OMG, Wasn't this the best book I have read in a while! I just adored it! So good! I extremely recommend this book to those paranormal romance lovers who have not read it yet. What an amazing read, I couldn't put the book down once I started it. I'm not sending it to my top-50 shelf because it is not part of a series and those are the ones I can only love that much, but it would definitely go there if it had been a book in a whole series. Although I don't think I would be able to survive that,LO ...more

Drink of Me had me caught in its grasp by the second chapter and by late midday my daughter was asking me “are you going to read all day?” What can I say, when I find something I really like I can’t quit LOL. I must confess I liked Jacquelyn Franks Nightwalker series, but they didn’t even come close to holding my attention as this book did. Now my biggest disappointment is this is the only book, so I won’t get to read about the rest of the great pack characters, UGH!! If you want something a lit ...more

This book was crazy intense! I was pleasantly surprised. Ms. Frank did a superb job with this one. It has everything in it. Drama, suspense, passion. Very erotic. Honorable hot men! The ins and outs of what it means to be family whether it is through blood or not. Choices. Making the right ones even when it puts you in an undesirable position.

I fell in love with this story. Everyone in this book. Well written characters across the board. The plot, premise, & point to this story was executed
In a world where emotion can be a deadly weapon, one slight, battered runaway holds the key to a dark and twisted enigma...

Drink of me, she whispers, her silver eyes trusting, pleading. What female dares speak such words to one of the Sánge? His people are scorned by every race for their fierce sensuality, their fearful rituals. And as Prime, Reule is the most telepathically gifted of them all.

But nothing has prepared him for the intensity of emotion radiating from the outlander rescued
Drink of Me is my favorite book from Jacquelyn Frank. The world was very unique and creative, I loved the characters and the set up. This one was an otherworldly vampire tale with a historical feel, and it caught my attention right away.

The sange are a fierce, fiery race of long-lived blood drinkers. Years of persecution and misunderstanding have left them living in virtual isolation in their fortress-like city. On a mission to rescue a valued friend, Reule and his packmates find more than they
Frank's world building skills star in this more fanatasy offering, she does an excellent job of developing the world of the Sánge, a telepathic/empathic race, and the tightly mentally linked Pack, a group of warriors who support their ruler Ruele. When rescuing a comrade from torture at the hands of enemies, who are emotional leeches feeding off of their victims' pain, Ruele senses a being who emanates such anguish that he is compelled to search for whoever is suffering so. The tormented waif su ...more

I can't even think of where to start this review other than by saying, 'Absolutely fantastic!' Jacquelyn Frank has created a palpable world with such strong elements and diverse, multi-layered characters so descriptively written, they seemed to blur the line between reality and fiction. It's a journey of self as an individual and amongst others, both familiar and not. I was left wanting to know more about these characters, their world, and what's to come. Jacquelyn Frank has me hooked on the new ...more

There were several interesting world-building concepts in this book and I think it would have been a much better story if the author had stuck to a paranormal romance. Unfortunately she somehow got the idea that would help the book to throw a bucket of purple prose all over everything. There were probably at least 100 pages of superfluous descriptions of looks, feelings, lust. Its too bad.
I've read one book by this author, Jacob, that I thought was pretty good so will try her aga
I think this one of the best books I have read this year. Jacquelyn Frank creates a believable fantasy world filled with everything from benign horses to evil Jackals using a flowing language and an eye for detail that grabs you from the start. I have been asking for a high fantasy romance and I think I have found it. Pray to all the Gods that it is the beginning of a series!

Reule was only 16 when his parents were murdered and he had to take the crown and become king. Ever since his only concern
I want to start off by saying that I really enjoyed this book...however, I did find the mix of stereotypically vampire and werewolf traits a little confusing initially, but once I got the ideas straight in my head I was pleasantly surprised at how well it fit.

I had to break my pre-conceived ideas about how a race of telepathic warriors could possibly encompass such strong characteristics from both Were and Vamp beings. As an avid sf/fantasy/paranormal reader I have formed some pretty strong the
This story sucked me in from the start. I usually don't like it when the main characters fall instantly in love and you're left wondering how they got from point A to point B so fast. But in this story Ruele and Mystique had such an instant connection, I almost didn't notice how fast they attached themselves to each other. I loved how he took care of her, and I loved how she instantly trusted and needed him to take care of her. The emotions ran high at the very beginning of this book, which made ...more

Jacquelin Frank delivers another outstanding paranormal romance that, while starting slow as most of her first in a series books do, had me riveted to the pages in the end.

From the blurb:

What female dares speak such words to one of the Sange? His people are scorned by every race for their fierce sensuality,

Very good fantasy romance. I liked this book as well as her earlier Nightwalker books (which are my favs of Frank's works). The heroine is an outlander with amenesia with injuries that were most likely the result of torture/abuse. She is rescued by Reule, the Sange's Prime (kind of like a king). The Sange have telepathic powers and some other special abilities. An usual trait is the drinking of blood, which prejudice some other people toward their race. Reule takes the heroine back to his keep a ...more

Is that it ? Really?
Does the Book really end like that without another book in sight?

'Drink of Me' is a story about a pack,
the Sange who are a sensual telepathic blood drinking race.
The story drew me in and I had a hard time putting it down.

It is very rare when the author writes so well that the Reader cares about and wants to know more about EVERY character.
I even wanted to know more about the Jackals,
the Sange's most annoying enemy.

How can this be a stand alone book when it ends on a maybe?
I got this book wanting something short and sweet to read to wind down for bed after pulling an all nighter doing a research paper. This book was JUST what I needed. I really liked it. The characters were endearing and many parts made me smile and chuckle. I tend to consider books 150 pages or less more of a short story (Drink of Me is 156 pages), and this one is no different. However, unlike most I've read over the years, the plot in this book isn't rushed.
Although there is no cliff hanger, I
This book had a little bit of everything.Romance, supernatural beings, and a message that everyone should consider more often-there is never a reason to discrimate against another being just because you don't understand them.It is referred to throughout this book. The characters are easy to fall in love with.I would love to spend more time with The Pack,Reule and Mystique. I would love to find out what happened between Liandra and Darcio.

Took lots of my patience... I read Jacob and I enjoyed but this one Geez. .. seems this book is not even from the same author. I confess I was captivated with the cover and the title. ..but that's it. not even one character was interesting for me and the worst was the writting, boring, confusing, I struggled to understand endless descriptions of everything.

Ms. Frank can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. Each book pulls me deeper and deeper into the fascinating worlds she creates. Strong heroines and sexy heroes thrown into otherwordly life and death situations consistantly makes her books wonderful
This book was great. It is unfortunate that it is a stand alone and we will probably never hear more about the other men in Reule's Pack. But I was totally enthralled with the book and would read it again because it was that enjoyable.
Wow this book was awesome! I enjoyed every bit of it...Does anyone know if this is a new series? On her website it shows as being a single title but it sure doesn't feel or end like one. I hope there will be more to come =)

Drink of Me captivated me and I do hope she makes it a series. I could not put it down!!!!!I would love to read a story about each member of the pack!!!
Loved this book, just wish this was the beginning of a new series.

This author is at times a hit and miss for me. But, I will say when she is a hit it's a hit. If you liked Rapture this kind this is kind of similar in writing style.

I think you'll either really like this one or not care for the 'wordy' descriptive scenes. I actually didn't mind this because this is set in a alternate paranormal world with regency type values. Reule is a Sange an outcast by other tribes because of their sexual nature to drink from their lovers. Drink of Me starts off with Reule

This is a captivating read, interspersed with love, loyalty, acceptance, kinship, fellow-feeling and mystery.
Reule is the king, the 'Prime' of the Sange tribe, a tribe of telepaths and empaths who are thoroughly misunderstood by others for their supposed brutality and violence. Reule has worked very hard, against all odds, to built the city of Jeth and take care of his people. When one of his Pack members is captured by the vile Jakals, Reule attacks the Jakals, kills them and in the process di
In this otherworld place a Prime and his pack, in rescuing one of their own, come across a female of another race. This telepathic leader feels an instant attraction to this woman. A woman who has no memory of who she is. Ruele names her Mystique. This Prime and his charge are drawn together into an overwhelming love and sensual discovery in a dangerous land.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can only live in hope of more to come about the rest of this irresistable "pack".
It starts out really slow, but gets better about 30% in. I wish that this was a series though.
A pretty decent paranormal romance.

The Good:
-The book is engaging from the start, and stays so for a while. I didn't want to put it down for the first half.
-There's a palpable sexual attraction between the two main characters.
-Frank developed an interesting world, with different tribes and "pathic" traits.
-There are no love triangles or ridiculous misunderstandings between the two main characters to create any forced drama in the romance.
-The book is easy to read. And, while I know that it's
Read this one awhile back. Just updating now. I really wish GR would do 1/4 & 1/2 stars because I would probably give this a 3.25. Still, I feel it's a 3 versus a 4. A decent PNR.
I felt there were enormous similarities between this and the Nightwalkers. For a second I wondered if this was a test run prior to that series, although I now know that Nightwalkers came first. Presumably that's why this never made it into a series. Too many parallels and not enough ideas?

I don't object to authors writing the same theme over and over if they have different things to say. In fact, some of my top auto-buy writers do this, but they do it really really well.

Despite that, I was enjoy
