This 1979 edition of a cookbook first published in 1967 and handed on by a dear friend is bringing back so many memories. I must have borrowed it from the library years ago, as many of the recipes are familiar and some are copied out into my handwritten recipe collection. I love the way these recipes are written in a story-like format, eschewing the boring predictability of lists of ingredients followed by carefully laid out modus operandi.
