Melodramatic would be a good one-word summary of this book. I was suckered in by the cover art.
The characters are angsty to the extreme about a high-school rivalry, the origins of which never seemed to be well explained. The whole dream-girlfriend hallucination is not well done. It ends up just feeling clunky, especially when Miles ignores real-girlfriend because he thinks she is dream-girlfriend. I couldn't get into the characters or their problems, so not a good book for me.
