series....totally my loss. First Read 6/28/12-6/30/12.

Second read 1/8/14-1/11/14

Ok, so how much fun can you have reading when the kick-a.. heroine is naked for most of the book. I did enjoy Riley learning new psi abilities. She gets into Starr’s mansion and helps rescue a child and a race of creatures and takes out the leader.

This book was fast paced with lots of interesting twists and turns. Of course volumes of sexual escapades sprinkled throughout did not lessen the overall storyline’s excitement.

This is really a fun series for open-minded adults, and I surely liked it.
Tempting Evil turns out to be Keri Arthur tempting fate. The story has definitely run its course now. Oh no, I don't mean that this is the end of Riley Jenson. Not at all, there are several more books in the series. However, I don't plan to go anywhere near them if I can avoid it. The Directorate for Other Races finally manages to infiltrate the super secret gene lab that's been spending four decades developing a perfect soldier out of various species, human and otherwise. Riley gets her big bre...more

Riley and her twin Rhoan are sparring in the Directorate arena. She knows Rhoan is not as rough on her as he could be, but she is getting pretty bruised up anyway. She just wants it to end so she can make her date with her werewolf boyfriend Kellan. When Jack the Director says they can stop, Rhoan heads for the showers. Then Gautier enters and she has to fight him. She knows he is a double agent and a vampire. She hopes Jack can stop the fight before she dies. He does, but she is more beaten up...more
c2007: FWFTB: rules, mission, gene-pool, werewolf, trap. IMHO this was a better book than the first one. The plot seemed to be more coherent and was a lot darker. Riley has kept in character with the relationship between her and Quinn still more or less unresolved. I don't think any other characters really developed much with only brief cameos from some of the lesser characters in the early book. Definitely recommended. 'Even the very old can try to change if we see something worth changing for...more

Since I've been eating my way through these novels this is a review of book 1-4 of the Riley Jenson series. I'll avoid going into details of the plots and just highlight my observations.

I'm no prude but in the first novel there is such a thing as too much horizontal boogieing. This book was dripping with it yet it barely lasted more than a page or two each time. It was a real shame because there were sparks of excellence in parts of the world building that were eclipsed under the flimsy erotica...more

This series has always been a bit cheesy and silly, but the plot was interesting enough to keep me going. With book 3, the balance tips enough that I'm not going to continue with any of the books. In books 1 and 2 Riley spent a lot of time running around in very little. In Tempting Evil, she spends almost the entire book running around completely naked. I'm getting uncomfortable with how lightly rape is treated in these books as well. Yes, Riley explains (every time) that as a werewolf who needs...more
Okay this is the third book in this series and I still don't understand Quinn. What is the deal with him????Riley is still kicking butt(even if she did it naked throughout the whole book).Rhoan is still delicious and Jack is still trying to make Riley a Guardian.Kade made a few appearances but not Kellan.Riley's quest for a soul mate is still on going though.Guess I'll just have to keep reading to find out who she ends up with.*sigh*

PLEASE PLEASE START WARNING READERS ABOUT CONTENT!!! I DONT CARE IF ITS A ONE WORD RAPE, USE A CONTENT WARNING AND LET READERS KNOW AHEAD OF TIME!!! So I got excited as I started reading this installment of the Riley Jenson series. I started seeing more character depth and a lot more exciting action and then I hit that darn "deep down ache" phrase again and the stomach bile started churning. I no longer dislike Riley, I've come to term...more

Riley and the Directorate are ready to take out the madman responsible for the clones, the crossbreeding, and Misha's death.

Unfortunately the only way to get onto the estate where he's hiding out as a mob man is to infiltrate as a type of female gladiator. Meanwhile she's developing the power to sense the dead. And they aren't happy.

The sex scenes really don't bother me in this book. Riley isn't human and doesn't look at sex the same way we do... it's just part of the job. Although this does se...more

I did enjoy this book but some parts of it went right thru me and the storyline started to bore me a little but the ending of this book was great took a nice little twist that got me interested again, hopefully the next book will start a new story.
Riley to me has lost her spark from the first book and i am goin to take a break from these for abit and then come back to them
