What a bizarre book. I read lots of children's books these days (it's my job), but this one really takes the cake. I've seen the movie Tangled, on which this is based, and I know that in Tangled the plot doesn't involve a wide-eyed simpleton going on an epic quest... to look at colors. In this book that's all that happens. She bumbles around and gets amazed by pretty colors. There are actual stills from the movie, stills which evoke the movie's plot, but the words are reduced to merely listing a ...more

Disney's Tangled: Kingdom of Color; Reading Level 1 of the Step into Reading books by Random House. (Stepintoreading.com)

Step 1 is “Ready to Read” for Preschool-Kindergarten “Does your child know the alphabet? Is your child eager to begin reading?” Step 1 is the perfect step! Big type and easy words / Rhyme and Rhythm / Picture Clues.

The book cover is colorful and appealing – especially in response to the Disney film, Tangled. Within are bright illustrations, minimal words, and large font used f

My 6 year old son recently borrowed this book from out local library.

This book has a few of the characters from the Tangled movie. They go on a adventure and discover many colorful things. The book is simple text even though a few of the words may be a little difficult for the recommended age. It has bright and colorful illustration. A beginners book to help with learning colors.

The illustrations in this book are really pretty. The library copy I had actually had a sticker covering the Kingdom of Color subtitle, so that was frustrating. At first, I was like, "Did they really just try to rhyme color with color...?" But I digress. The words are easy to read and Tangled fans will definitely be into reading this one. This book is missing the ending where Flynn and Rapunzel have their falling out and rescue insures. So if your child is looking for something that follows the ...more

I am actually excited for this the new Disney movie "Tangled". It looks like my little girl is too --- or she just loves anything illustrated that looks like it may be a princess. (Look at that castle in the background!) She picked up this book tonight at the grocery store. :o)

This book has great illustrations. But - to me & my daughter - the wording needs a little help. Some of the pages seem to be telling a story, but others are just stating the colors & objects - instead of forming a

My new favorite Disney movie along with my daughter's. So naturally we had to get her a book. This is a 1st level so it's easy but is so good to help encourage my girl to read. She loves this one!

I read this to my sister and it was a little bit annoying. Even though it's for kids, they could vary the sentences with the lengths and how they started it.

Great level one reader--our four year old actually read it by herself the day she received it as a gift!
Beth
A good starter book for a new reader. A few difficult words, but she did well with it
Annie
