While it's a different style of prose, Tracy Evans' tale of vampires flows with a beauty that is missing in most vampire fic of today, and indeed most modern fiction. The description she paints brings forth the most beautiful imagery, which is sorely lacking in paranormal lit. today.

Cadmus lives in a world not very removed from our own that incorporates Goth rock, the legend of the Holy Grail, and Woodstock. There are uneasy parallels between Cadmus and charismatic leaders in the real-world realms of politics, music and faith.

The Chalice is relentlessly horrifying and seductive at the same time. I highly recommend it and

I'm a bit of a recluse and curmudgeon, preferring to stay at home and watch the world go by. I often write about it in my journal, The Cliffs of Insanity, over on Live Journal. I've had an unhealthy obsession with Vampires since the age of 12, which eventually led me to write The Vampire Relics trilogy. The more I learn about anything, the more I realise I have no idea what's going on. But, I firm ...more
