The Giraffe that Walked to Paris is the story of the first giraffe to live in Europe. The giraffe came from Egypt to France as a gift to the king. The giraffe took a boat to the border of France, but then it walked the rest of the way to get to Paris to the king! Upon her arrival, there was a parade and festivities to celebrate the beautiful giraffe.

I loved this book, and I thought it was so interesting that it is a true story! I would love to learn more about the giraffe that walked to Paris a

An interesting story about a little known fact in history. Would be good for a 1st grader doing their very first book report. Or a child interested in giraffes.

As an adult, I was interested in the epilogue on the true story, but a little creeped out by the taxidermy photo on the last page.
Excellent! Highly reccomend for children!
