Professional greyhound trainer, Kat McKinley, is a soft touch. When she's talked into having sex with a guy who's just not her type, a romp so pathetic it registers minus ten on a sex-to-die-for scale, she decides to end the relationship. When Kat wakes the next morning to find Mr Wham-Bam sprawled beside her, a knife embedded in his left nipple, she wishes she'd ended the ...more

This cozy mystery was fantabulous! It had a ton of humour in just the right places. It had two hunky men - Scuzz and Ben - who could easily make your tongue waggle and your lips drool. And it had a great amateur PI - Katrina the greyhound trainer. I loved that while this story revolved around greyhound racing and training, the dogs didn't take p most of the story. Kat McKinley is a greyhound trainer. She’s just had subpar sex with another trainer who is now snoring next to her when her greyhounds start barking. She goes down to quiet them, goes back upstairs, gets in bed and decides to wake Romeo for another round. However, he’s stopped snoring, feels a bit clammy and…is that a knife in his chest?! Quirky, breezy, and racy (pun intended), Chasing Can Be Murder is laced with just enough Australian idiom to let a Yank know she’s not in Kansas. Hardboiled protagonist, Kat, is easily the randiest chick detective I’ve run across; women readers will appreciate her witty quips about men and life. The clever author, June Whyte, concocts well written offbeat fun.

Totally picked this up because of the greyhound theme. Not a bad war to spend an afternoon, but mostly forgettable.
