This is an excellent addition to this series. When I started Black Bird, I thought it was just a weird fantasy romance about Kyo and Misao. Their relationship is certainly central to the series, but as it has progressed other elements have been revealed. Sho as the villain wasn’t working for me when he was first introduced. Now, I’m buying it. This particular volume helped develop him a little more. I think there’s much more to Sho than meets the eye and Misao sees that too. I know that Misao ha...more

A fantastic installment in the Black Bird series! Our characters are currently in Kyo's home village attempting to keep the peach while denying them Misao's blood and dealing with the resurrection of Sho who has his own plans for chaos. Misao and Kyo's bond are tested many ways and yet prove themselves over and over. I was really impressed by their dedication to one another in this volume as well as the fact that Misao seems to be getting a bit smarter!

The drama is crazy right now and I am real...more

This Book is about a girl named Lady Misao who has forgotten her memory with other guys.In order to live the world has to be in chaos. Misao has a speacal type of blood that heels the people and others just want it because it tastes good to them. Kyo is dating Lady Misao and Kyo keeps getting her blood to stay healthly and refreshed. Sho has some type of power that makes people posessed and they forget memories that happend in the past.

I would reccomend this book to people who like action,anime,...more

It seems like everyone's talking in circles in Black Bird, Volume 11. The pointless droning hardly adds any drama. It's boring. I got really excited with the last volume, thinking this series was getting interesting again but this volume left me feeling disappointed. I've just about lost all patience with Misao.

There is unrest and discontentment among the villagers. Between greedily demanding a supply of Misao's blood and the impending attacks from outside clans, t...more

This review will be the same for all of them-- excluding book seventeen and eighteen-- as I'm going to briefly review books 1-16

I've wanted to read this manga for quite some time, and once I started reading it like a few weeks ago. I couldn't stop. Despite what anyone says, I love this manga. I love the artwork. I love the main character's romance. I love the plot line. And I love all of the characters that make up this manga. There's a lot of people who've said that Hime-sama, the main characte...more

'Misao is the bride of prophecy whose blood gives power to the demon who claims her. But most demons want to keep her power for themselves - by eating her! Now Misao is just trying to stay alive...'

In this volume, the village gets even more annoyed by the face Kyo won't share Misao's power and Sho starts to show his true colours... again.

I'm not entirely sure what Sho means when he says that he needs the whole world to be in chaos in order to live. Is it something to do with the spell that broug...more

I'm not really sure what's going on here. Sho needs the world to be a chaotic fight for power so he can live? Unless I see evidence that this is a component of the spell bringing him back to life I'm going to take it as him being his usual trouble stirring self and dressing it up in fancy language. Misao buys it because she's still confused about him rescuing her and she is not the brightest bulb in the box.

I'm enjoying all the drama this volume though! It's not terribly complex or convincing bu...more

Well, looks I'm finally catching up with this series. Its not bad or anything. At first it was a little weird and had its share of awkward and I mean a lot of awkward moments. But you know what? You get used to it. Plus there are other characters as well. And the art isn't that bad either. Alright volume though.

WAAAHH!!! My heart was pounding at the end of this volume!!!

So I've recently been trying to decide which member of the Daitengu is my favorite (other than one of the kids)... and I thought perhaps it might be Sagami because of his bluntness...but I think all along I've loved Zenki the most... and page 116 proved it for sure! I was SO happy it was Zenki who saved Misao and kicked ass instead of Kyo! Right then and there I knew I needed to stop my doubting and just accept the fact that I love Zenk...more

Series Review: This series doesn't look like much in the beginning but trust me it soon shows it's true potential. This manga series is gripping and thrilling while never losing its romantic side. This manga is for more mature readers due to some graphic content. I really recommend this manga!

It has been a long time since I've read this series. I'm so excited to be finally finishing it off! Picking it up again after so long feels like there was two stories going on, the demon side and the human side. The human one I had largely forgotten, and actually did not seem to fit in well with the other side, the demon one. It was the demon one that is the focus, so it felt me a tad confused.

Kyo, Misao, and the Daitengu all return to the village for political reasons, to find that Sho has returned from the dead and is being held at the village. He claims to have turned a new leaf, that he is harmless now, but Kyo and Misao both know that he is never to be trusted. What could he be plotting?
And also, tension is rising with the extermination of the Nue clan and a war beckoning at the call of Sho and his attendant Kaede.
Dana
The village of the tengu is split in two, followers of Kyo and followers of Sho. Misao feels responsible for the war between the two brothers and feels in danger because the villagers all want her blood.

Sho returns Misao's memories of her lost 10 years and she remembers all her memories of her love for Kyo and with them she remembers Sho as well.

Good. But I wish that Masao would grow-up a bit more. She has somewhat, but still cries a bit too much for my tastes. Also, I like the continuation of the Sho storyline, but if he turns out to be "all powerful" the author might have ended-up writing themselves into a corner.

Overall I liked this one. There's finally some real action and the story is moving along.

I really like Black Bird. Though it does have it's character flaws I love how suspenseful and fast paced the story is. The cliff hangers are enough to keep me coming back to see what happens next and the good story line is just a bonus.

The characters are really got problems to deal with and it’s really got tense.
Julie_plop
Tout simplement le plus beau des 11 tomes paru jusqu'ici. Nous sommes en pleine guerre et pourtant ce tome est la confirmation absolue de l'amour que se porte Misao et Kyo. Un tome magnifique.

After reading this series any girl might wish she is a senka maiden and a demon might come her way and sweep her from this world .................. Amazing Demon & Human Love Story..............
Kristine Pratt
Tensions rise, the politics are heating up, and the Senka Maiden is right smack dab in the middle of all of it. Fast-paced and exciting and still a long way from the end!

I like to read Black Bird but it's not the best manga ever. The story isn't good enough for me and the main character cries like all the time and it's starting to get on my nerves.
Athena
im amazed at the progression of this as it has gone somewhere unexpected and left me wanting the rest of the series. the art is good, and its characters are well done
Dani
Another great book, good storyline, I want to read the next volume and see what happens next. I love the drawings but the one eye thing on some people still is weird.
Salima Korri
OMG, Did Sho just get hurt? Although he's evil, I really love his humour and he still has a kind heart for giving her back her memories (even if he wanted to weaken her)
Charty
After re-reading Fruits Basket I have to give this series up. The writing and story is just so shallow in comparison, I just don't care to finish it anymore.
Jessica (BookRockGodess) Bolton
I didn't think it was possible for me to feel bad for Sho but I do! Just WOW!
Lopana
can't wait for the next book....such a good cliff hanger!!!!
