Excellent mystery, set in China. Detective Zhang Fong has just regained his position as hed of Special Investigations in Shanghai after period of disgrace and is involved in a murder mystery. Love the interplay between the murder investigation and the politics of China. The story is well paced, the characters interesting. You will want to read more David Rotenberg.

A book full of suspense with a storyline that deals with the culture of the Republic of China, the push for abortions of second children. A really good suspense thriller featuring Detective Fong of the Shanghai police.

I liked the combination of an Asian locale (the descriptions make Shanghai sound so much like Saigon!) and Canadian and other North American references.

I read this a few years ago and can't remember much about it. I seem to pick up this authours' books at random at book fairs/sales as I can't seem to get a hang of his writing style.
