If this is the worst book that I read in 2013, it'll be a very good year.

Very much a people's history, but more in the original tradition of Morton's People's History of England, with broad strokes regarding class relations, social forces, conflicting ideologies, imperialist power, and so on (there's even mention on occasion of dialectics and contradiction, so, yaknow, overtly marxist), rather than the more colloquial and personal demarginalization of resistance voices that one might find in Zin...more
