Best Friends for Never (The Clique #2)
In the second book starring Westchester County's most privileged middle schoolers, the Clique declares Massie a hero for hosting the first boy/girl Halloween party of 8th grade. Massie's already hired Landon Dorsey, the hottest party planner in the 9-1-4 area code, but her parents insist she has to invite the entire class. Unfortunately that means everyone. no one..... i kind of read the first one. then i bought this one
I read this with my friend at the same time. It was O.K. I really didn't like it as much as the other ones- it was good, but not great. It's more like a giant introduction for the next three books.
As you all know Massie has a perfect life, she has everything a girl wants. She thinks she has 3 best friends, Kristen, Alicia, and Dylan… But this is about to change, one of her best friends is going to become her worst enemy and her worst enemy is going to become one of her best friends. This spectacular, insanely entertaining book is filled with melodramatic conflicts, it is a book in which you will be over-blown by the circumstances talking place at there school, the most expensive school yo...more
The story starts during Mr. Block's celebratory birthday dinner in which Todd Lyons spills grape juice all over Massie's skirt. Massie accuses Claire of repeating outfits and Claire retorts that this is perfectly normal, and that Massie should be ashamed that she buys new clothes everyday. Massie's mother agrees that she has not come in the door without a shopping bag since she was nine. The girls strike a deal in which Massie is not allowed to buy any clothes for a month and Claire is not allow...more
Ouch does the title hurt. If you have read the first book, The Clique, you would know about the four girls in the Pretty Committee, and Claire Lyons, the girl who wants to be In. Things go sour for the two girls in the Pretty Committee, over a guy. It was always friends first ... right?
I liked this book, and all the other books in The Clique series. This one was special because it showed how the Pretty Committee fought each other in public and not only against everyone else in their school.

I really liked The Clique sequel because it had even more drama than the last book. At the beginning I was kind of bored, but as I read on, the book got more and more hooked on it. I think that what first made it interesting for me was when Claire bets Massie that she can't go a month without shopping and Massie bets Claire that she can't go the same amount of time without repeating clothes. I think that the bet made both girls realize that it's not easy being like the other one and made them ge...more

People think you’re spoiled? Wait until you meet Massie Block, the most self-absorbed you could ever see. She is one of the main characters taking place in “Best Friends For Never”, which is a nonfiction book that targets mostly young adults. It is based on typical teenage issues that girls suffer from. Adjusting to a whole new place and the nonstop peer pressure are basically the main problems of Claire Lyons.

I chose this book, because I like to read books that are really girly and involve problems that many people encounter in middle school or high school. It definitely fitted the types of books that I normally read. This book is about a girl named Massie Brooks, who is the most popular girl in her school. She tries to bring down one of the new girls Claire and ruin her life in OCD ( high school), but if she wants to throw the first boy/girl Halloween party in her school she has to do it with Claire...more
Have you ever wanted to be in a group so badly you would do just about anything to get in? Well this is just how Claire Lyons feels in "Best friends for never", the sequel to Lisi Harrison's new series The Clique. While living in New York CIty she developed and created shows For MTV, which she bases a lot of her writing off of. Her books are mainly about cliques and how hard it is to be the new girl in the group. I would definitely recommend these books to younger girls in middle school, they g...more
The Clique (Massie Block, Dylan Marvil, Kristen Gregory, Alicia Rivera, and, of course, the wannabe, Claire Lyons), are back for another shot at ruling the school. Seventh grade Massie is still the most popular girl at OCD (Octavian Day School), and to prove that, she plans on throwing OCD's first ever boy/girl Halloween party. However, Massie is unsure which is worse, being forced to throw the party with Claire (the un-popular girl who wants to be in), or having to invite the entire grade, even...more

As much as I love "The Clique" series, I have to say that this book was not one of the best. Once you pass the first chapter and go onto the second one, it makes you realize that the time passed by too quickly. It was like this wasn't the second book-more like the fifth.
In this book, I felt like we knew too little about Massie and her clique to feel any ties with them. Also, Lisi Harrison added in and said things that hadn't happened befo...more

The clique, also known as the pretty committee (Massie Block, the leader of the clique, Alicia Rivera, beautiful and Spanish and will one day take Massie’s place, Dylan Marvil, redhead that claims she's fat and is currently on a diet, Kristen Gregory, the smart girl who is the only one that is nice to Claire when her friends are not around). Homework book #4. OK, I had to read this because I say about my own novels that they are not about upper class girls schools and girls who spend daddy's money in malls ... which is one of the vices, oft-metioned, of the main characters in this novel, part of the Clique series. What I could not tell is if the author was poking fun at these girls while telling their story, or if she was holding them up as examples to be followed. Sometimes I felt the former, sometimes the latter, and I may need to...more

Massie and Claire pretend to be friends, so that Massie can throw a huge Halloween bash. At the party, Alicia becomes close friends with Olivia and Massie hangs out with her crush Cam. Cam and Claire meet each other and have a great time, too. Then because the clique wore their exposing devil costumes to school, OCD goes uniform; however, Massie convinces them to have a contest for the design. Claire and the clique (Massie, Dylan, and Kristen) make and model their ensembles together, but are bea...more
This book is a good book for people who want a good drama filled, girly book. This book has more drama than the first book in the series. Alicia met a new girl named Olivia, and Massie does not like her. Alicia and Olivia have done so many things together, that not Alicia and her other group of friends are not able to hang out with her. The school now has to wear uniforms and the girls are having a contest of who makes the best uniforms. Massie and her group of friends are all a group and workin...more

i really liked this book because in this book the octavian country day school, the school the clique goes to, has o go uniform. On top of that massie is throwing her first girl boy party for halloween and claire and massie had a bet that massie cant buy a single thing which is hard for her because she is a total shopaholic (like me)and claire cant reware the same outfit twice in a month and whoever looses has to wear massies old snow suit to school for a week. at massies boy girl halloween party...more
