The Rewritten Word: How to Sculpt Literacy Art no Matter the Genre – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat
‘There is more to writing than putting many words to paper and more to rewriting than rearranging those words. Dreaming about writing won’t get you anywhere, and writing a thousand words a day won’t help unless you know what to do with those words.’
I don’t write novels but do occasionally write short articles pertaining to a dish I’ve just created or some other food relat...more

Aggie's book is a quick read that can fit in your pocket. However, it is packed with useful information, with a step-by-step guide on what to look for when you rewrite. It even includes examples and instructions on how to take a piece you have written and make it better. Her techniques apply to all types of writing, from fiction to web articles.

Aggie delivers a power-packed small booklet for authors, literary professionals, and even editors to review for their writing or works they are editing. She explains the importance of rewriting for authors, even if you don't understand how to do it. There are several examples on rewriting by omitting adverbs with endings of 'ly', verboten, first person, past/present/future tenses, and much more. She quotes from "Elements of Style" with use of numerals, anything 10 and up, can write as number ins...more

The Rewritten Word is a brilliant little book! Villanueva tackles the "how-to" subject of writing with concise examples, lessons and exercises designed to help both the novice and established author. The information can be applied to fiction and nonfiction, as well as full length books, articles and essays.
This is not a dry read or boring guide. Villanueva entertains while she goes about demonstrating her points. A must for anyone looking to make his or her writing more dynamic.

Aggie Villanueva hits the subject square in thejaw. I can't tell you how many times I've read a book, or tried to read a book, but have been turned off by the over use of words. Really. Sometimes, most of the time, less is more. Say what you mean and get on with it.
Aggie teaches authors that it's ok to get to the point, in fact, it makes your writing more interesting.
This is a book for every writer. Short, sweet and to the point!
