AHHHHHHH. After finally getting this book and finishing it, my mind was souring with happiness and actually told me: Thank you. Now you can move on and stop wasting my neurons! Isn't my mind amazing?
I don't remember being so bored by a book since The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I think this was more boring than Night Star!

i cant wait to read this but i think im the only one who is devastated that this is the last book

After Reading

I was kinda hoping for like some kinda twist to make up for the drag but ....i guess there kind of was ..... but still it was really predictable everyone knew that they were going to find the antidote and live happily ever after and stuff.... all in all i guess it was a good book ...im sad (and relieved) its over .

Before Reading it:
I added this because the cover is soooo prettty!!! :D Hope the end is better than the rest of the series. I loved the first one, maybe just maybe I will love this one too.

After reading it:
I wanted to love it.. I wanted to finsih this series on a good note.

The Immortals series and I have certainly had our ups and DOWNS but I have always been fascinated by this spellbinding world Noel has created. I remember reading the blurb for the first book and thinking this sounds good. The concept of being immortal, spending centuries fighting for love is perfect for the romantic at heart which we all know I am. And then you have magical Summerland and being able to manifest whatever your heart desired (like red tulips - although that trick gets a bit old when Damen is driving you crazy) and it adds a refreshing element to this story about out of the ordinary love.

One thing I like about Noel's writing is that plot is constantly full of surprises. No other couple has had to work as hard for a happy ending then Ever and Damen. They have had so many struggles that have provided many nail-biting-edge-of-my-seat moments. While there was still a few completely unexpected twists in Everlasting it's pace felt a little slower or maybe that is because we know a happy ending is in sight.....or is it?

A lot of my difficulty with this series has been with the character but I felt you could really see how much Ever has grown in this final installment. I swear she didn't annoy me once! In the earlier books she frustrated me with her decisions as I felt she would make mistake after mistake and never really learn from them. But she is now making smart choices. It makes me very happy to see her turn into a stronger and smarter young women. Now Damen, I felt he was disappointing. I didn't feel he had the charm and confidence and was a bit too brooding for my taste but I did like the way he will do anything to protect Ever and his unconditional love for her.

As for the romance between Ever and Damen it was very sweet. (view spoiler).

Overall, fans of The Immortals are going to love Everlasting. It is a perfect and surprising end to this popular series.(less)

man, another book? at least this is the final..
Evermore was okay. it was a fun read although not the type that gives me tingles..
Blue Moon gave me tingles alright, but not the one that i prefer. i didn't even finish it because it was just too... er... hateful? there wasn't much of Ever and Damen. it just hurt me.
i didn't even read Shadowland and Dark Flame. just read the ending. after Jude being introduced and Haven being a total bitch i opted not to read.

I have to admit, as soon as I'd read Evermore I was hooked. This was a book was interestingly original while still maintaining a comforting familiarity. Which is more than I can say for the rest of the series.

Blue Moon. Ever is now an immortal and is spending more time with her new found love, Damen, in a place called Summerland. Here she learns to manifest items at will. As the book progresses we see Ever grow stronger and in turn Damen grow weaker. In the end she is tricked by a rogue immortal named Roman into giving Damen a cure containing her blood. This helps him regain his strength but mean's that if they ever touched, Ever's DNA would kill Damen. In my opinion, she completely acted out of character.

Shadowland. In this book Ever and Damen learn of the Shadowland, the place where those without a soul lay to rest. Jude, an ordinary mortal with knowledge of the mystical beings of the world. Though how he knows so much confuses me as his only information source is his carer Lina. As nice as his chaacter is, I feel that his existence is a little pointless. It seems Noel wrote him to give the series a 'love triangle' of sort's. But Ever only lets Jude think he has a chance with her when she never loved him as anything more than a friend. In the end he almost kills Haven (a character which I didn't like anyway) but surprise, surprise give's Ever the option to save her and turn her into an immortal. Not only a selfish move but it lands her in heaps of trouble in the next book.

Dark Flame. This was basically pages and pages of nothing. Suddenly Damen and Ever grow apart and she thinks she loves Roman, because she accidently binds herself to him when a spell she performs goes wrong, I actually went back a few chapters to make sure I did't miss anything. Ever seemed like she hated Roman and his smarmy ways. But now it seems that this was what she loved about him. Haven also becomes obsessed with him. In the end Jude ruins Ever's chance to get the antidote by killing roman. Haven walks in and blames Ever for his death and plans to get her revenge.

Night Star. At this point I thought this series was a lost cause but I continued to read it to see how it ended. Haven's vendetta against Ever proves to be a problem for everyone. So Ever brakes up with Damen to see if she love's Jude more (she doesn't) and Damen tells Miles about everything. Haven turns super evil and tries and fails to kill Ever because she is 'unkillable' (not my words) then she tries to kill Miles just after she throws a shirt with the antidote stained on it, into a fireplace. Ever realises she must be stopped and sends her to the Shadowland with a mighty punch to her weakest chakra. Can't say I missed her, but she did make this book a decent read.

Everlasting. Couldn't really get into this book because of the boring start. It seemed quite rushed like Noel was trying to quickly find a solution to everyone's problems. She gives ever a floating oracle called lotus to send Ever on countless journeys to put right all her wrongs. In the end she releases Drina, Roman and Haven from the Shadowland so they can move on, at which point Roman gives her the antidote in list form. Then she, being 'the chosen one' has to find a tree which bear's fruit, that can reverse the immortal spell. She and Damen decide to become mortals and be together for the rest of their natural lives. Not exactly what I'd expected but, an ending no less.

I hate it when people say horrible things about author's work. No wonder why new writers don't want to come out with their ideas because it's people who say mean things about their ideas.

I think all people who have said something horrible about this series or any other books should say sorry because it's just pathetic doing it. Show some repect!

I think my status updates will give you a better idea of my thoughts on this book than a review, but here goes…

Thank goodness this series is FINALLY over. I didn't think the first book was that bad, but each one got progressively worse. Don't ask me how I made it this far, and I thought Book 5 was going to be the last one, but Noel decided to surprise us with one more. At least now I can say I finished the series.

I've explained before that I don't mind love triangles, but when an author sells us...more I think my status updates will give you a better idea of my thoughts on this book than a review, but here goes…

I've explained before that I don't mind love triangles, but when an author sells us on the idea that two people are soul mates, please do NOT throw in a triangle. I don't know why Noel INSISTS on writing Jude in the story.

I LOVE JUDE. And okay, so he's not the right one for Ever, but damnit, I hate that Ever kept blaming him for "always ruining everything." On top of that, she's just asking for trouble by continuously inviting him back into her life.

And let's not forget Roman, Drina and Haven - and somehow Miles fits in all of this too - so we don't exactly have a love TRIANGLE now, do we?

I've got to hand it to Noel in coming up with an alternate theory on the reincarnating cycle. HOWEVER, I think the way she executed the story was just utterly ridiculous.

First, the whole concept of Damen and Ever not being able to touch or swap DNA would be SO much more interesting if they didn't have a Shadowland or Summerland to go to and actually - well, touch. Cheaters!

Then, we have an elixir that was created, basically the reversal was fruit - something that grew naturally - although it was magical, it was so ummm… blah? And all of them swinging from branch to branch like an "agile monkey?"

I was also really annoyed that Noel couldn't decide whether she should write Sabine in or leave her out. I mean, come on. I know she didn't want to do the whole disappearing parent/guardian syndrome, but Sabine's role in this book was just off. She is totally left in the dark for SIX BOOKS about Ever's powers, and Ever disappears for six months like nothing.

And I could have done without the drama with Damen at the end. But we do get to the moment we've all been waiting for. I just wish it had been more exciting. It was more of a "FINALLY" than anything.

Never finished night star just because I wanted to punch Ever in the face...this series is way too long with nothing but same things happening over and over again--> by that I mean Ever making the same mistakes as always. I think I can sum up the whole series with this: It's about two people who will do everything in their power to have sex.

It was a waste of time, space, paper, money, and every other thing you can think of. It's an embarrassment to YA literature, and that's me putting it lightly.

To start this review out on a positive note, Ever acts significantly less idiotic in this novel.

The Immortals series was never a top choice of mine. They were always on a lower half of a three-star rating for me, but they were nice, easy reads nonetheless. Evermore started out as a bit of a Twilight knock-off but eventually evolved itself into a series that stood its own ground. Alyson Noel thought out the series' mythology pretty well and offered the reader with topics such as reincarnation, magic, afterlives, etc. I never liked this series for the Ever/Damen relationship - it was the weakest part of the stories for me, and the we-can't-have-sex storyline is idiotic - but it was enjoyable to see Noel's ideals presented in a watered-down way for her young-adult audience.

That being said, Everlasting was my least favorite novel of the series. Like I said, this series was never a favorite of mine, but the simple good vs. evil conflicts and the petty, high school drama helped keep me engaged enough to finish these. This novel takes the series in a completely different direction, and what I didn't enjoy the most is the lack of any real conflict. In the past novels, we had a clear-cut, Ever vs. Roman and/or Ever vs. Haven conflict, but that ended in Night Star. Basically, this novel is a lot of reflection and discussion for the first seventy-five pages, a pilgrimage in the middle, and then more reflection and discussion to wrap it up. There wasn't a lot to keep me engaged in what was going on.

While I enjoyed that this ending wasn't just an ending for Ever and Damen but for many immortals as well, it still left something to be desired. Without really giving anything away, the ending kind of wraps the series around to where it began, and it just felt off. Maybe it was just too fairy-tale, everything's-perfect for me. When finishing a series, I like some spark of emotion (I was a basket case after finishing His Dark Materials), but I felt nothing when this ended.

If you've read all five books leading up to this, you obviously have to see how it ends. That's really the only reason I finished this; I just wanted to see what actually happens. Just don't expect too much out of it.

Oh, and can I say Alyson Noel writes the most awkward sex scenes ever? For the love of God.(less)

Okay. So I didn't read the 4th and won't read the 5th, but I think I might actually read this last book just so I can know how this ends!

I've always had a problem with not finishing series, and I thought I had finally cut the cord on this one. But I just really want to know what happens to the annoying Ever and Damen.

And the funniest thing about it is, I can guarantee you it won't matter that I skipped the 4th and 5th. The author spends so much time catching you up....

But along the way I decided to read the Immortals series, and I didn't like them. I don't know why I kept reading them. Maybe I'm an idiot.Maybe I have morbid curiosity.Maybe I wanted to see if they could improve. Maybe I thought that I should read all the books so I can say they all sucked in case of an argument. But I read them.

Here's the thing. I don't like Ever and Damen. Six books, and I felt not a grain of affection for either of them. Most of the times Ever made me fantasize about teleporting into the books and beating her with a baseball bat. I spent six books hearing about how Ever's an outcast at school because high school years are the most important years of your life, and all heroines are outcasts tormented by the popular clique. Everybody wants a piece of the hot new boy, even though I cannot believe that the entire student body would have the same tastes. But whatever. Everyone needs to want Damen, otherwise it wouldn't be as special when he chooses the little outcast over those horrible girls who wear makeup and high heels. Evermore really should have been a standalone. The plot is standard. But no, we can't have a standalone novel. We have to make up some bullshit conflict. Which brings me to my next point-

I don't care if Ever and Damen have sex. I really don't. Why should I? Like I mentioned, I have no emotional attachment to either of them. Second, their problems are insignificant. I'm not saying the world has to be at stake or anything, but there's really nothing stopping them from being together, aside from the fact that they can't touch. Cut your losses. Seriously, you guys are rich, won't have to work, can manifest anything you want, just deal with the fact that you can't have sex. That, or masturbate or go onto one of those kinky sites to get some ideas.

So yeah, two horny teenagers trying desperately to have sex does not excite me. But what I was curious about and dreading with this book was the plot. All the antagonists were gone. Drina's gone, Roman's gone, Haven's gone. The love triangle(which was pointless, because who honestly thought Ever would have chosen Jude)was resolved. Sabine found out about Ever's powers, and doesn't accept them, but she's a parental figure, so her opinion means jackshit. I was not looking forward to Ever and Damen whining that they couldn't have sex for 200 pages.

My problem with this book is that it seemed to introduce too many plotlines and then solve them to quickly. For example, the sex issue is resolved within the first 100 pages. Ever goes on some mystical journey or some crap and realizes that everyone in this series is connected. Here's the rundown.
In the past, Ever and Damen were secret sweethearts who wanted to get married, but Damen was promised to Ever's horrible and vain cousin, Drina. Damen and Ever made plans to elope. Damen's brother Roman was mad because he was in love with Drina, but she never noticed him because she was too wrapped up in his jackass brother. Some low ranking boy named Jude was in love with Ever. Damen and Ever have sex. I was so pissed when I read that. I've been suffering through these books and now I find out Damen and Ever could have gone into that memory all along but it was withheld from them because they weren't ready.

But then Drina busts Ever and murders her.Haven was jealous as usual and sold Ever's ass out. So now Ever's dying and Damen's all sad and shit so he tries to make her immortal or something. The point is, everyone's trapped in an endless cycle doomed to repeat the same mistakes. So the sex conflict is done because Damen and Ever can go into that memory and have sex. But no. They go to the Shadowlands and meet all the dead people. And Drina and Roman forgive Ever and Damen and are at peace at last. Haven found peace as well. Yippee. Now all the antagonists are gone and bear no ill will towards Ever and Damen, which I found really unrealistic. But Roman gave them the antidote so the book should be over, right? NO.

It's been months since I read this book, but now Ever has to go on some quest to get some magical fruit that'll turn Immortals human. But some other people want the fruit too, and they push Ever off a cliff. All seems lost because there's only one fruit, but never fear! The magical tree is ever giving! So, another conflict brought up and resolved.

Don't really remember what happened next, but it's not important. Ever confronts Sabine and is an obnoxious little shit about it. But Sabine is close to Ever now. Damen and Ever become human. Maybe other stuff happened, but I don't remember. The point is, this series is over.(less)

I believe the series could of been better if the series had only been 3 or 4 books instead of 6. I felt that the plot for the series was way dragged out and the characters repetively made the same mistakes and did not learn from them. Ever was overly shallow in this series but she was much more tolerable in this book from middle to the end.

Ever since I read Evermore a few years ago I was hooked on this series, however after the Blue Moon, I think the series took a bit of a turn and I ended up not really enjoying the books. With Everlasting being the last in the series decided not to expect much but I’m glad to say that the series got back on track.

The Sixth and final instalment of The Immortal Series. Everlasting starts with Ever and Damen going on another journey to try and find a cure so they can finally be together. While in Summerland they stumble upon a guide named Lotus who explains they need to go where it all started, back to the beginning for our young couple. Thinking they have already visited all the past lives….Have they missed one that neither them have visited before? And what is Evers’ true destiny that awaits her?

I have to say now, I’m FINALLY glad this series is over. Although I do like the series, I do think (like most people) that the stories were dragged out far too much. I completely lost interest after Blue Moon and I don’t think I every really got that interest back. I was so tempted to flip to the back page and see if finally our characters get the happy ending we all hoped for but I’m so glad I didn’t.

Everlasting is great! Once you get through the first few chapters you get thrown in to an exciting story where all our unanswered questions are finally revealed. Not only was the story exciting but it kept me interested all the way through. I loved that we got to see another past life of our characters, one that I completely enjoyed and it was also nice to see a deeper meaning behind it too. The overall story was tied up nicely. I wasn’t expecting appearances from Roman, Haven & Drina but I loved how their journey ended and I loved how Jude, Ava, Miles and the Twins all have happy endings too. Nice touch Alyson.

Ever & Damon….well I’m just over the moon that they got what they wanted. I have to ask were the readers left disappointed with the act itself? I hope not! I think Alyson managed to write that scene very tastefully, beautifully and oh so romantic. The love that the characters have for on another truly come out and leave you thrilled that there finally so happy.

Overall….Everlasting was a good book and had a great ending. One I think all readers will enjoy!

1. * za to, že sem vlepila dve zaujímavé odbočky a boli vcelku zaujímavé, a hlavne neboli nudné – dokonca som zostal prekvapený v niekoľkých momentoch.
2. * za to, že to vyzerá tak, že autorka mala istý koncept, a mnohé veci mi v tejto chvíli začali dávať zmysel, a možno keby som začal čítať túto sériu odznova, tak mi mnohé veci doklapnú inak.
3. * za to, že to nie je naťahovanie romantických rozlúčok a podobných ptákovín na 340 stranách.

I don’t know how I feel about this book, but I will try to be kind.
The series is too long! (Six books)!!!!!
Some parts doesn’t make sense
Plus the book dragged, so many stupid repetitions
Ever, is so annoying and dumb!!!.... Talk about the ultimate fiction!
To many details!... Just too much!!!
“The tree of life”???? “Adam and Eve”, “ Eat the fruit”,
“Saving the soul”???? , “Destiny”????, “Chakras”????
“And to top it all spirituality and religion”????

Omg how painful it was to read this book!!! So long and the plot was the same as all the other five books!! I can't believe she had them not talk to each other AGAIN . What real relationship does that? Oh I'm mad at you so I'm Gonna ignore you for a few weeks or months ..really??? They had a period of not talking to each other in all 6 books now come on!! I'm so glad this is over! I own all 6 books and was contemplating on donating them to the library but I would hate to have someone get sucked...more

finally its over .. the first 2 books i enjoy reading .. I'm happy that's it over and while reading the book i find myself skipping paragraph because you just know whats happening already you don't need a whole couple of paragraph explaining it to you.the book to me felt like everything was happening to quickly jumping from the next plot to the next.i have to said this i hated reading about summerland it was weird and all the stupid stuff happening in there.SO HAPPY ITS OVER

Nekonečný príbeh lásky Ever a Damena uzatvára dôstojným a dobre prepracovaným záverečným dielom. Naozaj, poslednú časť tejto série celkovo považujem za najlepšiu. Nečudo, samotná autorka finálny rukopis prepisovala dvadsať až tridsaťkrát a výsledok poteší mnohých fanúšikov Nesmrteľných. Kniha prináša pohľad na pravý charakter hlavných hrdinov. Ever sa konečne nespráva ako malé dieťa, vyrovnáva sa so svojim osudom a je plne pripravená záhadu vyriešiť. Takisto aj udalosti z predošlých častí postupne začínajú dávať zmysel. Kniha je zároveň odbremenená od hluchých miest a Nesmrteľní sršia akciou a napätím až do poslednej strany.

Celá kniha sa nesie v atmosfére veľkolepého finále a vy sa pristihnete pri tom, že príbeh Damena a Ever nekončí založením poslednej knihy do poličky a predsa len vám budú tí dvaja chýbať. No úplne iný pohľad na Nesmrteľných by sme mali, keby Alyson sériu nenatiahla na 6 kníh, ale zredukovala ju na podstatne menej stránok.

Skončí nakoniec príbeh Ever a Damena spoločným nesmrteľným životom alebo sa navždy odlúčia? Finále prichádza a každý fanúšik tejto série by si ho nemal nechať ujsť. Mňa oproti prvým častiam podstatne prekvapilo, či už prepracovaním, štýlom autorky a celkovou stavbou diela, ktoré už neobsahovalo kostrbaté a hluché miesta, a odporúčam ho každému fanúšikovi série. Alyson Noël pred niekoľkými týždňami taktiež absolvovala stretnutie s vydavateľstvom Slovart, ktorého súčasťou bol aj rozhovor s blogerkou Judit.
