I'm glad I finally got round to reading Wuthering Hearts: it certainly lightened my day! It's aimed at a younger audience but I did like reading it, however I didn't love it mainly because it's a bit too childish for me. I'm sure I would've enjoyed and appreciated much more if I had read it when I was younger.

I had to give this 5 stars, why? Because I've enjoyed it a lot more than other things I've read recently. I picked it up because I had seen the title floating about, and the cover is so endearing (not to mention the reference to a classic) I just had to take it.

Wuthering Hearts was a very cute and very sweet retelling of Wuthering Heights. Emily wants play Cathy to Robert's Heathcliff in the school play. Robert is new to her school and no one knows what his story is. He is Heathcliff to a tee, dark, brooding, aloof and then he moves in with Emily and her family, he is charming to her until he gets to school and his personality has flipped and he is back to brooding and standoffish. She is falling for Charming Robert even thought Miserable Robert showed...more
After reading a lot of YA, this cute fluffy book was the perfect next read for me. Although it's blatantly obvious it's aimed at younger readers, I still found it appealing and easily got lost in the story. Kay's writing fits the style of the book but it's not patronising or tries to act too young, like I've noticed with other books. There's plenty of humour and mix ups too, plus a brooding love interest to throw in to the mix. A particularly interesting thing for me was this book's setting West...more
