Notes after finishing the book: ****
I won't say this was the best story ever, but it was certainly more than I expected. I have had this book for a while and finally gave it a chance. I liked LLeigh's writing style. (BTW this book has explicit material, and is not for the faint of heart.) I haven't liked ménage books, (Ive only attempted two before, and I did not finish either). However, the scenes in this book were well-written. I liked that the author took her time getting the read...more

For me, this started out on a high. And then I got a little bored. Then it got good again. When I first started it, there was this intense sexual tension. I liked that part. But then they didn't actually DO anything until over halfway through, and the first time they had intercourse was at 67% I think. And I wouldn't normally complain about that -- sexual tension can sometimes be half the fun. My problem was that while they weren't doing it, they were thinking such flowery things about each othe...more

3.5 would be more accurate.

The mystery aspect of this book was much more complex than previous books in the series - which I enjoyed. On the other hand there are a lot of little details that either don't add up or simply contradict one another; I won't go into detail - but know, they are many. I thought that the development of the relationship was inconsistent. Overall, I was really impressed with the increased strength in the complexity, I just wish that the details were seamless and also that...more

Lora Leigh is and forever will be one of my favorite erotic romance authors of all time. She is one of those authors where I don't even need to know what the book is about before I buy it and normally the stories are so hot and juicy that I can finish one of her romances in 1 or 2 sittings. That being said, Dangerous Pleasure, book 12 of the Bound Hearts series, was disappointingly bad. The book before this one, Guilty Pleasure, was also not that good which is frustrating since Leigh finally sta...more

Twelfth in the Bound Hearts erotic series usually based around the Sinclair Club. I think Leigh used the word Sinclair once or twice in this story. Khalid and Marty have been engaged for a few months now.

The Story
It musta been dangerous. So dangerous that Leigh couldn't take the time to bother with expanding past her outline. It's the only excuse I can come up with as to the lousy job Leigh's done in creating this story. Hardly anything holds together.

Why would Paige lose her job? One. All she h...more

Ok if you haven't read this series before you may be a little lost in the backstory. You should at least read the previous one about Khalid since this book is a continuation of that book, plot line, and characters.

Well I went into this book knowing that there are mixed reviews and that I haven't been that happy about Lora's writing in her most recent books. A lot has been going on in her personal life so that has effected her writing (as it sh...more

This is a favorite series of mine. It seems that this series has been going on a very long time. Well I wonder if this is the end of a very good series. This book started of so awesome. And then it just kind of lost the energy that most of the bound books have. The story would have been really good had the steaminess of the usual bound books been there.

Paige has been in love with Abram forever. His half brother and Paige are siblings which makes it very awekward for them to have any kind of a re...more

Meh.
Sadly, Meh.
I am a Bound Hearts fan. I even enjoyed Khalid's story where others felt let down. But this one threw me for a loop. There were multiple inconsistencies. Jafar has a female spy with Donover, but had to ask Chalah where Paige was? So the spy knew all kinds of small details but not something as big as who they were protecting? um. no.
And Abram tells us he left Paige and Tariq alone because he couldn't trust himself with her. But later it's because they were supposed to be getting fa...more

This story drowns in details and I had a hard time keeping track of all the various characters. And what's the point in having a hero who constantly denies himself the pleasure of the woman he desires? Abram was forever dancing around Paige, and even long before they finally "did the deed"--and it was a long time coming--their passion really didn't click for me. Tariq, being the third, well, he was just kind of thrown in there to be "the third" since that was the common practice for the alpha me...more

I have not read this whole series, but of the books I have read, this has been my favorite. I know Lora Leigh apologizes at the beginning of the book for inaccuracies regarding the Saudi culture, but I enjoyed what she did with it. I think without the culture story and interesting backgrounds of the characters, I would not have enjoyed the book as much . I like a book with a strong plot, and this had it. It kept me guessing until the end.

I did, however, feel that there were several editing mist...more

This is a book from a long-standing series. The main men are usually from the previous book, and it is expanded in its own story. Khalid is from another book and this is a story about his brother and his sister. That's right...brother and sister. No this isn't incestuous...they have completely different parents and each is related to Khalid. The story line is the same. The attraction has been here all along and only now is being pushed past its limits. The men are heros...undercover and the wome...more

Overall a good book but there were a few unanswered questions in the end. Hopefully the series will continue and they will be answered.

As a ‘Bound Heart’ ménage story, this book was disappointing. As a suspense/romance it was pretty good and I did enjoy it….although there were parts that seemed to be missing here and there and left me a wee bit confused….which I’ve come to expect with LL’s latest books.

Paige has been in love with Abram since she was 18. He’s been attracted to her too, but has had to keep his feelings a secret so his crazy powerful father won’t find out and kill her or use her as bait to bring him to heel; Thei...more

I love the Mustafa brothers! raw-mysterious-sensual-passionate-loyalty to a fault.

I thoroughly enjoyed Abram's story even though it made me nervous as heck. He's the epitome of fierceless. I felt the chemistry btwn him and Paige was patiently nourished, built and then overflowed with love and passion. Imagined Khalid having to explain the love btwn his brother and sister made giggled...so wrong... Is that why he kept and insisted them apart? just the opposite, he truly loved them both and...more

An easy read - if you're used to Leigh's Bound Hearts series. An inevitable relationship build between Paige and Abram - which we've had hints of in previous books - but up to Leigh's normal standard.

If you're not used to this, then the sex scenes throughout the book will bore you silly - there were rather a lot of them - but they're tastefully done, and this time, there's a great deal of angst on Abram's part.

Satisfying - but then, Lora Leigh is predictable and I know what I like for a non-thin...more

I am not sure why I was hesitate to read this book. I guess it was because I didn't know the characters and had not invested any emotional energy into their story. After reading the story I have to wonder if Ms. Leigh is setting up a couple of more books. The characters of Jafar and Chalah were very moving and emotional. I have to wonder what will happen to the brother and sister. I also have to wonder if Tariq will find a woman that he can love and cherish. I did come to care a great deal for P...more

I think I am over Lora Leigh for a while. Her books used to be so thrilling and different. This book didn't do it for me. I feel bad saying this as I have previously liked the majority of her books and feel I should like this one. The storyline was good, the characters flowed. Yet it still felt fragmented. There was one part where the characters are doing something then BAM they are suddenly on the run. Loud rock music was plaing in the story (to what end I don't know) and it just wasn't explain...more

This book starts off really good, however, it loses me a little until almost the end again. There seemed so much more filler info in this book compared to others of this series. The sex scenes were still steamy but disjointed somehow that I can't quite explain. I really like Tariq but it seems like he's getting big time short changed and then you have no idea where the heck he stands come the end. It was good to read about Khalid and Marty and man am I glad things played out the way they did wit...more

Of all the Bound Hearts books, this one was more on the story than the sex. It makes me wonder if Leigh wants to continue this series and used this book to introduce more players.

Abram is Khalid's brother. They have the same father, different mother's and were born on the same day. Talk about twins!! Abram is the oldest and rightful heir to their father's Saudi kingdom. He's been beat up by having watched his father kill his mother, then having both his wives killed at the hands of his younger h...more

Very disappointing. The only reason I don't like a Lora Leigh book is when she has her H/h fight too much. Even in that case, I usually enjoy the other parts of the story. I can't say that about this story. First, it was almost nothing like any of the previous stories in the series. The romance was next to nothing. They barely spoke to each other and were barely in the same room together for the majority of the book. There were very few sex scenes and only one with the "3rd". I thought that was...more

Abram is Khalid's half brother from the last Bound Heart's book. They have the same father, Azir, who is a terrorist leader in Saudi Arabia. Khalid and Abram never took to their father or his beliefs, and as adults they have fought to end his regime. Earlier they had shared Abram's first wife whom their other brothers later murdered for revenge.

Abram is hesitant to ever love again, since his brothers had vowed to kill any woman that he got close to. However, he has loved Paige (Khalid's half si...more

So, I read this in about 3 hours or so. I've always enjoyed the Bound Hearts series, especially the first few entries. I liked the concept of Abram and Paige was a likable heroine. My issue comes with the plot. It's a continuation of the story from the last book involving a rich Saudi family, land and money rights, a crazy father bent on punishing his former wife, and in between all of that, a romance. I'm sorry, but this is the most unromantic backdrop for a book that one could create. Neverthe...more

The UPS man showed up yesterday with my book. I happily trumped all the other books in my queue to read this one. Ms. Leigh delivers again with a sweet menage with a hint of danger. This book seems to be more focused on family and betrayals. I don't understand or know the culture which Abram comes from so I can't tell if any of this is plausible. All I know is, it's pretty bad to be a woman in that culture if a guy is cruel, sadistic and insane. There is no balance or protection. This morality p...more

Who would've ever thought I'd be reviewing a Lora Leigh book and saying "What the hell happened??? Noooooo steam!!!!". But I am sad to say I was extremely disappointed with this book. After the last few books in this series have been really good, really steamy, with great plots, great characters and over the top excellent sex, I expected a really good read.

Instead we get this washed out story, with like 2 or 3 sex scenes TOTAL in the whole book, and that...more

This book was actually a disappointment compared to her other novels. Her bound heart novels surround the menage relationship aspect of romance novels but this novel didn't really dig deep into it. Tarek was in love with Paige but he's not mentioned after their first "time". And why write a menage story if Abram is too possessive?? This story seemed more involved in the tension between Abram and Paige, and Khalid's problem with them ever being together, and the Abram's crazy father.

The beginning starts off with a real bang, kind of looses steam towards the middle, and then finishes with a rushed ending. This just didn't have the same feel as the others in this series. Usually her series books build so well from one to the next, and this just felt disjointed and rushed. I really wanted to like Abram, but I felt that we barely get to know him. "With Shane Connor working at his side, he must convince his father of his loyalty, a terrorist commander of his unconcern, and a wom...more

What can I say? I love the way Lora Leigh writes. I liked this story. It kept me wanting to turn the page to find out what was going to happen. Kept me waiting and wanting for Abram to just let go enough to love Paige. I found myself waiting and waiting for Abram & Tariq to make their move.

Give me a good story with great Characters, a lil sex and some danger and I am all in.

Lora Leigh lives in the rolling hills of Kentucky, often found absorbing the ambience of this peaceful setting. She dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared. Lora’s family, and her writing life co-exist, if not in harmony, in...more

“He gave to Paige that last part of himself.
The part of a male that became more than a lover, more than a heart mate.
He gave her that primitive, possessive core that most men hold back.
He gave her his being and he felt the momemt she gave to him.
And they became more than just one.”
