Nothing is more important to the Romeros than family. Just ask Kamille, Kassidy, and Kyle -- three beautiful, loving, and deeply loyal sisters who are the heart and soul of their family. Their mother has remarried and their new stepfather, a world-famous all-star baseball player, has come complete with two stepsiblings. Life in L.A. is pretty typical for this newly blended ...more

I know. I know. But it was on the New Arrivals shelf at the library, and it was surprising because I didn't know that the Kardashian sisters had written a book. Come to think of it, I don't know that they've read a book. In any case, it looked like it might be unintentionally hilarious, particularly after I read the opening line: "Sitting in a cafe across the street from her family's restaurant, Kamille Romero sipped her acai berry smoothie and lifted her face to soak in the sun." It's no shot r ...more

Recommends it for: NO ONE! IT SUCKS!
Pages: 277

Genre: Chick-lit*

Publication Date: 2011

My Rating: 1.5 /5 stars**

*Not the good, Shopie Kinsella, kind of chick lit. More of the bad, horrible-written kind celebrity authors try to write. Think Lauren Conrad’s L.A. Candy series kind of chick lit.

** Only because some of the story lines were okay-ish, otherwise it would have gotten a 1.

Dollhouse is the Kardashians poor attempt at writing a book. Well this is the worst book I’ve read all year. Sure, the story lines were okay and kind o

A terrible waste of trees. I found the Kardashians' book to be poorly written, and a vapid excuse for a novel. It lacked plot, originality, and, above all, substance. The Kardashians need to leave the written world alone and stick to what they do best...what is that again?

I'll admit, I'm a fan of the Kardashians (though Kim I could probably do without). Still, I set my expectations really, really, really low with this book. So, I was pleasantly surprised by the pacing and overall direction the book took. Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe or their publishing company did a really good job in choosing their collaborator (Nancy Ohlin) and editor (Tessa Woodward).

I mean, don't get me wrong, this is hardly groundbreaking literature. The beginning of the book was a bit hard to g

I think I have to start off by saying that I am a Kardashian fan. I watched their reality show and I thought they were funny and dressed like goddesses. With that said when I first saw this book on the shelf at my public library, I knew it was going to be crappy. I was so certain it was going to be lousy that I put it down but when I realized I had no other books to check out I decided why the hell not. I knew it was going to be terrible but maybe I could gain some insight on how celebrities rea ...more

I'll admit, I'm a fan of the Kardashians. Still, I set my expectations really, really, really low with this book. Okay, I don't want to hear it. Please don't mistake my rating as me thinking this book was good. It wasn't. At all. Nonetheless, it was like a terrible soap opera or grisly car crash. With every chapter of this ludicrous book I just laughed more and more. I don't think this book could have been more terrible if it tried. And that's what makes it so hilarious to me, since I think the ...more

Not my favorite book I've read this year but also not as terrible as some claim. It's a light read, anyway.

The books purports to be written by Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe Kardashian, but they list Nancy Ohlin as their "collaborator" so I think we can safely give her full credit.

Dollhouse is about three sisters, and is told from 4 POVs: sisters Kamille, Kassidy, and Kyle, and their mother Kat. It was chapter 10 before I was able to remember who was who. Kamille is the model, Kass is the smart one,

Review of Dollhouse

The book Dollhouse was an interesting book because new events were always going on. For me it was a little hard not to picture each character as the Kardashian sisters because the book is based off them. I really did like that each chapter was a different character because it brought out each character’s personality. This book also showed that not every family is perfect and families come with the good times and bad times. In the book it explains that the family is a pretty t

The credits list both a collaborator and an editor, so I can only assume that these people are the writers rather than the delightful Kardashian sisters. I imagine a marketing scenario wherein a ghost-writer and an editor find themselves unwillingly participating in a series of uncomfortable sit-downs, endless drunken text messages, and random emails relating soap-opera-esque ideas mixed with thinly veiled personal anecdotes. (The most horrible of these being a scene in a club where a drinking b ...more

I can't say I'm a humongous fan of The Kardashian, albeit I own every season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that's available on DVD, HOWEVER, when I saw this book in the library, I really didn't think it was going to be good.

I picked it up, checked it out, and decided to give it a try anyway. To my surprise, I couldn't put it down and it took me like two days to read it. It was pretty hard not to picture the characters as the Kardashian sisters (and fam), considering the amount of similariti

This book is written worse then the Twlight Saga. It lacks any plot, imagination, and character development. Dollhouse is an obvious smoke screen for the authors' true lives. It would have been better if they wrote a tell all autobiography, then trying to pass this off as fiction. Anyone with half a brain can see that the three "heroines" of the novel are Kim, Kourtney, and Khole. Show me an original plot and I'll consider this a well-written book, so far I have found nothing.

It was an okay listen. I kept finding myself trying to figure out which of the characters was which sister in real life lol but since I don't really watch their reality show I guess I'm at a disadvantage. The story seemed to move pretty quickly. There was lots of drama, dysfunction and irresponsible behavior..so if that's your thing you might enjoy this book.

Phew! Thank God that’s over! It wasn't the worst book I’ve ever read, but it certainly was one of the most vapid, it was like watching the worst episode of KUWTK on an infinite loop.
I've wanted to hate read this one for years, but I promised myself I would not pay one thin dime for this tree murdering slorefest, so when I finally managed to get my hands on a free copy – well, I won’t say I jumped at it, it’s been sitting around waiting to be read for months and I've been studiously avoiding it,

Omigod!

No, serious review time. I will fully admit that I like the Kardashians, I have their DVDs and their books. It's terrible, I should feel ashamed etc etc.

This book though, my God. I've gave it three stars because even though I loved it (I know, terrible!) there was things I didn't like. But my God, it's so cheesy-pie and so easy to get through. I think I read it 3 times while on the beach.

Kamilla is obviously Kim. I think Kassidy is meant to be Kourtney and Kyle is suppose to be Khloe but

I'm ashamed to even be listing this quite honestly. I won't give the Kardashian's a dime of my money but I do have to admit to being slightly interested in whether she/they/any of them are actually able to write.
If I find it someday for free I'll probably read it but I won't actively seek the book out or pay a penny for it.

So I found this book in the dollar store and thought to myself "this could either be a halfway decent read or absolutely terrible." It was only a dollar so how much could I really loose?

Well, I must admit that it wasn't actually that bad. Of course you can tell that the story is somewhat based on the Kardashian family with a few tweeks here and there. It's a really easy read and is every bit of the trash reality t.v. one would crave from their actual show. I did, however, notice several grammar

There is a lot I could say about this book but I'll stick to one point. I hope the person who proofread this book was working pro bono. Or should I say...I hope the person, who proofread ths, book like, was working like, probono? *sigh*

Meet the Romeros, Mom Kat, sisters, Kassidy, Kamille and Kyle. The Romero's life is turned upside down when husband/dad David Romero dies suddenly and they have to sell their house for something more modest. A life insurance policy allows Kat to buy a defunct restaurant in West Hollywood. Then she marries Beau, a retired Dodger pitcher, and he add his kids, Benjy and Bree, to the family.

Then one of the sisters is "discovered" and becomes a model which forces the entire family into the spotlight.

Well, sebut saja: hidup mewah, reality show, dunia model, dll. Berikut ini contoh daftar kemiripannya:

1. Kat dan Beau LeBlanc (former Bisbol Player) equals Kris dan Bruce Jenner (former track and field athlete)

Biasanya

“It’s Predictable – Interesting – Funny – Surprising – yet More Surprise and Makes Me Curios”

I think this book was okay.

At first, I underestimated this book, but then I tried to read it as a purely fiction. I tried not to think about any Kardashian. And, I find it enjoyable.
No matter who the ghost writer is, I think it is well-written, fluent, no lame jokes, no meaningless ironies, and the plot runs in the acceptable way. It's like reading LBD novels; in fact it is far better than Dorothy Howell good-for-nothing novels.

One thing that make me think this novel is more than just celebrity

I should probably be ashamed of myself for reading this, but I wanted something dumb and breezy to help me turn my brain off for a moment, and, well... be careful what you wish for. At least I didn't buy it. (My library's ebook consortia did.)

I went into this expecting something dishy and salacious, a la Jackie Collins, but other than a few gross-out scenes tossed in for shock value, rough language, and a bit of casual drug and alcohol abuse, it's actually pretty bland. The story hops around bet

Yes, i read a novel written by the kardashians. i saw one episode of their show once, was kinda dull. regular people having a sweet 16 and girl getting her license. anyway, i saw this book in the new books section at the library and thought oh how funny, ill read it. this is the story of three sisters, alternating from each's point of view. after their director dad died, their mom remarried and they gained a step brother and sister, and now they all have to work at their mom's restaurant to make ...more

I think everyone underestimated this book because it was written, or at least co written, by the Kardashian's. Although I am a fan of the Kardashian's, I thought the story would be too much based on their own lives for me to actually enjoy. However, even though the basis of the characters seems to be rather similar, this book definitely had a more interesting and different storyline than I would of thought, and one that I somewhat enjoyed. This was not a bad book at all, but it wasn't thaaat gre ...more

The Kardashian sisters did a wonderful job in creating a relatable story regarding love, family, and friendship. When I read the book, I thought the characters were very similar to the Kardashian sisters themselves, so I felt as if I knew each one of them on a more personal level as I continued to read. A great quick summer read!
