I will probably end up dropping this rating down after I have read more of this genre and realise that this is not erotica at its best, but for now this novel gets 5 stars because it astounded me.

When perusing goodreads and book depository for erotic romance after being introduced to it largely by Sylvia Day and of course Fifty Shades I often found myself wondering 'How can an erotic novel by dubbed a 'romance' when there is menage/group sex/sharing? I couldn't undertstand how love can be told...more

First this is definitely a book for those over 21 with an open mind. That being said, it is not quite up to the classic Story of O but it could be said that it is the 21st Centuries version of it. For those of you that know how I review books, particularly when other...more

So....

The story was really disjointed. Rita meets Edward on a train and they have an, at least to me, pretty meh sexual encounter. The encounter happens in the dark and Rita does not know what Edward looks like. This becomes an annoyingly repetitive detail throughout the story and does not match the supposed deep seated lust/love that Rita has for Edward.

Rita's experiences with the members of the high council was very hot and heavy (the scene with the Harley and the cat suit? Yowza...) and incl...more

Rita Holly is on a train when the power goes out. She's feeling claustrophobic, but lucky for her, Edward, the gentleman who bumps into her in the dark aisle, wants to help her out...a hot kiss to take her mind off things soon leads to mind-blowing sex, on the train, and when they part, she realizes she never even saw his face.

Once she's home, she wants to find him again. Her roommate playfully texts him, pretending to be Rita, and he texts her back that he'd like to see her again. They arrange...more

Whilst on the Eurostar, during a power failure, Rita Holly has a crazy, sexy encounter with the mysterious Edward—in complete darkness.

From this very first, deliciously described scene, I knew I was going to love this book—and I did.

Once home, Rita becomes obsessed with finding Edward again. It doesn’t take long—he’s keen to find her too. Once again it is a blind, sexy adventure in the mysterious Mount. (I shan’t spoil any of the plot here because that would be unforgivable.)

The story moves on...more

Rita Holly, a journalist, has a chance encounter on a stalled train with Edward. And so begins her initiation into a club called The Mount. There were parts that felt sinister, parts that felt strange, and parts that made me squirm. I admit the last third of the book gripped me and had me racing to finish, much to the dismay of my eyes. It was almost too long for me to manage as an ebook and I would've preferred paperback, but that's a physical limitation that has nothing to do with the book.

Let me start off by stating that The Initiation of Ms. Holly is so hot I am still tingling a day after I finished reading this novel. Ms. Grace gives us a tale that is so passionately raw that you will feel as if you have been stripped to the bone. The way Rita kept going back to the initiations even though she promised herself time and again that she would not, gave us a real look into her head. I saw how she seemed to struggle with her passionate side, and how the sex was almost like an addict...more

After reading Body temperature and Rising and Surrogate I have found I love and enjoy the style KD Grace has with her books. This was no exception, I was entrapped right from the first few pages.

From the very first page I wanted to know more about the main character Rita Holly, KD has a knack of making us love all the characters making them feel so real, making us feel emotionally connected to them, its written in such a way it feels it could become a reality for any one of us. That is very erot...more

I received this book as a review copy in return for an honest review.
What an enjoyable book to read. It starts off with two strangers coming together in an erotic encounter when the power goes out and their train is stopped. And while the train eventually makes it back to the station, the erotic train ride has just begun. The book takes the reader through a variety of adult situations as the two main characters try to develop a relationship. While the sex was steamy the plot kept you reading rig...more

It took me out if my comfort zone (just a little too much sharing for me) - but that isn't what gets it 2 stars. The story felt really disjointed to me. It felt like some things were never explained, and others should have been explained much earlier. In the end I have no idea why Rita would go though all of this for a guy she barely knew. I mean, it wasn't just sex with lots if people (which to my knowledge was something way out of character for Rita, but the kinds of sex, humiliation and borde...more

“I received this book as a review copy in return for an honest review”
Two strangers having sex is a great way to start off a book.
Little did Rita know that this was only the beginning.
Oh to be put thru so many trials that would involve sex of some sort with god knows who. What is the price you would pay to be initiated in an exclusive club?
Well Rita was put to the test and I don’t want to give it away but let’s just say she had a wild ride. KD Grace wrote a deliciously sex filled book and I enjo...more

This is the first full-length erotic novel I have read and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. The characters are real people, the description is beautiful and the story is satisfying. Although I fell for a secondary character, Alex rather than one of the main characters Edward, still each to their own. The story begins with a wonderfully erotic scene in the dark and then takes us on the journey that Ms Holly has to take for initiation into an old and secret sex cult. The scenes she...more

This is one of those books that walks the line between completly terrible and brilliant. The Initiation of Ms. Holly had amazing sex, ok to good characters, and a silly plot. The writing is good, which keeps the many of the annoying plot devices from becoming unbearable. Tired tropes: claustrophobia, the ridiculously evil bitchy woman, the parental deus ex machina. The romance wasn't especially engaging. But the main character never becomes too stupid to live, and she's never stupidly innocent....more

I don't know what to say about this story. It was extremely hard for me to continue, there were many parts where the sex seemed unsafe, everyone seemed to have sex with each other and NO ONE EVER PUT ON PROTECTION. Between the multiple partners, guy on guy, girl on girl, acting like your an animal in a zoo or someones slave. There were many times i was going to put it down and not finish BUT a part of me wanted to know how such a barbaric story ended. It was not my cup of tea. however i am not k...more

Very EROTIC: 21+ Have an open mind as this book has m/f m/m f/f m/m/f sex in it!

I had never read anything remotely like this and I was a little taken aback at Holly and Edwards meeting on the Eurostar that has had a black out. They see each other but feel each other let's just say at this point! The story takes place in London. She is a journalist and Edward well he is an enigma of sorts. He wears a mask and is part of the Dais at a club called The Mount. This book follows Ms. Holly's attempt a...more

In my journey of finding books with a "fifty" type feel to them I came across this book, this has so much more of the strange, kinky BDSM type things going on. I found I had to read this one in private due to the embarrassing thought of someone actually looking over my shoulder and reading any of the number of dirty things that's written on just about every page! Despite that fact, I still enjoyed reading about all the naughty occurrences, it's not a life altering type of book or anything, but n...more

I highly recommend this book! 5 stars from me! As soon as I read the scene in the blacked out train involving a chocolate truffle…omg! That was it, I was in love! This book is a great read; it’s everything you want in a romantic, erotic, sexual novel. The characters are very well written, you really connect with them and feel for them, and I think that just makes reading much more exciting. I couldn’t wait to turn the page and now that I’m done I must admit I’m a little sad, but I look forward t...more

Goodreads First Read - This was a tantilising book with a compelling story that grips the reader from the start. No formal introduction is made to the characters, however their development happens quickly and it adds to the reader's image of the action.

I shared this one with my wife as written erotica seems to be more entertaining for us than viewing. We were both pleased with what we were reading together and loved the descriptions within the book as well as the plot development. An excellent r...more

I received this book today, thanks to the first reads offer and Xcite. I've read the first three chapters this evening, but I may not be able to return to it for a few days, so I will give my first impressions.

In case you haven't yet realised, this is erotica. Lots of sex and some BDSM thrown in. I think this book is intended to appeal to a female audience, but what I have read so far also works for the male of the species.

This is more readable than some erotica from other sources. The writing w...more

I’ve never read Erotica before but I had this sent to me to review through this site. I enjoyed it, it’s not the type of book that can be read start to finish, for me it was more of a dip in, dip out book. I loved the characters, especially Rita and Edward but some of the characters infuriated me a bit.

Good sexy fun in the book with very explicit, descriptive acts going on, It felt quite naughty just reading it, I think the author must have a very vivid imagination to come up with some of the th...more

I have got to say that I was really surprised with this book. After reading 50 Shades of Grey I didn’t think I would find another book as well written, but then I read “The Initiation of Ms. Holly” and I was immediately taken in. This book is sexy, erotic and explosive. I didn’t want to put it down and I still have dreams about certain parts in the book. I really enjoyed the authors writing style and will definitely read more books by K.D. Grace.

A chance encounter in the dark on a train with a stranger leads Rita into the wonderland of a secret sex cult. Unfortunately, she's got to get through everyone else in the cult before she can finally meet her beloved stranger face to face.

Certainly very steamy, this novel will appeal to those with a kinky side. Not being much of an erotic reader, I found the smut a little repetitive and the s&m situations a little clichee, but there was no lack of heat nor variety, and there's enough plot to...more

Wow... I finished this up in one day and it wasn't just the porn (though it was lovely porn) it had the most interesting storyline driving it that I couldn't put it down. It is quite raunchy, you may want to give it a miss if you're even slightly prudish in your reading habits, and don't try reading it in a public place.

Well -- the book starts out with a bang, but ends with a snooze. Considering how much sex there is in this story, it should keep you turning the pages, but it doesn't.

Rita, after falling hard for Edward, agrees to undergo an "initiation," at The Mount, an exclusive BDSM club. Vivienne, a member of The Mount's governing board, is jealous of Edward's feelings for Rita, and she sabotages Rita's efforts.

It was difficult to feel sympathy for any of these characters. Rita was sometimes TSTL, Edward wa...more

Imaginative and arousing sexual fantasy featuring an insatiable, polymorphously perverse heroine reminiscent of Fanny Hill. Read my upcoming detailed review at Erotica Revealed (http://www.eroticarevealed.com). Great fun!

Ugh.
There were some "interesting" situations but overall the book is trashy and lacks a real plot. Characters are pretty flat. But then again, considering why most of the book describes, perhaps that is suitable.

I have just finished this book for the second time- it is totally amazing. Every chapter delivers a new erotic hit- top drawer sexy escapism, with a touch of romance tucked in, in the most unexpected way.
If you haven't read KD's top novel, you're missing something a bit special

The Initiation of Ms. Holly is pure porn with very little plot and character development. With that being said, it was very hot steamy porn but I think the story is better suited for a short story and not a full length novel.

I like reading erotica from time to time but if it's in the form of a novel I want some actual plot and characters I can care about. The Initiation of Ms. Holly was just too much and I quickly got tired of all the sex (yes, you read correctly).

If you just want to check your...more

K D Grace was born with a writing obsession. It got worse once she actually learned HOW to write. There's no treatment for it. It's progressive and chronic and quite often interferes with normal, everyday functioning. She might actually be concerned if it wasn't so damned much fun most of the time.

Her erotica has been published with Xcite Books, Mammoth, Cleis Press, Black Lace, Erotic Review, Ra...more
