Cyndy Szekeres (pronounced "zeck-er-es") is the daughter of a toolmaker, Stephen Szekeres, and his wife Anna Ceplousky Szekeres. In 1954, Szekeres earned a certificate from the Pratt Institute in New York. Szekeres has illustrated over 40 children's books, and is best known for her animal characters.
