I've read Gale Stanley before and thought I would try this story. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. I had to see what happened next. I love to see flawed characters grow and redeem themselves, and that’s exactly what happens in this story. The heroine, a female wolf-shifter, was a villain in a previous book, 'Call of the Wilds', so when she was captured by two hunters who hate wolves, it seemed like she might get what she deserved. The men treat her badly at first, but gradually all three ...more

I was very excited to review Mating Call after reading the first book in the Black Wolf Gorge series, Call of the Wilds. Gale Stanley's writing does not disappoint. She expertly pulls you into the world she creates and keeps you there. I was a bit worried that this series moved into ménage territory, but even though it is clear that this author is new to ménage, it was successfully done.

Sable is captured by two hunters that are known for their hate towards wolves after animals

A love story of a different kind. Twins and a hot Lycan shifter can only spell HOT!!!! I really liked this story. Jude (the hunter) captures Sable in wolf form in order for Jonas (the scientist) to "experiment" on her and see how her species differs from humans. However, once Sable goes into heat, all bets are off. The twins are torn between the heat they each feel for her and their own brotherly bond. What starts out as just raw, sizzling sex soon turns into true feelings. I've read a few menag ...more

First book I've read by this author and this author deserve A+. It was perfectly written. It had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Lots of twist and turns. At no one point I could have tell what was going to happen and I love that. And I am happy the author did not ramble on and on, so there was no need for me to skip pages just to get to the real meat of the story like I would sometimes do with those boring authors. I'm now going to try another book by this author, hope its just a ...more

Definitely a different twist for a menage story. I read the first book in the series and I like the way the characters change and grow in this one.

I was so glad that I was able to do the series of these books. They all flowed together quite nicely and it made for not only interesting read but an enjoyable read.
I will continue to read works from this author.

4 1/2 STARS

This story has humor, love, and forgiveness. I recommend reading "Call of the Wilds" first.

I don't think I have ever hated the men in an erotic novel as much as I did in this one. The sex was fine, just the way I like it, but the pillow talk left much to be desired. If I had been Sable I probably would have taken a frying pan to a couple of hard heads. I didn't get the connection between mates I would have liked to have had. They treat her like crap and she takes it and then lets herself go right back to it after she had escaped. I have to say this really pissed me off.

I liked the first book a lot better. At first, I really hated Jude, but he began to grow on me and then turned out to be the better brother. I thought Sable was a much stronger character in the 1st book. I was disappointed when I read this one. I expected her to be much stronger willed and have a much stronger character in the 2nd book like she did in the 1st.
It wasn't a bad read, just okay.

Book 2 in the series. Could stand alone, but better if you read book 1 first.

I liked the first in this series more but it was tough to create a heroine out of a villian. Now on to book three in the series...
