While I was reading, I had a feeling Bellamy was sending his letters and gifts to the wrong person. I still loved the book, though. I was angry at Bellamy for breaking Kaeck’s heart but hearing how Bellamy’s Master punished him for doing that to Kaeck made me feel better. :D Especially since Bellamy’s Master is friends with Master Selsor, Kaeck’s new Master, and told Bellamy to make things right or else. I actually really enjoyed this story even though it was extremely short. I had no idea who Kaeck's secret admirer was and the twist at the end was interesting. I will say that at some point I was about as upset as Kaeck was, and the fact that Megan Derr was able to draw that kind of emotion in a short story is commendable. I wanted to immediately buy the next story but was extremely disappointed to find that it is $3.99 for a 47 page eBook. I understand that a writer needs to make money and

Great short story. I loved it and didn't feel disappointed at all, I would've give it 5 stars if it was longer. :D Too bad there isn't a sequel to this story, although I'm not a fan of sequels -but I would've been happy to read more about Kaeck and Bellamy.

It was a cute story, but ultimately not satisfying. I think if it had been made into a full novel and the relationship fleshed out it would have gone a long way. All that aside it was a fast easy read for a sleepless night.

I really quite liked this one. Well-written, and even though the main character suffers a little at the hands of his love interest, I felt the reason and resolution behind it was handled nicely.

I was hoping for a last minute surprise of the admirer being Cathalta although of course it would be impossible for Kaeck to appreciate him when Bellamy is being all nice and gentlemanly.

This doesn't count as one of my books read this year, since it is a short story, but I do want to keep track of things. This story is short and sweet, with the emotionally fulfilling happy ending I expect from Derr. Things might have worked out a bit too easily, but that's too be expected in a story like this.

Wonderful short story, amazingly well constructed. I just fell in love with Kaeck and his sweetness over and over again and would love to see a bit more of his life (hoppefully with Bellamy).

Ok, so you could have hit one character because he was such an idiot...but what makes it a good read is the emotional rolacouster! I loved the world she created and only wish the story were longer.
