I rarely cook anything from this cookbook "as is." It's a great cookbook for finding base recipes and then tweaking them to make them more interesting. However, some of the recipes are fine on their own and really highlight specific flavors instead of creating a carnival of flavors in your mouth.

I have her three and four ingredient cookbook and it is perhaps my fave outside the Joy of Cooking. i have probably made about 1/4 of all the recipes, including the breads and sauces and they are superb. the pictures are drool-worthy and the simepl dishes, like pasta with peas and mint, force you to really focus on the quality of your ingredients.
