Loved this book. It's about ideals and the life at a time of slavery. It's the basic good verus evil style plot with the aftermath of the "good ones". Sometimes good doesn't always win.
Gerlinde
The story is about Raoul and his wife Josephine, and her two sisters, Agnes and Cecile. They live in France, but have to leave when the Edict of Nantes is going to be revoked. They go to Holland but they dont like it there, so they decide to go to Suriname where they will start their own plantation. The biggest part of the book tells about how they live on that plantation and how they cope with the different country, the slavery and the people there.
