Bloody Monday starts off big: conspiracy, Russian espionage, a viral outbreak. Now, if this were a Hollywood movie, we’d be seeing the likes of Jason Bourne or James Bond rushing to contain the damage. But, since this is a Japanese manga, we have as our hero a teenage hacker.
Fujimaru TAKAGI, a 2nd year and a staff member at the school newspaper, has a secret life as the famous hacker "Falcon." He was out of commission for a while, but an incident involving a lecherous...more

I was first introduced to this manga a couple of years ago, when I often read manga for free online. I never finished it, because I found out that it would be available in manga format. I love to support my favorite manga, so I decided I wouldn't read anymore until I bought them. I never got around to buying them until around Christmas time in 2012, and I have to say Bloody Monday is about as bloody amazing as I remember!

The marketing for this book describes it as a YA 24, which is more or less accurate, though Ryumon at least has a passing understanding of computer security, which is more than you can say for anyone involved with 24. When the main character needs to hack military-grade encryption, he doesn't do it in a couple keystrokes like Chloe; instead he spreads a virus through a P2P network that turns infected machines into part of a distributed computing network, giving him the equivalent of a supercompu...more
I've got a favorite new manga series XD Bloody Monday is an excellent set up -- a genius hacker teen and his plucky friends get pulled into a world of espionage, super-viruses, and murder as they try to figure out the secret behind encrypted Russian files. And yes, it is a bloody secret, but you are on the edge of your seat the whole time.
This story is a tense and tight thriller that will leave you flipping the pages as fast as you can. Plus there is just a little bit of sexy subtext and a dash...more

What Takagi doesn't realize is that he's playing a game in which the safety of the entire world is at stake, failure means a deadly plague will ravage the lands; and the enemy is even closer than Takagi realizes. This is a fun...more
