Idaho justice is typically stern and unforgiving. Of course, I use the term "justice" somewhat loosely, as several of the convicted seemed to have gotten the wrong end of the stick. At least, as far as I understand the definition of first degree murder.

This book is a bumpy, horse-drawn ride that anyone even vaguely interested in the topic should read. The 23 episodes depict a mixture of surly malcontents and a few luckless dupes and span the years from mid-19th century to the 1950s, though most

Really enjoyed this book, though it is somewhat poignant... a lot of these guys were mentally ill, poor, desperate, etc. and there are quite a few where I'm really not sure they were guilty. A great way to learn some Idaho history, and so many familiar places and people will never be the same again.
