Ranging from the incredibly stupid to the surprisingly witty, F in Exams is chock-ful of F answers that score an A-plus in humor.
Is this book right for you? Well. Pop quiz. Do you find the following images funny?

That's a little taste of what you're in for.
I, personally, found the whole thing incredibly hilarious.
Definitely recommended for teachers!

Notice the strange combination of tags that I gave for this book: Both the fiction and non-fiction label. I did that because although I read the front, back, and every page in the book, trying to find out how they gathered these "test answers," I couldn't find a single scrap of info. Did they ask teachers to submit funny answers? Did they ask students to do it? Or did they just make them up? I know the book was meant to be entertaining, not necessarily factual, but the lack of transparency on ho...more

Тази година на приемния изпит по биология в МУ-София се падна тема за хомеостаза, та се чудя колко ли биха писали на кандидат, написал такава чудесия.

Some of the test answers given were obviously attempts by the students to be funny but some seem like the person just didn't know or heard their instructor wrong during lectures. Good for a fast, fun read.

F in Exams: The Very Best Totally Wrong Tests Answers by Richard Benson is a young adult book that would be a fun read for all ages. Do you remember the days of studying hard for a test and then when the time comes completely blanking out on one or more questions? Perhaps you are still taking tests, or still having nightmares about taking tests. This book collects some of the more creative and entertaining answers given on tests in a variety of subjects. The book is divided into subjects matters...more
When I was much younger, a 10th-grade vocabulary quiz had a word I couldn't remember how to spell or to define. Knowing that any answer I gave would be way off, my attempt to use the word in a sentence read, "The psychophant pulled back the curtain with his trunk and stabbed her to death with his tusks."
I don't know if a record of that answer exists anywhere, but this book is a collection of exactly that sort of answers from students who knew they would lose the point but decided to go for laugh...more

F in Exams is a book that every student can relate to. It is a short collection of some of the cleverest and idiotic answers ever written on tests. It is divided by subject (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Math, Business & Technology, Psychology, History & Geography, and English) so that the reader can look at a specific class, whether it is their favorite or perhaps the one that they guessed on a lot in high school too.

F in Exams: The Very Best Totally Wrong Test Answers is a fun non-fiction book you will want to share and read aloud with your family and friends. It is a collection of funny, wrong answers to test questions and is divided into subject categories. The book will make you laugh, smack your forehead, and say "duh!" over and over. You may agree with the answers or wonder what is happening to our students.

This was a book given to me by a teenager to have a look through. It was a cute little book showing how some students had answered exam questions on a range of topics including the sciences, maths, english, history, religion, geography etc.
Unfortunately most of the actually funny, clever responses (such as the "Find x" with an arrow and a "Here it is" response) I had seen MANY times before and the rest of the answers were not actually funny but a sad representation of how students misinterpreted...more

I had pretty mixed feelings about this book. For a comedy book it wasn't very funny. In fact, only 10% of the "funny" answers got a laugh of out me. Most of the answers were just plain stupid, especially the farming bit (under Geography). Stupidity isn't humorous. In fact, I'd wager a guess that the author came up with a significant portion of the answers since they had all the same "OMG I'm trying too hard to be funnies!" feeling to them.

Richard Benson saw all those funny, incorrect test answers floating around the interwebs and decided to collect some of the best he could find into a slim volume meant for light entertainment. In this aspect, F In Exams is a success! Divided into sections on Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Math, Business and Technology, Psychology, History and Geography and English, these wrong answers provide the right kind of laugh. This book is really amusing. My favorite answers to exam questions were:
Write the first and second Laws of Thermodynamics.
First rule of thermodynamics is that you do not talk about thermodynamics.
Second rule of thermodynamics is that you do not talk about thermodynamics.

This book was incredibly funny! I'm so glad to have stumbled upon this little gem. It took maybe 30-45 minutes to read over the course of my breaks at work. I didn't want to put it down every time I sat down to read it. I was asked so many times what I was reading that had me laughing out loud so hard. I had to share a few of the funnier ones with coworkers who were passing by. I read this yesterday while I was avoiding studying for my own tests. It was awesome. It is organized by subject area, so there's a little something for everyone. I want to get this book for all my teacher friends. A few gems:
Who was it that helped Theseus escape from the Labyrinth?
David Bowie
Where was the Declaration of Independence signed?
At the bottom
Jeff has been asked to collect data about the amount of television his friends watch. Think of an appropriate question he could ask them.

This is a definitely a quick read! I downloaded it onto my Kindle and read it aloud with my husband in 15 minutes. I even highlighted and bookmarked pages, so I can share the responses with my friends and family. My favorite response was the answer to "Describe a Stakeholder." (You must read the book for the answer, but it is worth it!) I would highly recommend this book to adults and high school students looking for a good laugh. I have students who love puns and word play and would find this b...more
LOL!!!!!!! I wish i had the balls to write such atrocities as a way of improvising. Whether you are a college student, or still in HS, there are questions for everyone to identify with- I can guarantee you a deja-vu or two! :P
The Bio section was definitely my favorite one.
some i wanted to share here..
What is a "stakeholder"?
Someone who kills vampires. Buffy being the most famous. haha!!

I purchased this book because my school is currently going through the madness of state exams. I thought it would be a nice book to share with the faculty to relieve some of their test-associated stress. I am sure they will enjoy it because there were many "laugh out loud" moments. One example from the book had me in tears as I tried to read it to a family member (mostly because I couldn't get through it without bursting into laughter).

This quick-to-read book gives funny examples of how real high school students have answered test questions. The book is divided into chapters for various content areas like Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, etc. One of my favourites: Q: Explain the process of learning. A: A process by which information goes into one ear and out the other.

F in Exams was pretty funny. Some of the answers made me laugh out loud, while others made me say "Well, that's just stupid", but more often than not, it was the former rather than the latter. Sure, there are some answers that make you pause...and then make you wonder about the validity of these so-called "student answers", but it did entertain me. My favorite quotes were: "Why does Mark think his conclusion is right?" "Because Mark is a man." and "What is the probability of receiving a plate wi...more

This was a very quick read. I think it took me all of 10-15 minutes. I'd say it's a good book to have out as a coffee table book, or in a waiting room. Some of the examples are very funny, others less so. You may have already seen several of these funny answers somewhere on the internet (funnyexams.com comes to mind). The humor of the book is somewhat lessened to me because I'm concerned that many of the examples are fake. If you notice, *several* of the examples are written in the same "handwri...more
One of my sisters gave me this little book for my birthday recently, and I can't remember when I've laughed out loud this much for a book. I've seen funny school test answers before, but author Richard Benson has compiled 250 of them, and they're guaranteed to bring smiles, if not laughs, and probably a few groans, too.

So the prequel is not so funny, that's a shame. Most of these answers felt a little forced, unlike those in the follow up title, and I have to agree with some other reviewers who had doubts about the authorship. The jokes had mostly the same kind of pay off, which suggested that they may have been made up by the same person. Hmm, I'm not sure. They just felt a little too tricksy and clever to be genuine "kid" responses, I could be wrong though.

Most of the answers weren't really that funny. I've seen so much better ones circulating the web. Many of the answers here were obviously just by someone making an honest mistake, mixing up words or having heard it wrong in the first place. Sure, such errors might be funny every now and then but in this book they just made me disappointed. A few examples were delightfully cheeky, but sadly many questions were of the vague, or badly stated, sort that would have made me answer the exact same thing...more
