I started 2 years ago reading through the Bible with a different translation. I had always used the King James version and thought it would be good to branch out. The first year I used the ESV and this year I have just finished the God's Word translation. It is in easy to understand language and brought to my attention some verses I had not noticed before.

Recommends it for: Bible glancers.
Recommended to Tamara by: I did. it had a pretty cover.
this translation is not very good compared to others. I will finish reading it once and then buy another translation. i gave it the one star just because it's the Bible.

Update...I gave this Bible away having not finished it and started another one.

I love this translation - very easy to read, without the meaning being "dumbed down".
