Fani *loves angst*
I enjoyed this one. I really did. It was a sweet, tender love story about a lonely man, who found at last someone who can make him laugh and care for him. There was good chemistry between Logan and Emily, and I admit I thoroughly enjoyed their kissing scenes. I just expected more depth in Logan's character; I didn't feel I got to know him as well as I hoped. And in the end, it didn't have the angst or depth Juliane's and Carolyn's (books #3 and 2# respectively) had. A nice read for those who've ...more

A very lighthearted historical romance from Jacquie D'Alessandro, "Tempted at Midnight" is the final book in her 'Literary Ladies Reading Circle' series. Four women who use an innocuous group title to read salacious stories...sound familiar my friends? Of course, we have it easy today compared with the daring of these four women!

Emily can't quite believe it. Her family teeters on the brink of financial ruin! Now they are looking to Emily herself to make a 'good' match, meaning marry money, to sa

Fourth and final book of a quartet. I loved the first book, liked the second, DNF the third, and found this fourth a disappointment.

The hero Logan was introduced 4 bks ago in NEVER A LADY and has been thrown at several of the previous heroines, only to end up a loser. Sad to say, his romance with Lady Emily was not worth the wait.

I dont usually like humorous books since humor is so subject but found JD's books charming and winsome. However, the JD charm failed to weave its magic here. Without it

Fourth Book in the MAYHEM IN MAYFAIR installment.

Emily Stapleford's family are in financial ruin she has to marry money to help them. Emily wants to marry for love and has a plan to get money by being an author. So she writes a vampire story and in order to get the ton interested and get it published she dons fangs cape etc and scares people at a ball. American Logan Jennson is filthy rich and can't forget the kiss Emily and he shared months back a kiss that Emily instigated, but now he is bein
Things that makes you turn the page:
Emily's ridiculously and funny vampire escapades
Logan's playful banter towards Emily
Lastly, the mysterious villain

Things that I didn't like:
The story was dragged. Really
Gideon (a character in another story) was a stupid body guard, believe me

Emily had an idea that will make publishing companies scramble to her vampire book, by insinuating that vampires exist. The idea was ingenious and hilarious, something a lady wouldn't do but she did it. She wasn't a carbon

The ratings led me astray.

I know we all get in a funk sometimes, I look to these wonderful fluffy books to give my mind some time to restore itself after a heavy series and/or read. BUT OH MY! This was definitely not what I was looking for.

The number of time Ms D'Alessandro mentions Emily's damned lips drove me absolutely BONKERS.

About half way through the book I started skimming the inner thoughts of these silly characters and just started focusing on the dialo

Tempted At Midnight is an adventurous, fast-paced, Regency era romance with a modern twist; vampires. Now before you start thinking that its cheesy, I can assure you that it is only a ruse; it is just Emily’s way to try to save her family from financial ruin. I can’t explain how it all works because I don’t what to ruin the story, but suffice
The Romance Reviews (Carole)
Jacquie D'Alessandro charmed my socks off with Tempted at Midnight. The story holds a twist, in that it's the heroine's family--instead of the hero's--that's penniless and is in need of new funds to replenish their coffers. The author's writing style also made this an easy and exciting read. I totally couldn't wait to learn how Emily's and Logan's romance would progress, and this kept me turning the pages. Oh, and midnight did play an important part in the story. But more than the characters per ...more

I almost didn't finish this one because the hero & heroine spent a good chunk of the book looking for reasons to dislike each other, to the point that it got annoying. I have to admit that I thought the whole female vampire ruse was kind of lame, too. But hoo boy, can Jacquie D'Alessandro write a steamy love scene that'll make you tingle! The ending made up for the characters' earlier stupidity, and I'm glad I read it because I had been looking forward to Logan Jennsen's story since he was i ...more

4.5 stars.

I really enjoyed this one, Like I have the others, but I started to get a little bored in places. Although overall I still liked the book a lot. To be honest it was the book I was least looking forward to, but it did fill my expectations in the end.

I'm definitely going to be checking out the rest of Jacquie D'Alessandro's books.

After the first in the series this is my next favorite. Definite attraction, some mutual irritation regarding each persons character from both, a bit of mystery. Great end to the quartet!

Loved this one...I think it was my favorite of this series. Emily and Logan made a great couple. Looks like their kids will be next in a series...maybe? Hope so...

I really liked this book! It was great to see the last two characters in this series finally come together, espcially considering their dislike for each other in the other books!

I wanted to love this book, I did. But it was such a disappointment.

Emily irrationally dislikes Logan and he irrationally dislikes her. Except everyone around them knows this is BS and is constantly telling them they should open their eyes and realise that THE ONE is staring each of them in the face. Adding to the pretend dislike, is the ludicrous vampire sub-plot that had me rolling my eyes. Who the hell thought that absurdity was plausible?

Logan, who's been thrown around from woman to woman t

I've been struggling to read this book for a couple of weeks now and while it had a few nice elements, it just wasn't enough to fully engage me. Ultimately, I was a little let down by the last book in this series.

We have seen both Logan and Emily throughout this series and despite their antagonism, you could tell that underneath all that was an interesting attraction. Emily's family is in debt (a large portion of it to Logan) and in an attempt to save them, Emily writes an erotic female vampire

Y Emily no podrá resi

The 4th and final book in the Ladies Literary Society of London series, this is Emily's love story. Emily's three best friends are married off in the first 3 books of the series and that leaves Emily and the rich American Logan to begin their story. Emily, the eldest daughter of a large family concocts a scheme to save her family from financial ruin. Inspired by the naughty stories the ladies of the Literary Society read, Emily writes her own book, a sexy love story about a female vampire. And t ...more

Regency romance with sex. #4 in the "Mayhem In Mayfair" series. The Ladies Literary Society has chosen another book & this one features a vampire love interest.
This is Lady Emily's story & of course Logan is the man she finds herself attracted to.

Logan's past catches up to him. He finds himself beleaguered by a man he knows is dead.
Emily must think of a way to make money for her family without compromising herself. She decides to write a book about a female vampire. In order to sell

Me encanto!!! I admit I didn't actually read this book till the end. I was mostly curious about what happened to the other girls from previous books, so I mostly skimmed to parts concerning them. I was thrilled that Carolyn, who I loved from her own book, got a second "happy ending" when she found out she was pregnant, and it was a nice way to patch up everything. I just wish I could have been a bit more engaged in the story.

I liked it! Suprisingly. I was really afraid to start this book since I’m a little bit annoyed with Lady Emily and it’s always harder for me to read a book when I don’t like the heroine. Thankfully, she’s waaayy better in this book than the previous ones.

The first book in the series is still the best IMO but this ranks next for me. But I might be a bit biased since I really liked Logan even from the first.

Growing up on Long Island, New York, I fell in love with romance at an early age. I dreamed of being swept away by a dashing rogue riding a spirited stallion. When my hero finally showed up, he was dressed in jeans and drove a Volkswagon, but I recognized him anyway. We married after both graduating from Hofstra University and are now living our happily-ever-afters in Atlanta, Georgia, along with ...more
