I have to be honest. I abandoned this book without properly finishing it. I found it difficult to do so, despite my great dislike for doing that to a book. I like to finish reading things, even if they are disappointing. Unfortunately, I couldn't get myself to do that here.

The author assumes a lot of background knowledge on the part of the reader and I have difficulty seeing it either as a stand alone book or as a continuation of the series. This book was really strange, and not in a good way. The characters were interesting, but lacking in depth due to the near complete absence of physical descriptions. After all, when your secondary characters are supposedly incredibly unique, "showing" the reader what they look like is pretty important.
