I LOVE these books... every single one of them!! Absolutely favorites and keepers, each and every one! Undeniably Yours is book two of the Kowalski family series and it’s funny, heartwarming, sexy… and in case I didn’t make it clear enough, I LOVED IT!

This is Kevin and Beth’s story who, after a one-night-stand, end up pregnant. Yeah, they’d used a condom, but sometimes Fate has other ideas, and I’m so, so glad for it! Just like the other books in the series, while there are definitely some very emotional moments, this is not an angst ridden story. I’ve ended each book with a smile on my face and a deep sigh of contentment!

I’m going to share a couple of my very favorite scenes and then call it done, because no amount of my raving can do this story justice -

This scene takes place when Beth meets the whole Kowalski clan for the first time. The entire event was funny as all get out, but this bit had me smiling so hard my cheeks hurt--

It was a little overwhelming, even though they were a very likable bunch of people. Like agreeing to learn the doggy paddle and being shoved off the high-dive board. And to keep things interesting, somebody told Bobby, Kevin’s youngest nephew, the baby could hear stuff and he was determined to make his new cousin his BFF in utero. It was a bit disconcerting having a kid randomly tell bad jokes to her stomach. Like now.

“Why did the weasel cross the road?” he yelled at her belly button. “To prove it wasn’t a chicken!”

Then he laughed so hard he almost fell over. He was a cute kid, she thought, and then it hit her—a little over seven years from now, she might have one just like him. Some faceless, nameless boy with too much energy and the knees almost worn out of his jeans, telling jokes to crack himself up. Maybe, if they were lucky, he’d look like his daddy, dimples and all.

And Bobby strikes again -

Beth was laughing at his story when Bobby ran up to her. She lifted her plate out of harm’s way and smiled at Kevin over his nephew’s head as the boy put a hand on either side of her waist.

“Hey, cuz!” Bobby yelled at her stomach. “What does a snowman eat for breakfast? Snowflakes!”

Then he laughed like a loon and ran off in another direction.

And for some reason, this one really got to me. One of the simplest, sweetest ways to hear that a man had fallen hard for his woman -

Countless women had walked through his bar. Walked. Sashayed. Danced. Staggered. He’d even had a few try to climb up onto the bar and strip. Who knew he’d be turned on by the one who waddled?

So yeah, do I love these books? Absolutely!! They are fun, feel good, sweet, romantic, and very sexy stories guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face and have you wishing that you were part of this family - or better yet - one of the lucky ladies who has stolen the heart of a Kowalski.

I wanted to bash Beth over the head with the boulder that is her pride. She spends the entire book whining about how everyone wants to help her and be there for her but she is too independent and afraid of smothering to allow it.

I'm so glad that this book was about Kevin Kowalski since he seemed like the only sibling who got a bum deal in the last book and I wanted a happily ever after for him. I didn't exactly expect this kind of happily ever after mind you, but I'm not one to complain. Even though it's not something new, I really enjoyed the way the story-lined moved and I never lost interest.

Before I get to my problems with Beth, I'll say what I liked about the book.

Kevin, the scenes in the bar he owns, Paulie, and the Kowalski family are great. I loved Kevin's character. He is a stand up guy who LOVES his Boston teams with an almost comic fervor. The big family interaction is well depicted without being overly cloying or precious. I enjoyed how all the brothers snark on each other and get along. Yup, Kevin is a fantastic character.

And then there's Paulie. She is Kevin's right hand at his sports bar and has a whopper of a secret that comes out in the course of the book. Her romance has a better hook and was much more involving than the one between Kevin and Beth. Paulie and Sam should have been the main story. I was so invested in them and wanted to follow the course of their relationship much more!

But Beth annoyed the bejeesus out of me. There is being independent and proud and then there is being just plain stupid. She was just such a frustrating character because I could find no reason for some the of decisions she made or why she continued to treat people so stand-offishly when they only wanted to help her. Why is it considered a bad thing to accept help? Especially when the help is coming from the father of your baby? And this continues up to the bitter end of the book. I couldn't for the life of me see why Kevin would continue to put up with her.

The other big weakness of the book outside of Beth is I simply didn't buy why Kevin was so into her so quickly. Yes you can be attracted to someone, but he was into her from the start and never looked back. They hadn't really even shared a meaningful conversation before they were between the sheets and he was contemplating changing his long established dating pattern behavior just for her. And...I dunno....I just felt he was into her waaaay more that she was into him. That may not have been the intent of the author. But that is in the end how I felt about the characters.

Read it for the hero and the B-romance plot. Try not to want to slap the heroine too much.(less)

I liked this one a little better than the first one. I'm not sure I got the complete ebook for the first one since I noticed the second was a good amount longer. But anyway, I LOVE Kevin! I also loved catching up with the rest of the Kowalski family. Beth's character did get very annoying but Kevin made up for it. I lennon that it takes place in NH too since I live right next door. Looking forward to the next installment in the series.

This book was frustrating. It never got any deeper than the surface. Beth was a stupid idiot and I have no idea why Kevin even liked her. I totally didn't buy their HEA. Very disappointed because the first book in this series was so good! It felt like the author took 2 steps back in the writing department.

Beth soon finds herself pregnant and realizes that she needs to talk to Kevin. But she's worried about how he will react. After the initial shock, Kevin startles Beth by embracing the idea of becoming a father. He's also eager to pursue his feelings with Beth but Beth fears that they are just because of the baby and suggests they stay just friends. But that isn't what Kevin wants and he spends his days trying to prove to Beth that they could be much more.

I found this book to be completely charming and I didn't want to put it down. I love the Kowalski family. They are completely overwhelming but you can tell it comes from love. The littlest member of the family was beyond adorable and I found myself smirking every time he would talk to the baby.

My only complaint about this book is that the character of Beth drove me nuts. I didn't quite understand her motivation. Nothing in her back story lead me to understand why she was so hesitant to put down roots. Sure she felt smothered by her parents but that explanation wasn't enough for me to understand why she lived like a nomad and why she fought Kevin every step of the way. I felt bad for Kevin and started to think that he could do better! It is a true testament to Stacey's writing that I found myself loving the book despite the heroine.

There's also a sweet B story involving Kevin's best friend Paulie, and her ex-fiance. I loved her character and frankly would have found Beth's behavior more palatable if it were coming from Paulie. I also thought that Paulie's story could have made for a good novel on it's own.

This was the first book by Stacey that I read but not the last. I'm looking forward to downloading Exclusively Yours.(less)

Wow, is all I can say about this book. I am head over heels in love with the entire Kowalski family.

Our hero and heroine in this contemporary romance are the most real that I have read in a long time. Keven reminds me of my husband, a real ladies man, but an all around deceit guy. Beth reminds me of me, a girl who is a little bit of a cynic and want to make sure she is doing the right thing for everybody. This is the 2nd book I've read written by Mrs. Shannon. I've already noticed a pattern: besides some repetitive dumb lines, there are also a lot of crass remarks and descriptions. I've enjoyed the other books in this series but didn't care for this one at all. The main characters, Kevin and Beth, were so annoying to me it was hard for me to finish the book!

An interesting premise. kevin and Beth have a one night stand after Joe's wedding. Beth leves the next morning never intending to see Kevin again. It turns out the protection they used was insufficient and Beth is pregnant. She contacts Kevin just to inform him, and they decide to become friends and have the baby.

We know Kevin from his brother Joe's story Exclusively Yours. He is just adorable and sweet and there is nothing he does within this whole book that I don't agree with. He supports Beth from minute 1, he tries to see if he can get her on his insurance, he gets her out of her shitty apartment and across the hall from him, he participates financially, and on a a personal level - he wants to go the doctor's appointments, he wants to go to the lamaze class, he's just a class A guy. More importantly, he wants a relationship with her which she blocks the whole time.

The conflict is all on Beth's side. She's lived her life, since leaving her parents, as a free spirit, she moves to whichever city she wants to, works just enough to get by or to save maney for the next move. This pregnancy means that that life is over. She also sees Kevin as a casanova who has women throwing napkins with their numbers at him constantly. Although she is extremely attracted to Kevin she doesn't allow the relationship because she thinks he just wants her for the baby - I thought he so obviously liked her beyond the actual pregnancy that her prickliness and sour treatment of him really went on too long which just showed Kevin in an even better light, because once he actually decided that he couldn't wait forever for her to wise up, he told her in a respectful and calm manner always assuring her that their relationship as friends was always going to be important to their child's well being. When Beth finally sees the light (and the absolute jackpot of a man she has) she quickly lets him know, and his acceptance of her is just lovely.

What the absolutely scandalized traditional part of me could have done without was the campsite wedding (shorts, dirty t-shirts and DEET - talk about the anti-Bridezilla).

Some of the lovely moments of this book:
- Kevin telling his parents that Beth is pregnant "Well after the reception I went for a walk and well Beth is pregnant" you got to love a 35yr old man who goes to tell his parents he knocked someone up!
- The Kowalski family. While I found them a little too nosy in Joe and Keri's book, here I just thought they were a supportive and loving family.
- The secondary romance between Paulie, Kevin's best friend and the waitress at Jasper's
- all of Kevin's moments with his child. He really did love that child from the moment he knew it existed(less)

I read Shannon Stacey's "Exclusively Yours" quite some time ago, and it was my introduction to both Shannon Stacey's quirky, romantic style as well as the overarching Kowalski family - as large and charming as ever. I had a few qualms with the multiple perspectives in that particular novel, but I think so much was improved in this novel, both in terms of the central character focus as well as the appeal. Loved the chemistry between the two leading characters as well as the overarching story. I had a few qualms with the multiple perspectives in that particular novel, but I think so much was improved in this novel, both in terms of the central character focus as well as the appeal. Loved the chemistry between the two leading characters as well as the overarching story. Had many moments where I had a huge grin on my face, particularly noting the interactions between the characters and the overarching family.

The story toggles, primarily, from the perspectives of Beth and Kevin. Beth and Kevin a have a brief romantic encounter and their chemistry is off the charts, but then in a moment of misunderstanding and another moment of clarity, Beth's world is turned upside down. She, at first, thinks Kevin dismisses her as just another momentary fling, and the next she realizes that she's having his baby. That certainly turns Kevin's world upside down too, but not in a way that some would expect. He's totally for having the baby and supporting Beth in any way he can. Beth is hesitant because not only is she more of an independent spirit (and I actually like that quality in her), but she's not sure if she wants to jump into a relationship with Kevin and end up losing him. I think the qualms and ups and downs they go through are palpable and there are definitely many family moments that I found funny and sweet through the collective novel. The side characters are well defined in their interactions, and the side story interested me, but I don't think it really struck me as much as the central story.

Kevin is a sweetheart, leaping headfirst into trying to care for Beth and do everything he can for her and his child - sometimes it comes across as overbearing and Beth calls him out on it, but even with his flaws, he's still quite a gent. One can tell he genuinely cares for Beth and wants a deeper relationship with her. Beth's qualms/fears are also palpable, because she doesn't want to complicate their relationship further, and their relationship does take an appropriate time to develop and nuture - something I liked to see.

I really enjoyed "Undeniably Yours" and definitely can't wait to read more of Shannon Stacey's work, in this series and beyond it.

Well, we find out more to him in this book. He may attract the ladies, but he doesn't often take them up on their offers. He's ready to settle down himself like his older brothers and sister.

He meets Beth when she comes into his bar with her boss who gets belligerently drunk and Kevin ends up having to kick him out. They meet again at Joe and Keri's Wedding (yes from the first book) where Beth is tending bar. What happens then is a one night stand that leads to Beth being pregnant and Kevin actually being happy about it. He was attracted to Beth from the beginning and he's excited about the idea of being a father and he would like more of a relationship with Beth too.

Beth on her end is definitely attracted to Kevin. It's something that she ponders throughout the book, but for whatever reason she decides that the must only be friends and parents to their child. Any romanitc entaglement would probably end badly and she doesn't want that for her child. She also questions Kevin's true feelings. She believes he only wants to be with her because of the pregnancy and she doesn't want to wake up one day and realize their relationship is not happy. (For anyone who also read the first book did we not learn anything from this similar scenario?)

I understand Beth's apprehensions at first. I would probably feel the same way. But Kevin sticks by her side throughout the pregnancy and them some. He never waivers in his devotion to her or the prospect of their child. But she can't get over the fact that she doesn't think it would be a good idea even though she really does care about him. What I didn't understand was how this attitude of hers kept persisting. It was ok at first with them not knowing each other all that well then to find out she was pregnant, but after months of Kevin proving himself and his family welcoming her into their family she still maintained that he couldn't possibly want a relationship with her if she wasn't pregnant. Pregnancy is the only reason he's still around. I mean I would have understood her reasoning more if maybe that's the life that she grew up wither herself, but we learn rather quickly that her parents are together and very devoted to their daughter. Kevin's family she can also see is a very loving and close family (even Lisa explains her reservations in her similar situation and how they were unfounded). So I just don't know where her mentality about this subjust lies. I almost think it got to a point where she just wanted to keep denying him to be stubborn.

I would have liked to have seen more time with them being a couple and new parents instead of being new parents while Kevin tries to convince her to be a couple. I just think the book almost went too far with painting Kevin as this saint. How he took everything in stride and really gave Beth time and space to figure out what she wants. Then in the complete opposite direction there's Beth who's almost painted as a shrew who won't accept the kind man's (or his family's) help even when she desparately needs it

I don't know if this will be a book that I would want to re-read in the future or not.

Something I did like was that we were kept in that family dynamic. Even though Joe and Keri (or Terry and Evan) weren't the main people in the story we still knew what was happening with them.

Also, I thought Paulie's story was a little thrown together. Maybe it was because she wasn't part of the Kowalski family proper that I didn't feel a connection with her. I liked her in regards to Kevin and Beth's story but didn't really care much about her own story when she was center stage.

I know the next book in the series deals with a cousin that hasn't yet appeared in the storyline so I don't know how that will go. Might try checking that out from the library instead of reading it. (less)

I only read Undeniable Yours because I read the first and it really bothers me to not continue a series once I’ve started it. I had a really hard time finishing this one compared to the first book. I enjoyed this read - although it has all the hallmarks of a classic romance (misunderstandings, unable to keep away from one another, strong willed characters who won't back down), it had a very modern up-to-date feel about it. It's also always nice to see a romance that shows the guy investing his feelings from early on in the book, instead of trying to fight the fact that his days as a bachelor are over.

However, if Kevin is a great character, Beth is... less easy to identify with. I found her very irrational at times and though Stacey did a good job of trying to explain some of her feelings and insecurities, often she just came across as... well, not very nice if I'm honest.

If there was one other thing I didn't like it was probably the mini-story that happens between two of the other characters in the book. It isn't a hugely lengthy read and I just felt like that distracted from the dynamic of the novel rather than adding to it. I'd rather the book was another 100 pages in length if another storyline was going to be thrown in. I kept reading and wondering if somehow it would tie in to the overall story somehow and prove to be a key element - but I'm really not sure it did and would have happily seen that aspect removed.

Those two things notwithstanding (and they are not deal-breakers by any means), Undeniably Yours is a good read with some great characters. If you're a romance fan, this will probably tick all the boxes for you and hopefully press a few buttons. Definitely a lovely read for a cosy night in or - if warmer weather permits - a day on the beach!(less)

Shannon Stacey is my new fave author!! This is book 2 of series and the best in my opinion! the first one was very good as well but this is better! I love the hero: tall, charming, caretaker, all around good guy. There is always a formula to these romance stories but the success of the story is how the author handles the formula. Beth completely closed herself off and came off like a jerk--for ten months. She argued about every single thing the hero wanted to help her with, even though he was just trying to do his best by his baby and a woman that he liked (her). Her pride was completely ridiculous. I am all for pride, but it has to make sense. And nothing about this girl did. She felt claustrophobic and blamed the hero for trying to welcome her into his family. That kind of intimacy is just not okay for Beth. Sleeping together is one thing, but expecting her to eat Thanksgiving dinner with his family is quite another. Right...that makes perfect sense.

Beth's mom had quite a few miscarriages before having her, so she was coddled and smothered with love quite a bit when she was a child. Apparently her answer to this issue was to leave and bounce from town to town, never having an actual career or home. She'd rather live in shanty style apartments and get a job where she just barely makes enough to move to the next town. Yes, that makes perfect sense. Because being poor and living in crappy apartments is always preferable to acting like an actual adult and taking control of your life and setting boundaries.

Beth's fear of forming ties with anyone and setting down roots makes her come off like a complete hag the whole book. Every single time Kevin tries to help her or buy something for the baby, she blast him about trying to smother her. She argues about everything and is prideful to the point of stupidity. She closes the relationship door in his face again and again and the poor guy just takes it. Because he thinks she's worth it. I have no clue why, but he was stuck on her. I actually pitied him by the end of the book. He was such a nice guy and he deserved so much better than her.

The secondary romance was my favorite part of the book. I wouldn't have minded if Sam and Paulie would have become the main relationship focus. ;) (less)
