A short story about a bioengineered yogurt which takes over the world. Inspired by a random throwaway comment in his Whatever blog, which apparently just stuck in his mind until he wrote about it.

WELCOME TO DECEMBER PROJECT!

last year, amy(other amy) tipped me off to this cool thing she was doing: the short story advent calendar, where you sign up to this thingie here and you get a free story each day.

i dropped the ball and by the time i came to my senses, it had already sold out, so for december project, i'm going rogue and just reading a free online story a day of my choosing. this foolhardy endeavor is going to screw up my already-deep-in-the-weeds review backlog, so i don't think i w

I think this is one of the most bizarre stories I've ever read. Interesting and thought provoking, but bizarre.

Scalzi is just so much fun to read. The story is every bit as ridiculous as the title suggests, and I mean that in a good way.

Hilarious. Ridiculous and absurd in all the best ways. Even thinking of it now makes me want to laugh. Great short story.

What if no one in this world could run it better than genetically modified yogurt? And what if they solved all the problems but then maybe decided to move away, say to another world? Unfortunately this story does not answer these questions but satires our own world and poses these very real questions. Good read to kill 10min anyways.

If you like Scalzi's humour, you'll want to check this short story. It's not entirely my cup of tea, and I feel this story takes it to the limit. It's an easy read, though, and worth to see: a different kind of "what if" than the usual dystopia.
This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For
Classic Scalzi weirdness with a little political message about the self-destructibility of the human race thrown in for good measure.

I was confused by this at first, but after looking up the article, I was pleasantly surprised. It gave yogurt "power" and was humorous.
