Recommends it for: someone taking a long bath
Shelves: trashy-novels
"Whatcha reading?"
"A trashy mystery-romance about a vampire-werewolf."
"How trashy?"
"Well, I'm on page 50, and she's already had sex with a horse. Twice."

Another explosive Riley Jensen story! I love this character, she is real kick arse material, but with a steamy sexy side too. She takes no shit from anyone and can look after herself and stand up to anything - awesome! A great continuation in the story, and (without saying too much and ruining the story for you) what is she doing with that vampire! She needs to make a stand one way or the other; yeah he is real hot, sexy and a dream, but he needs to make a decision about what he wants and ac...more

2 new characters in this book. Kade, the horse shifter (who i really like by the way because he's simple no-nonsense and fun) and Kellen who i'm sure will play a bigger part in the books to come.
What i liked in this book was that Riley is growing into a stronger character. And there's isnt that much of the 'hormones jumping ahead of the brain' as there was in the first book.
Quinn is back, and most probably its going to be a while (meaning atleast antoher book or two) before they get...more

Took a massive downhill fall, though most likely the book caught the desease of
2nd-book-in-a-series-itus. And the next book will most likely (hopefully) make up for the dissapointment of Kissing Sin.

Character analysis:

Riley: She is a fun character to get into, though I couldnt really relate to her, or understand her behaviours. And it kind of (really) annoyed me how she is always thinking about sex and what her freakin hormones want to do to the guy standing right next...more

I wasn't keen on this book for a number of reasons, but primarily because of all the sex. I mean, there is a lot of sex. I get that Urban Fantasy typically features sex scenes and that's fine, but I felt Kissing Sin veered too often and too enthusiastically into outright erotica. If you don't mind a lot of sex (at inappropriate times, in inappropriate places, and with implausibly well-hung horses) then this book is probably more to your taste than mine.

I find Keri Arthur's world fasci...more

Kissing Sin is the second book in the Riley Jenson Guardian series by Keri Arthur. This book is full of action, sex and retribution.

Riley finds herself in a bit of a pickle at the beginning of this book and is once again running for her life but she still has a few days unaccounted for. She must sleep with the enemy to get the answers and information that she needs to stop her hunters coming after her. This does not bode well with her beau, Quinn, but he has to either like it or lum...more

This is a continuation of a story that started with Full Moon Rising about Riley Jensen, her twin brother Rhoan and other members of the Directorate of Other Races.

Riley wakes up not knowing where she is but it does not take her long to realize that she needs to get away, she finds a stable and there some horses, where she meets Kade a Shape shifter who becomes a stallion. Together they manage to escape and with the help of her Directorate friends they arrive back in Melbourne, but peo...more

This book was dirrrty. Riley Jensen, a half-vampire, half-werewolf, lives in futuristic Australia, and must have intense, frequent sex for one week before the full moon or her lust will turn to bloodlust instead and she could hurt (or kill) someone.

If you accept that premise, the rest of the book won't be so implausible, but the very graphic sex made me read with one eye open. Whoa!

The story background is good. Riley works for a government organization meant to police all th...more

Riley Jensen is a half-werewolf, half-vampire dhampir with a love of her wolf heritage and overall contempt for most vampires. She's a liaison for Melbourne's Directorate of Other Races - an aussie equivalent of the FBI for supernaturals. Or she was. Now she's being pulled closer and closer to the one job she's never wanted - being a guardian. Kissing Sin begins with Riley waking up next to a dead body, and her life takes another horrified spin when she realizes she's been caught and experimente...more

With the first book I felt the same when it came to Riley and her sexual needs. I couldn’t not get past the whole wolf and the moon and the mating. I agree with Quinn it is down right slutty, and I had issues with it and I still do.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a great book and a fantastic read and the author does a great job, but the need Riley gets. And her fucking (sorry bout the crude way I have put it but that’s how it is) every tom dick and Harry is just d...more

Give a brief summary of the book:

Full Moon Rising finds Riley lying naked in an alley, unable to remember how she got there or the previous days that have obviously passed by. She figures out all too soon that she needs to escape, and escape fast, as someone is after her and won't be happy that she is free. Once again, Riley is up against an unknown force that is trying to create the perfect breed of species and they want her as one of their test subjects.

In this book, Riley Jenson (the main character) wakes up finding herself naked and injured with no memory of what happened to her. She ends up escaping what seems to be some sort of prison, and meets another shifter (he can turn into a horse) and his name is Kade. They escape together, and try to figure out what exactly has been happening to them. The story line gets better and turns into a mystery. I can't go into more detail because that would give away the story line, but it was interesting. ...more

I'm not quite sure why I continued on in the series when I found the first book mediocre at its very best. Still, I did, and so... well, something. It's very much same old, same old, with Riley having lots of sex, action, intrigue, um, other stuff. Mostly sex. I just find myself really bored with it all, which is definitely not what you want happening when you're reading something that is supposed to be exciting.

I really don't get how the author created werewolves. Ignoring the fact h...more

O quantomeno sembrano aiutarci.

Kissing Sin is the second book in the Riley Jenson series. The first, "Full Moon Rising" I was not impressed by at all (my review). In this book, however, I felt was a much better. I think the main thing for me was that she wasn't justifying her casual sex ways by lame excuses, but rather just stated to just take me as I am, it's a part of me. That was a much better attitude and therefore did not get in the way of the action of the book. The action, which starts at the very beginning o...more

This is the second novel in the Riley Jenson series and it starts off with a bang ensnaring you from the first paragraph. It starts with Riley – half vampire, half werewolf - waking in an alley next to a dead body not remembering anything and realizing from the moon phase that she has lost 8 days. She knows she has to escape but she doesn’t know from what and meets up with Kade a sexy stallion shape shifter, they help each other escape from where they are being held. They have an instant attract...more

The opposite of a lot of reviews here, I actually though Riley herself was the best part of the series. She has such a positive attitude and I like the way she accepts herself even when others don't. I didn't mind her whoring around because it's been written as a part of her species makeup since the beginning and suggested to me that humans who are part animal might not have our hang-ups about sex. Unlike other series, where perhaps a heroine begins as a strictly monogamist, church-going Chri...more

welllll.... Riley is again kidnapped & 2 clone were's had sex with her when she was in a coma... and... she frees herself... while freeing and then hooking up with Kade, a werehorse (with horse proportioned genitals)... and Quinn wants her back, and though he wants her exclusively, he is willing to try a compromise (which they never quite get to in this book)...

So she, Kade, Quinn, Jack (her boss, who is confident that she will take on Guardian role), and Rhoan (her brother) continu...more

As soon as I finished this novel, I immediately sat in front of my PC eager to write a review. I ended up staring at the da*n computer for half an hour. I just sat and stared. When I got my wits back, I have nothing to say. Now, I am not really a reviewer and I mostly only write here for myself but the ending of this book touched me deeply that I couldn't get past all the emotions to write at least a decent review.

Oh, WTH! It's the second in the series and if you didn't like the 1st...more

I'll start off by saying if you are not a fan of your characters having sex with random people, then this is not the series for you. I enjoy the plot of this series with the cross breeding labs, clones, and government agencies. My only problem is that it is a bit confusing. The one chance we get to shed some light on things is from a person that isn't allowed to speak about anything. So all we get is cryptic nonsense. There is a bit of resolution, but overall the plot hasn't progressed much from...more

I finally finished it! It was the most broken reading period I think I've ever had, but I finally knocked it out.

The one thing I'm finding about this series that I absolutely love compared to other series I've read is that while in the end on piece of the puzzle is resolved, there is always a continuation of the same plot line through each book. For example most series books have a way of keeping a core set of characters and each book a new conflict arises and by the ending is solve...more

The second book of the series I found to be much better than the first. I think I'm getting a feel for the characters and I'm really starting to feel some fondness for them - oversexed and all.

I find myself constantly comparing them to the Laurell K. Hamilton series (probably because it's paranormal and vampy/were-animal-y and full of sex), but with the exception of the first few in the Anita Blake series, I'm finding these ones superior.

I think one thing that I'm really...more

Omg...Riley Jenson is the biggest ho. I like her though. The action/danger element in this one is high - as is the copious amounts of non-descriptive sex Riley has. Quinn is a whiny bitch; I think and Kellan is someone she should go for - definitely. I love Rhoan and Lisander, they're fabulous!

It's hard to like a book when you don't really like the main character: Riley Jenson. All she seems to do (from the 1st book all the way through the 4th book - Dangerous Games) is complain, complain, and COMPLAIN about how she doesn't want to be a Guardian, and how she thinks her lover Quinn is too narrow-minded when he doesn't want her to have sex indiscrimmiantly. "Oh, boo-hoo, my boyfriend doens't want me to have sex with other men!" And the sex scenes are not even that good: there'...more

Superb Sequel to Full Moon Rising.

Positives:

*Quinn is back in trying to win Riley over. YEA!!!! Who doesn't love a sexy vamp.
*Throw in Kade a hott! horse shifter with ties to gov. and Riley goes crazy.
*End of the line for Misha but you come to love him for who he is.
*Relationships bloom, plenty of action with Riley taking the lead for most of it, and tying up some loose ends.

Negatives:

*I think it is sad that she chooses not to hav...more

Riley Jenson is back and fighting as hard as she was in the first one. In kissing sin we get to watch Riley grow into who she is becoming some more and learn more about Quinn, Liander, Rhoan, and Jack. Some new introductions to Kade (a horse shifter) who was captured at the same place Riley was, but they escape and we journey with them through new trials and journeys. Every character brought into this story just expands and accents it even better. The only negative is sometimes the plot points g...more

While I find the story interesting enough. The romance is sorely lacking in this series. I am debeting whether or not to just stop reading it now. The main female character in this series is pretty much sleeping with any guy that comes along and it takes the love out of the love story. She of course blames it on being a wolf shifter, but then it doesn't matter if it is the so called moon phase or not. I found the book rather annoying and the Riley Jensen character a slut that I hoped would ...more

“Which meant I got left with Quinn yet again. Given the time he was taking to make his decision, I wasn't exactly happy about that. I mean, putting me with him was like flashing chocolate my way then telling me I couldn't have it. It was just plain mean.” 20 people liked it
“One thing more I must tell you.
For the longest time, the only emotion I have ever felt was the hunger to succeed. Then I met you.
Is love the desire—no, the need—to be with that person, whatever the cost? Does it cause the rue of rage when you see that person with another? Does it make you ache to hold her, to whisper things that sound foreign and strange to your tongue? Does it make you wish for things you know can never be?
I haven't the answers, Riley. In all that I've learned over the years, no one has ever mentioned a force such as this. But whatever it is, I feel it for you.
We would have been good together.

Written by Misha.”
