In the forward to Silly Rhymes for Belligerent Children, author Trace Beaulieu remembers going to his local library and reading Dr. Seuss, and hopes that some day a young child will be reading his book at the local library. I believe Beaulieu will have his wish come true many times over. You already love him for being Crow "The" Robot and Dr. Clayton "Firebrand" Forrester from Mystery Science Theater 3000; but who knew Trace Beaulieu's solo writing reads with similar whimsy to Roald Dahl*? Silly Rhymes For Belligerent Children is a collection of poems by Mr. Beaulieu with illustrations by Len Peralta that have the feeling of Calvin and Hobbes comics without being a copy of the artistic style.

Not since "The Stinky Cheese Man" has there been a book suited for both children and adults. I've spent years watching Trace Beaulieu on Mystery Science Theater 3000 and even saw him live doing Cinematic Titanic, both of which he was brilliant at. HE's one of the funniest joke writers I know and a better rhymer than a rhyming dictionary.
