”You weren’t supposed to matter.”

Boston Kincaid screwed up BIG TIME with Ellie Trenton in college. She has remained in his heart as the girl he LET get away. Now ten years later, a note from a young girl arrives at his brother’s house and his whole world gets shaken up as Ellie and her daughter enter it.

”I messed up with you,” he reminded her. “Not her.”

Boston was terrified of love and Ellie Trenton in college and so ten years later to find out that he has a ten year daughter and
The "hero" of this story is an unrepentant, cheating , classist asswhipe yet the heroine is the one cast in the negative light? I can't even.. description

Warning: spoilers, spoilers everywhere

Nineteen year old Ellie falls in love with twenty two year old Boston. They date for seven months. She gives him her virginity, her love, her trust, hopes and foolish teenage dreams of a future with the man she thought he was. Only the problem was, he had no intention of being with her in the long run. While she

Overall, I enjoyed reading this engaging, angsty, and full of drama book. For those who love the "secret baby" plotline that features a jerky, self absorbed hero that is also forgivable and redeemable, then this book is for you. My goodness, the hero was a first class jerk during the flashback segments of this story. Although I may not have cared for him during those parts of the book, I did end up like him during the current time segments of the story.

As for the heroine, well, I foun

I must say I liked this one…. Kinda reminded me of the old Mills and Boon I read in yonder years…. Too young, misunderstandings, deceit. I know I have read a few books like this where the Hero doesn’t realize he has a child. The Hero was a bit of an ass in the flashbacks to College life but he does redeem himself.

As much as I love the idea of Linda Kage's Price of a Kiss, I decided I needed a Harlequinesque re-read of one of my favs, Delinquent Daddy. It's just as crazy as it sounds!

"It ended so horribly for us," Ellie went on, ignoring Nora's sarcastic complaint. "I don't think I can get past that. How can I ever trust him again?"'
"A bad past can be fixed," Nora said. "A quiet, lonely future is just...sad."

I really enjoyed this book, it was a very well done second chance at love story and I loved the fact that we get to go back in time and see the start of the relationship and even the end of it. Most of all what worked for me was that the author could convincingly show that the hero Boston had matured from the 22 year old selfish jerk he had been.

When the book opens, it is raining and the hero is remembering the best sex of his life, which happened nearly a decade ago with the heroine in the rain
Boston is NOT my kind of hero. You cheat, you're out.
Hence the reason why I couldn't finish this one.
I cannot even call this guy a "Hero"

He is narcissistic cheater!

Not only that he kept the heroine a dirty secret from shame..just because she was poor, just spoke BIG VOLUME about his poor, one minded, selfish and judgmental that suppose to make me like him as a person? NOT EVER! Then add to that he treated her like insignificant, dirty garbage just for his shallow, selfish purpose..his sexual butty call...and when she got pregnant and confronted him, his reaction was one that cou

As one of my GR friends claimed in her review about this book, you'd better grab a box of tissues and brace yourself for an emotional ride...and she was absolutely right!

Delinquent Daddy had my attention from the first page. The premise of the book intrigued me, and being a parent myself, touched me on so many different levels. "Boston Kincaid," is a young, successful attorney who, 10 years ago, was in love with a woman, "Ellie Trenton," while they both attended the University of Kansas. Ellie,

This book could have gotten a higher rating from me, but in the end it felt rushed. Not sure why. Maybe the author got a bit tired of the story, or maybe she ran out of time or space, but whatever, there was an injustice done to these lovely characters with this books rushed ending.

Ever heard the saying, "love is wasted on the young"? This story really is about strong feelings at such a young, inexperienced age. Thinking these feelings will happen with just anyone... Then jumping ahead ye
i usually like these "hidden baby" genres but seriously, i think this one pissed me off QUITE a bit.

Well it was a story with lot of potential about a college couple that meets after ten long years and would been better had it been tighter. He was a young cheating shirking asshat and she, a sweet trusting teenage virgin, with a secret child thrown in down the line. He is ambitious and so doesn’t want liabilities, responsibilities and certainly no commitments so her unplanned pregnancy sends him off his rocker into an aggressive denial and blame mode. She thinks it best to let him think she has ...more

Ellie loved Boston with everything she had. She thought Boston loved her. Until he cheated on her in college.
When she told him he was pregnant he flipped his shit! After all they had broken up, she wasn’t rich, he was therefore she was trying to trap him.
He accepted the pregnancy eventually…
By then it was too late. Ellie was in an accident and lost the baby….
She told Boston to get out of her life forever….

Montgomery Kincaid received a letter from a little girl stating she was his daughter.

Reading this without any expectations beforehand is the main reason I think why I enjoyed this. This offers completely nothing new but I was gripped.

The secret baby trope is something that I've always been fond of reading and this doesn't exactly stray away from those I have read before that share the exact same plot. What I think made the difference is that for the first time, I was actually truly infuriated with both the main characters here. Them making my blood boiling was enough reason for

I wasn't supposed to like this book, but apparently I enjoyed and liked it! It was even better than the first one! But sadly, there's no epilogue in it :(

Overall, I gave a solid four star for this book! (by the way, I read it just in one sitting, and I forgot to eat any meals while reading it haha! :P)

Go ahead and pull out the tissues because this book is a tearjerker!

I had my first Linda Kage experience a couple of days ago. It was such an amazing experience that I went on a three day bender: Day One: The Trouble with Tomboys, Day Two: How to Resist Prince Charming, Day Three: Delinquent Daddy.

I read Delinquent Daddy in one sitting. I started it one night after work and stayed up until 2 o’clock in the morning to finish it. T

I already liked Linda Kage the moment I got my hand on The Trouble with Tomboys . I fell in love with her characters their - but it had not prepared me for this one! I'm so not THAT head over hills with the characters - but the plot was definitely:

Tearjerker! Totally!

What happens when your past comes knocking on your door bearing a letter from your daughter who was asking if he was her daddy? AWKWARD!!

Linda Kage's books are like potato chips - it's hard to read just one! After finishing The Stillburrow Crush, I read a great review of this one by Reading, Eating & Dreaming I Was Blair Waldorf (an awesome reviewer, btw! that girl reads up a storm and writes thoughtful and clever reviews!) that made it sound like fun, so here I am. And it is definitely fun, although occasionally a little bit of the maddening, can't you two get it together and just communicate variety. I had more trouble forg ...more

Heart Fucking Wrenching!! I cried all the time while I was reading this!

I was trying to stop myself from crying but the tears won't stop!!

So I let the tears drop cried so hard up to 3 in the Efing morning...

And my Mom was shouting at to go to sleep but I can't stop reading it, my eyes are sore from crying and reading in the dark! Ugh!

THIS type of stories are my cup of tea, I'm used to stories that relationship took breaks because of unfortunate events or incidents that was premeditated by fami

4 Stars! I liked this one a little more than the first book!

Don't be fooled by what you think you know about the characters, because you really don't. My only issue was the race to the finish, and the convenient way events played out. It could have really used an epilogue too. Still worth checking out. Make sure you read Hot Commodity first, you'll appreciate Boston Kincaid so much more.
Wonderful emotional second chance at love story, disliked Boston he was a selfish mean immature cruel man though in ten years he redeemed himself a little but still i was angry at him for constantly potraying himself as injured party inspite of the way he behaved with Ellie:(Adored Ellie she was a strong woman and a great mother, loved Boston's family, this one is a keeper for me.

Overall a great read
Recommend it.

I really wanted to like this book, and it started out well, but somewhere along the way it just stopped working for me.

The Good

- I liked the letter that started this whole story off, from Cassie.
- Boston's family were great, and I definitely want to read more about Cam & Olivia.
- The brief flashbacks to the couple's past were just enough to give me an insight into how things were, without boring me.
- I was never bored.
- Elora's name was really cool. I know that isn
Boston Kincaid finds out he has a daughter. A nine-year-old child he didn’t know existed. It was a lifetime ago he last saw sweet Ellie Trenton. Things ended badly between them, but thoughts of her still linger in his mind. When he confronts the mother of his kid, the woman who kept their daughter from him all these years, he doesn’t expect to be drawn to her despite the anger and confusion he’s feeling. Ellie is shocked to see the past catch up to her. She’s angry at Boston for how he treated h ...more

Grrrr! I wish this book had, had an epilogue. I waited for so long, rooted so hard and didn't even get to see them happily ever after together. Sigh.

Other than that, I really enjoyed this read. Both Boston and Ellie made some mistakes but I could understand both of their motives and feelings (both past and present). I was so happy they were together at the end.

Wish I had read this one sooner.

I loved this story! It had me hooked from the start. It was an emotional roller coaster and I felt as though my heart was going to burst right out of my chest pretty much the whole time I was reading it. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I would more than likely read her again. The beginning and middle of the store kept me interested but the end felt too rushed and wrapped up too neatly for me.
Fun and sexy... a reading pleasure you don't want to miss.

Linda Kage is starting to be one of my very favorite authors.

Simply fabulous!

This is such a good story. This was not as heavy and dramatic as I expected it to be and for me, that is a good thing. Its basically, life as we know it when things don't go as planned, hits you in the face and changes everything you believed would be constant. The usual "self-preserving" characters are there but the plot was very good. The flashbacks were not jumbled and it was coordinated with the present really well. Characters were presented realistically and just made me realize that wh ...more

What can I say about this book? I didn't like it so much. I am sorry but that damned Ellie just killed me with her attitude and behavior. As a single mother, I know and I understand that she was hurt by what Boston did when they were in school, but I still don't agree with a woman giving birth to a child and not telling the man that she had the baby. It was bad enough she lied to him about not being pregnant anymore, but then to hold a grudge against Boston, lik
