I read the 17th book out of the many in the Magic Tree House series. These books do have some order, as every group of 4 books have a special ongoing mission for Jack and Annie. However, if they are read out of order, the reader is not lost because each book is its own story and own plot line. These books are short chapter books with some pictures throughout the pages.
