Infuriating, Imperious. . .

Proud Scottish lord Kieran Rossburn doesn't relish the idea of a marriage of convenience, but he'll do what he must to preserve the family estate. Worse, the bride he's been saddled with--the daughter of a crass, unrefined, American merchant--is far too weak-willed for his tastes. Or so it seems at first. . .

And Entirely Irresistible. . .

This arranged marriage of convenience focused on the developing relationship between Diantha, daughter of a wealthy American merchant and Kieran, an impoverished Scottish lord. She was a sorely abused family commodity who only wanted some independence from her brutal parents, and he was a proud aristocrat who expected to follow his late father's faithless ways. Kieran really didn't believe he had it in him to remain faithful to one woman. Yet these two made a lovely couple as they learned about...more

This story was wonderful in that the heroine never allowed him to walk all over her once they were married but didn't act out in a way that made me want to hit her.

I enjoyed that the hero was also true to his time period and slowly began to fall for his wife though his reasons for keeping his distance were a bit tired.

The village subplot was weak. I think the story could have stood on its own without it as that just pulled me from the story and seemed like an awkward way to deal with some strang...more

Diantha Quinn has always been seen as a possession by her nouveau riche family. In 1875, they marry her off to Scottish Lord Kieran Rossburn, who needs her dowry to restore his family's estate. Ann Stephens tells a wonderful story of a couple learning to trust, to work together, and to love.

Not a bad read. I liked the characters, the writing just did not seem to fit the timeline. The male lead was scottish, but spoke as a well educated englishman.

After reading an excerpt of Ann Stephens' website, I am rushing out to buy this book. Historical romance is my weakness in life. I cannot have too many of them, and my book collection proves my addiction. This is one of those books that I cannot rest until I've read it. I'm going to put down the book I'm currently read -- yes, it's true -- and I'm going to make it my mission for the weekend to read Her Scottish Groom. The local bookstore better have it or I'll be rush ordering from Amazon!

Can't...more

My first book, TO BE SEDUCED, was published in February, 2010. My second, HER SCOTTISH GROOM, hit bookstores in March 2011! Or you can order them online or download them for Nook and Kindle.

Although I write stories based in the 19th century, I am NOT the writer Ann S. Stephens who wrote several dime novels in the 19th Century! Nor do I write or publish poetry.
