Al-Hout's book is an amazingly detailed story of someone who has dedicated his life to the liberation of Palestine--so much so that when the PLO decided to secretly hold negotiations with Israel, he resigned. It is rare to read the writing of someone who has such consistent moral values over a lifetime. But the soul of the book are the anecdotes he tells--especially about Yaffa.
