This book was a very cold book, meaning I felt cold imagining about it. It was the kind of adventure that afterwards made me want to snuggle up under my covers and go to sleep and dream of the Northern Lights and the mystics of the ice and snow up in the far North where it is bitingly cold.
This adventure was warm at its heart and fantastic in its impact on my young life.

Jack and Annie go to the Magic Tree House for an adventure. The Magic Tree House lets them travel to different places and different times. This time they find themselves in the Arctic. A seal hunter shows up with a sled and some warm clothes for them. Jack had a scrol with a riddle on it. It said I cover what's real and hide what's true. But sometimes I bring out the courage in you. What am I? He also had a book that told them about the Arctic that helped them know what to do. They hav

My favorite of the riddle series.Polar Bears Past Bedtime is the final in the series where Jack and Annie are trying to become Master Librarians. It's the twelfth in the Magic Tree House series.
Jack and Annie go to the arctic circle where they met with an Inuit and learn how to live in the harsh snowy winters. They see how humans, animals and the elements are all tied together.
The book also introduces some of the Inuit traditions (ceremonies, beliefs and art). These detai More...

#1(as in first) Chapter book read with Annabelle for Kindergarten homework.
Annabelle says she doesn't "remember it, but it was a little amazing." Funny.
Another good Magic Tree House.

This was a cute, educational book for kids. It was pretty much just like all the other tree house books, but I actually learned a thing or two along with my son, so I do like these books.

Jack and his little sister Annie are two regular kids from Frog Creek, Pennsylvania... until they discover a mysterious tree house full of all sorts of books. From that point on their lives will never be the same again! They soon go on amazing adventures (plus children are learning bits of history and most don't realize it) as they travel through time with the help of the magic tree house. The chapters are short with pictures every few pages, making these books perfect from the beginning reader.

There was a riddle that says "I cover what's real and hide what's true. But sometimes I bring courage in you. What am I ?" AT FIRST i don't know the answer but when i read i get it in second sentence before they tell the answer.I like the author as she put a lot of interesting and amazing facts that I can't believe.they say the people in arctic learn to make igloos , how to hunt seals and to survive in the thin ice by not even a cracking sound when they got struck, they learn it from the

Magic Tree House books are great for science. This is a magical series that takes kids to far away places where they have amazing adventures. Polar Bears Past Bedtime takes place in the artic. If you were teaching a lesson about the artic, you could read this book aloud to your class. It makes the artic feel more alive.

I liked this book because it was interesting. It was interesting because I learnt that people can learn from animals and igloo means house. I also liked it because I like Jack and Annie books. It talks about the Northern Lights. In the book it says that the Northern Lights are AMAZING! I liked it because Jack and Annie met a seal hunter and a polar bear. The riddle was I cover what`s real and hide what`s true but sometimes I bring out courage in you what am I? the answer was mask.

This book is interesting because of how Jack and Annie go to the Arctic. They find this seal hunter that helps them. And they find little polar bear cubs and get lost accidentally. After that, they find the mother bear who is 10 feet tall! And Jack and Annie are about 4 feet. I liked how the polar bears taught Jack and Annie how to do stuff, like slide on the ice. I just think this book is so cool. And Annie knows animal language and I think that's really neat.

My generic review for the Magic Tree House books -
We've loved them all so far. They are fun, easy to read and contain quite a bit of historical information. We use them as read-alouds, but most elementary/middle school kids could read them on their own.
It does have a touch of 'girl power' at the expense of making the brother seem a little dumb. That kinda bugs. But it's not obvious and my boys haven't noticed. They think Jack is just as cool as his sister.

My 4 yo and I are enjoying these short early chapter books. There is just enough adventure and danger to make a good story he can follow, as well as enough for me to enjoy. The bonus is these are "edutainment," so we both learn a few new facts. The book is full of information about Arctic animals -- My son liked the info on how people learned to live in such cold places and the "flying" polar bears.

This was one of the toughest books to get through for us. For some reason, the plot just didn't hold our girls' interest until the end, of course, when Jack and Annie solve their riddle...through to the end when they become Master Librarians. As the fourth and final book in this mini-series, I thought they'd want to read it very quickly, but I found that they got bored with the early chapters.

Jack and Annie are transported to the frozen tundra to solve another riddle. They are met by a seal hunter who provides warm clothes made out of sealskin, and they have an adventure involving two adorable polar bear cubs. They learn a lot of great facts about the arctic, and about how humans can learn valuable lessons from animals.
Beginning chapter book, fantasy, Magic Tree House.

My son and I enjoyed reading this book at bedtime. We have enjoyed reading most of the Magic Tree House books as part of our bedtime routine. My son enjoys learning about animals and science, so many of these books have been up his enjoyment alley. Even the books that you think would be mostly about history have an animal point of view, thanks to Annie's love of animals.

The Magic Tree House transportss Jack and Annie to the freezing Arctic.
There, they must solve the final riddle to become master librarians. But it's
not going to be easy--especially when they have cracking ice, a seal hunter,
and a prodigious polar bear to deal with. Will they be able to solve the riddle
before they get iced themselves?

The first Magic Tree House I've tried with my kids - I know it's out of order, but it's fine - we're learning about the arctic and it happened to be on the shelf at the library so I grabbed it. It's a hit! Grabbed their interest right away and they didn't want me to stop reading at bedtime. I have a feeling we'll be going through these fast.

An owl appears outside the window of Jack and he gets Annie and they go in their pajamas to the tree house and they are sent on their final mission for Morgana. After this mission they become Master Librarians. The learn that polar bears can fly (it is the way they look when they go across ice that is very thin).

I liked this book because I thought it was interesting. It was interesting because I thought nobody lived in the Arctic. But, it turned out eskomos live there. I also liked how the Northern Lights appeared and Annie thought it was the "Bear Spirits." I was getting confused with Eve of the Emperor Penguin.

Not my favorite story overall, but good facts in this one, including a few I didn't know. And I sure do want to be a Master Librarian! As will a whole generation of kids, I'm sure. It will be interesting to see what libraries are like when they are grown-ups.

There was thin ice and the polar bears taught Jack and Annie how to get across without getting it cracked. I learned even though a polar bear is really really heavy he can go on its tummy and slide on that thin ice without breaking it.

Jack and Annie get transported to the far north, meet an inuit, some polar bear cubs and a mother bear. Will they find the final clue to become master librarians? or will the polar bear mother be eating them for breakfast?
