When the urge took hold, serial killer Larry Bright brought women back to his home. After raping and murdering his victims, he brutally disposed of their bodies. Sometimes he built a white-hot fire and burned them in his backyard. Other times he dumped them along nearby roads and fields.

Oh no!! This was one of the very worst books I've ever read. I was up really late and wanted something different and sort of mindless to read, but I still wanted it to be dark. This was a super cheap Nook purchase, so I went for it. The story was interesting, but it was almost as though this book didn't get written. It was choppier than most outlines, rambled forever about irrelevant details, and had a lot of obvious grammatical errors. I could really care less about grammar and flow, but this b ...more
If you really want to know the story of Larry Bright's crimes, go to Wikipedia, or Murderpedia. Those sites will tell you what you want to know and they're waaaay better-written than this asinine book.
The author thanks her editor, but why? It doesn't look like he did anything at all with the material beyond encouraging her to write it. The style is completely unremarkable, the writing utterly mediocre, and the idea of a concise, cohesive narrative seems to have never entered Rosencrance's head.
Blah! I was hoping for more of the psychology of the murderer and only got a little. I could have skipped about 90% of the book which was just names and investigation. Then there were the two random chapters at the end about investigation into a different murderer.

In comparison to some other titles on serial murder I found this one easier to follow and cleverly laid out. There was a lot of information included for anyone interested in the psychopathology of serial killers. One thing I found surprising is that the region where the ac ...more
Not very well written.

I thought this book could have done with a good editing session. A lot of the information was repeated in different sections. I also think there should have been more information on the killer's relationship with his mother. It was alluded to, but the book never went into it.
