Plot:

A snowglobe, 3 women, 3 chances to find what they want.

My thoughts:

This was such a sweet book, and perfect for me since I wanted something about Christmas to read this week and then this one fell in lap.

The miracles are sure there, they can't all be hallucinating. Kylie is the one buying it. She has no job, and no man longer since he left her for her sister. Heart heart longs for something. And the globe is supposed to have given the man it was given to his heart's desire. And since this is...more

I wish this whole book had been expanded and just been about Kylie. Either that or the book should have been much longer to fully develop the stories of her friends.
Even though this book left me wanting more it was still an enjoyable holiday read.

What? Only two stars for a book with Christmas, a magical snow globe and romance? How can that be? Well, my friends, it be because the characters are cardboard, one-dimentsional stereotypes and some of the dialogue between them sounds more like middle schoolers than adults? One of the first questions asked by one leading man is do you have a boyfriend. I don't think a grown man would say this. Something more like are you single or seeing someone sounds more like a grown-up. And they are just imm...more

I thought Kiley and Suzanne’s stories were great. All three of the friends was expertly drawn for the reader, surprising in such a short book. I was entertained and drawn in for the few hours I sat down with this one. Only Allison’s story left me unimpressed. For some reason I just couldn’t make myself care about it.

I accepted this from the publicist because I loved the cover. It is actually more pretty when it’s in your hands and if you combine that with its sweet story you have a perfect gift....more

Review by Jen:
I enjoyed this quick read. The plot was interesting, as well as the three main characters. The story is about three best friends, who are all at different places in life when it comes to relationship and careers. Kiley's just been dumped by her boyfriend for her sister. Suzanne is has a family, but is more career driven. And Allison is dreading spending the holidays with her family from hell. They pass between them a snow globe that seems to deliver Christmas miracles.

Kiley, Suzanne and Allison are three best friends out shopping for Christmas presents when Kiley wanders into an antique shop and buys an enchanting snow globe. A snow globe that has been passed down through the years to anyone seeking a miracle. Kiley is in need of said miracle. She's in the slumps after recently losing her job and, even worse, her fiancé to none other than her sister. Suzanne is not really looking for a miracle. She has everything she needs. The perfect home, a successful care...more

The Snow Globe by Sheila Roberts
Love that this is a holiday book, can't seem to get enough of them. This particular one is about a snow globe and it interested me as my dad had once given me one when he returned from a nursery convention in Boston, MA.
Remember just sitting in front of it, in the sun and just being so taken with the snow falling all over the scene.
This one is about a legend that comes with a snow globe that Kiley finds while at an antique shop, so she buys it and the shop owner t...more

Magic Snow Globe + 3 Women = 3 Christmas(ish) Miracles!

Kiley's year is looking down. She lost her job and her fiancee. But a trip with her girlfriends, Allison and Suzanne, into a shop leads to the purchase of a mystical snow globe--one that promises miracles for ALL the ladies.
I don't read much chick lit (I am guessing that's what this would be categorized as, it's so hard to tell with some books these days), but I just wanted a cozy little book to read to put me in the holiday spirit. That's w...more

This was a cute Christmas read that I got from a friend. I was thinking it was going to be the type of book that I can guess what was going to happen but it really surprised me that the author not only talked about the main character but also her 2 best friends. At first I was wanting the book to go back to the main character but the more I read the more I wanted to see what was going to happen to her best friends. I usually only read Christian books but since my friend gave me this book I wante...more

Kiley finds a snow globe at an antiques shop during a girls getaway. The problem is, she's unemployed and can't justify the high price. But...the owner's been on the lookout for the person who needs it and marks it way down. Hr sister and finance are now together and it's hard, but what does she see in the globe? The scene has changed and her future is changing too.

I thought the story had a lot of promise, but kind of left me hanging with Kiley's story and then jumped to two of her friends. I th...more

Another great, cute Christmas story! Very original. I just love all these Christmas stories with magic in them! After all - Christmas is magic, a time for miracles.
This book is broken up into 3 parts really. As the magical snow globe is passed on from person to person, it tells each one's story. Each woman sees something different in the globe, something they need to make their life happier. Real nice character development. Great descriptions. I especially loved the description of Suzanne's hous...more

For me, it wouldn't be Christmas without me reading one or two holiday books, and watching a couple of Christmas movies. The Snow Globe was chosen based on its lovely cover, and the story overview sounded perfect.

In The Snow Globe, the holiday season is anything but joyous for Kylie Gray. She's unemployed, and her boyfriend not only dumped her, but did so for her younger sister. feeling depressed, she allows two of her friends to convince her that a weekend away would be just what she needs. Whe...more

I know I am reading a Christmas story in August but who cares! I actually received this book last Christmas from my mother-in-law and finally got to it.

This book was just okay for me. I thought it was pretty good until the story was changed to Suzanne. It was kind of an abrupt changeover. I also didn't care for the story of Allison. I found it to be lacking and I don't think it wrapped up(no pun intended) the book very well. I just thought the ending could have been stronger.

Kylie is down on her luck this holiday season. Her boyfriend dumped her (for her sister!) and she’s recently unemployed. During a girls’ weekend with her two best friends, she wanders into an antique shop. A snow globe catches her eye and the shop owner tells her its history. Believing in miracles, Kylie buys it and hopes it will bring good things into her life.

As she prepares to spend the holidays with her family and her ex-boyfriend, she begins to see the scenery change within the snow globe....more

This book was heart-warming. Three friends on a get-away weekend. One of them discovers a magic snow globe in an antique shop. Three girls...three miracles. My favorite scene was Allison's family on Christmas day. It totally reminded me of my dad's family and the craziness that occurs at the holidays. Allison's dad bought his wife a thigh master and she is upset until she discovers that he bought it on ebay then she's furious. "You got me a used thigh master!" This is the first book that I've re...more

I thought this book was going to be much different than it was. I liked the whole idea of a Christmas snow globe that helped women in need of a miracle, but it left me feeling slightly disappointed. The whole story felt really rushed and I actually didn't care for the characters all that much. I wanted an uplifting holiday read, and I feel like I got a sappy, overly-sugary sweet one instead. This had great potential, I just wish the characters and storyline weren't so flat and rushed.

This is the perfect book to cuddle up on the couch with a blanket and a hot cup of hot cocoa. It's a quick, short read full of heartwarming, goodness that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy when it's over. I have to say I really enjoyed the magic of the snow globe and I don't think I'll ever look at them the same again.

If you're looking for a quick, light holiday read to fit in between cooking, wrapping, or to just end a busy day, this would be a great choice.

This was a sweet quick read that tells what happens to three women after they each receive a Christmas snow globe. Kiley's story was the one I liked best because I love happy endings for someone who got a raw deal in life. Suzanne's story was predictable and I found her to be very irritating. Allison's story seemed like an afterthought and too short but still appealing. The book would make a great Hallmark or Lifetime movie.

This is the first book I've read by Sheila Roberts and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a great, easy and light Christmas read. The characters are those that I could relate to. The magic of the snow globe is one we all hope for at one time or another. It is a book that leaves you happy and content. This is definitely one I would read again.

You just have to appreciate the creativity of this book for what it is. Who doesn't look at a snow globe and want to dream about what it would be like to be a part of it? What if you could see something that no one else could see and it just happened to be part of your real life? I found this book a great read and one that I would recommend to my adult friends. (It is a romance book, afterall.)

Kylie Gray buys an antique snow globe with a story. Turn it upside down and shake it,as the snow settles things begin to happen. What she see's in the snow globe is it the future or her hearts desire? After you read this book you'll wonder what would I see in the snow globe? A feel good novel for the Christmas season. In keeping with the spirit of The Snow Globe I'll pass this book on.

I needed a 'tweener' book to tide me over between knitting projects and more serious books. The Snow Globe was just the thing. I read it in a few hours and it was a sweet but predictable story. Just the thing when happy endings are what's needed for the moment. Now I'm off to read the more challenging "The Holy Thief" by William Ryan.

This really is not a novel it is very short stories, to short for me to really get into any of them a lot. The story left a lot of parts out, skipping over them or just never talking about them at all. I was disappointed in this book and I felt like it was the same story I have read in other much better written Christmas story's that I love!
It was a quick read and was not horrible but I really wanted more and would not have paid the $10 if I knew they were just short stories.

I truly enjoyed this story. Sheila Roberts has done it again weaving a wonderful story entwining 3 different lives together but telling each separate story. I have to admit I didn't like one of the characters until the very end. But I think that is Shelia's plan.
Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this wonderful story

This book had so much potential..I mean come on, a miracle giving snow globe- how awesome is that! However, I feel the stories were cut short. We were just falling in love with Kiley and her new found love and then it switched to Suzanne, and we barely had any time to get to know Allison. Overall, I was kind of disappointed.

(Romantic fiction, 2010) A snow globe enters the life of three women, all of whom are having romantic problems. In the globe, each sees a vision of what could be in their lives, and each finds happiness by following the clues they receive (not always willingly!). A delightful, quick Christmas story.

Cute book. Very short and easy to get through quickly. A bit strange how the snow globe traveled through the 3 friends, and they each found new hope. I figured that it would stay with Kiley and be with her throughout the book, but she passed it on after she found her true love from the book store.
