I hope you all know that these books already exist the author just put them into volumes to make them more modern and popular so no need to be waiting! All 15 books so far are out.

Gave it a four only because of Alisa. What a whiny, frigid little bitch. Literally wanted to throw the book down while trying to read through her journal entries. If not for my extreme dislike of her character, the book would've gotten a five.

I was so excited about the release of Sweep: Volume 3 on Feb. 3 and I wasn't disappointed.
I truly enjoy Cate Tiernan's writing style. She makes it easy to get into the players (in this case, Morgan, Hunter, Robbie, Bree, Sky and others, along with the introduction of Erin Murphy) and weaves many strong visuals into the story.

Tiernan also has a knack for writing Young Adult stories that are easily appealing to older readers, such as myself.

I look forward to reading the rest of this series, start

As I begin book #7 (The Calling), I am bombarded again with a recap of what Morgan has found out about her life so far and little things that have happened in past books. Why, oh why does the author and publisher continue this annoying little habit? I actually looked up the publication dates and the first seven books were published in 2001. I don’t think that people would forget that much in a month or two in between books. Please, let the madness stop!

Again, (this is another publisher issue), I

I read the Volume 1 in 2013 & Volume 2, summer 2014 and really loved both of them, but for some reason I waited quite a while picking up this one. (Maybe it's because each volume contains 3 of the Sweep books and I'm just not someone for marathonning series.) I'm really happy I finally did though (and actually bought 4 & 5 as well) because just like the previous two I really loved it!

It's a very fun quick read and I love how it's set in 'our normal' world, but with magick/wicca. (I don't

Still love this one. The thing with Ciaran was pretty obvious but cool none the less. I don't like Alisa at all and I have a feeling tht she's bad news even if she doesn't know it. Morgan's parents are annoying the crap out of me. After hiding something from her all her life how do they have the right to try and force their beliefs on her and stop her from practicing Wicca? It's stupid. Anyway, I think they might be trying to be more understanding, at least I hope they are. I adore Hunter and th ...more

This book left me not wanting to read the next and final portions of this series. The series starts off good and then becomes a murky cloud of confusing plot twists that may have been better off without it. You can tell that the author started off with some ideas of what happens in her head, but out of maybe hasty writing and maybe even a little boredom, she doesn't execute the plot well and leaves the reader--at least me- a little bored as well. I had to force myself to finish this book, and I ...more

I can see where this is going and I'm not impressed. I also am just annoyed at the lack of creativity character wise. The whole best friends split up by a guy and then become enemies? I don't want to read stories about characters like that. Where are the positive messages? Who thought it would be a good idea to write about girls stabbing each other in the back, parents being unsupportive, and a man being the center of a woman's life? I dislike authors who do not give young adults honest, valuabl ...more

The pace has quickened a little, and it took me a while to get a grasp on the book again. Definately still reading, just a little down that Hunter.... *looks up at sky* I can't say, you would have to read it yourself (and no he doesn't die if that's what you're thinking)

Before reading The Calling, it had been awhile since I had read the previous Sweep book, so I was worried my interest would have waned. However, I didn’t have much of a problem getting back into the Sweep world, and ultimately found The Calling to be another fantastic addition to the series, one of the best ones yet.

The Calling takes place a little bit after Spellbound, and this time the gang is headed to New York City to spend a week in Bree’s father’s Manhattan apartment. They think

The Calling continues Morgan's journey of discovery of Wicca and her true identity as a blood witch. She has been experiencing premonitions and travels with her friends to New York to try to stop her vision coming to pass. As with the other books in the Wicca series, I found The Calling really easy to read and a real page turner. However, I am now at the point where I am frustrated by the start of each book as Morgan tells us again all about her life. At this point we are reading technically the ...more

One of the things I love about this series of books is the coming home feeling I get when I slip between the pages. It doesn't matter how long it has been since I last picked up a book it still feels comfortable and inviting.
We are far enough through the series that the main characters feel like friends and you have a true sense of knowing them. And while it's nice that Tiernan adds in new characters to mix things up a little, she also takes the time to flesh out the existing characters too. We

It's good to see that Tiernan continues to flesh out her ensemble characters. People like Robbie and Bree were being kind of ignored so it's pleasing to see more of Robbie particularly. The twist re: Morgan's parentage is interesting. A thoroughly enjoyable series. 4 stars
It's refreshing to read books where the protagonist isn't perfect. Morgan struggles with her differing natures and is at times drawn to the power she has. Her choices aren't always the right ones which mak

Volume 3.

Ill start off by saying I read this the same time of reading Divergent. And that it's girls like Tris and Morgan that should be put up in class rooms and billboards to be role models for girls. These girls start off as quit silent girls that don't voice anything that they believr or think. But once faced with life changing moments gain themselves and fight with everything they have. Not to mention both girls have there price/soul mate with them, but would NEVER sit back and have them fi

This volume is one of my least favorite I think by far. Morgan is whiny and thinks everything is her fault, or revolves around her. I loved her in the first two volumes and I loved the twist with what happened between Cal and Hunter. Though, this volume, the protagonist, Morgan Rowlands was the least interesting to me. I absolutely love Alisa, Bree, Sky, Erin, Hunter and Robbie. The secondary characters have more of a personality than she does. Morgan's just like "oh I'm powerful and I'm a witch ...more

This is the third volume in the Sweep series, Morgan continues to enhance her knowledge of magick and her personal life gets even more hectic than it has ever been before. In this volume Morgan learns of some difficult truths about her family, truths that threaten to shatter her and the life she has come to know. Morgan has several difficult choices to make ones that could change the course of her life forever. I thought this book was pretty good. I loved learning more about the series main char ...more
Okay, so in this volume we meet Ciaran, who really should have been the overarching antagonist for the entire series. Morgan learns she is essentially Morgan Christ Superwitch, and struggles against her darker nature. And to be fair, that is an internal conflict I really love. I adore watching powerful people struggle to define the correct way to use their powers, and to come to grips with how easy power is to abuse.

This volume also serves to highlight a problem with writing a series. The best-w

This is far enough into the series that the main characters feel like friends and you have a true sense of knowing them. And while it's nice that Tiernan adds in new characters to mix things up a little, she also takes the time to flesh out the existing characters too. We get more of a look into Robbie and Bree - it was nice learning about Bree's insecurities.
There is so much going on in this collection of books that it's hard to step away from it. We meet several new people in this collection o

This is a super fast and super easy read. The plot moves quickly so its very rewarding, as many plot points come to fruition within a single book, let alone the volume. The characters continue to mature and develop, and Morgan faces new challenges. In this volume she really focuses on her Woodbane heritage and her fear of succumbing to the evil side of her nature. Strife, the last book in the volume, is the most annoying one solely because so many bad things happen. If you've enjoyed the previou ...more

It feels like the series has lost a bit of steam. Whilst I found book 8 - Changeling quite interesting, book 7 - The Calling and book 9 - Strife I found to be rather lackluster. Strife in particular was rather tedious with very little tension and a very obvious "twist" meant I just wanted to book to end.

I also feel that reading the same recap of Morgan's backstory at the start of each book to be dull and unnecessary. If there is a fixed 190 page limit for each book I would rather Cate Tiernan sa

The Calling:
Another awesome book to the series! Things really heat up when Morgan sets out for New York, never would I expect the end result of the trip. It was devestating and enthralling all at the same time. :)

Oh my gosh! SO good! This Sweep book focused on Morgan's relationship to her father and half-brother. It was an amazingly short read for something t

Okay so its getting more interesting. Unlike the other books there isn't much repetition in this book. Which makes it much better than the others. However its still a cliché which is good and bad at the same time but doesnt bother me as much as the repetition.

Overall this volume of the series is much better than the first two and I'm expecting even less repetition from the last 2.

I would recommend this books series to anyone its one of those urban fantasies which can cater to everyone. Its got

The third book in this volume pissed me off the whole time I was reading it. I HATED Alisa. She's obviously a blood witch. Duh. The other journal entries we were reading is most likely her birth mothers when she was younger. I'm hoping Cieran gets away, maybe with Morgan's (and Killians) help... That'd be awesome. I hope Hunter finds his parents. I hope Morgan tosses the idea of keeping her grades up, like she's a blood witch she ain't got no time for that shit. Also her parents could've died fo ...more

I am so in love with this series! There is just so much drama and the pain feels so real! And I practically hated (insert name here) but eventually learned how to empathize due to the sort of unfair circumstances. There have been so many action and the plot moved so quickly a as the story progresses, the answers just build up to create a more complex weave of questions! Vol3 ended is so disquieting and depressing. As I said, there is just so much drama!
