Myrnin and Claire had better kiss in this book or I will hurl :)

ETA MAY 6TH: <spoiler>THEY DIDN'T KISS GAWDAMNIT! imma hurl myrnins stupid bunny slippers at rachel caine. ¬_¬</spoiler>

Oh well there's always future books. Bite Club was only a warmup to the triangle that's (hopefully) gonna develop. Heck its already in the making! And even though it's obvious Shane and Claire are a happily ever after it's definitely gonna be AWESOME to have Myrnin shakes things More...

Dear friends,

With the release date of the 10th Morganville installment coming up, I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize officially – in advance – to all of you for my upcoming behavior during the next few days. I wonder if this would work?

Dear Rachel Caine,

I really loved Bite Club but I notice an error (or rather a few) in it. I don't know if you did it or some out of their mind editor but there was only one nekkid Shane scene and by that I mean Shane getting nekkid scene. How could that happen? Are you trying to drive us crazy? Now I know how much you love your fans and hate to see them unhappy so I thought of a solution to make it all better. In Last Breath you should incl More...

Loving it so far! This series just keeps getting better with each new book! Just finished Bite Club and I loved every page of it! It keeps you of the edge of your seat! I wanted to smack some sense into Shane. Once again he ended up in a very bad situation, this time all his anger toward the vampires is unleashed and he gets the chance to beat the heck out of a few of them in the ring. Glory uses glamour on Shane and he gets involed in the a human vs. vampire fight club. Some of the scenes betwe More...

The first rule of fight club is ........ hmmm lets ask Shane !

Loved it ! whats not to love if youre a Morganville Fan. Plenty of ups and downs, mainly downs and my anxiety levels were the same. A lot of conflict in this one and not just from Claire, old enemies resurface and damage is done to relationships that may not be repaired but hey, its Morganville, What do you expect ? still going strong 10 books later :D

Even vampires make mistakes. This is a lesson everyone in Morganville learns hard in this latest installment. Past decisions come back to bite them all in the rear end, as issues that should have been resolved have not been. Someone has started a new extreme fighting ring, pitting humans against vampires in the ultimate bloody showdown. Things hit closer to home than Claire could have ever realized when Shane starts slipping through her fingers and becomes the latest target. She'll have to convi More...

I really enjoyed this book and it really surprised me.

The story follows Claire as her and her friends have to deal with a lot of trouble going on with certain vampires in town. Claire discovers vampires making a online fighting show, Vampire vs Humans and she finds Shane caught in the middle of it. Suddenly Claire, Eve and Michael find themselves racing to save Shane before Amalie finds the fight club and kills everyone involved.

It really surprised me because you found Shane More...

UGH curse you Rachel Caine for not getting Claire and Myrnin to hook up!! aadfhaskjfhaslkdjjhf!!!

Hmmm okay so now that that's out of the way what can I say bout Bit Club, it was not as great as the others but I still read it in a day and will no doubt be reading the next one. [I only wish it had more crazy Myrnin *enter dreamy sigh*]

Okay so it was weird seeing in Shane's POV but I quickly got used to that, to be honest I'm really pissed of at Shane. He's annoying me so More...

From Library Journal Xpress Reviews, March 25, 2011

This tenth entry in a planned series of 12 volumes picks up where last year's Ghost Town left off, with the problems of Claire Danvers, a human highly involved with supernatural politics in the college town of Morganville. Caine, also known for the more adult-oriented "Weather Warden" urban fantasies, has experienced much success with the twisty "Morganville Vampires" titles, which delight in such sf B-movie touch More...

When Bite Club opens, the guys are excited about the new gym opening in Morganville, Shane especially, since they’re offering martial arts. It’s vampire owned, with vamp and human members. Shane loves it and starts spending more and more time there. He’s also getting angry – fast and mean. He’s picking fights with Michael, Eve, and even Claire. The angrier he gets, the more time he spends at the gym, where Gloriana’s been hanging out. It doesn’t seem to matter that she’s a vampire, Shane can’t s More...

(More like 3.5 stars, but it falls on the side of three instead of four this time.)

Also appears on The Screaming Nitpicker.

A new gym has opened up in Morganville and Shane, to say the least, is excited that there's now a place where he can learn to kick vampire butt. He soon starts acting strangely and despite Claire's attempts to find out what's wrong, Shane isn't talking. Through her own invesigation brought on by the death of a classmate and the long trail that leads h More...

urg! I love these books so much!! They're just so short. At least they come out every six months.

I want more of Shane and Claire! I really actually hate the idea of Myrnin and Claire together and everyone seems to be saying that they're going to end up together. No. Bad.

I really love that these books are nothing like the standard young adult vampire book. And they're so...actiony. Love it.

I also really love Claire, in all the books.

What to say about Bite Club???....It was flipping awesome, so awesome i could scream. It had everything as always & twists & turns each & every which way & i don't think i even guessed any of them. Claire being in the thick of it,as always with Eve,Michael & Shane, all side by side. But Eve & Claire got to save the day this time..oh with the help of one crazy vampire Myrnin. Myrnin helped to save the day.

This is another thumbs up to Rachel Caine, a huge thumbs up. I enjoyed it all h More...

I absolutely love this series and this addition didn't disappoint. Just like it's predecessors, it was captivating, held my attention and I just kept wanting to read more. There were a few things that were out of sync with the other books but looking past these things, it was fantastic and full of action. Unfortunately, I don't feel as though Shane's point of view contributed much more to the book but it was an interesting experiment which certainly didn't harm the quality of the book. I can't w More...

I love this series and each book gets better and better. However, I was a little shocked to find the format of this story was different. Normally, her books are all third person but this one had a few chapters told in first person by Shane. It was jarring in the beginning but soon I found his perspective to be rather refreshing. It was nice actually getting into the head of his character.
This is an emotional roller coaster. Shane is off his rocker and breaking Claire's heart. I love that sh More...

I’d be lying if I said that being a book blogger doesn’t come with some pretty substantial perks. I get to chat with authors that (under normal circumstances) would be considered un-touchable, am offered up a pretty broad spectrum of free books, (with nothing more than an understanding that I will blab to the world my unadulterated thoughts on it’s general worthiness,) and every once in a great while find my name attached to words that would make even the most egocentric of us blush, but last mo More...

Bite Club, the 10th book in the Morganville Vampires series, picks up shortly after Ghost Town left off. Eve and Shane are working, Michael is continuing to work on his music and Claire finds herself starting a new semester. But do things ever stay normal in M More...

Review:

My first thought when I pick up a new Morganville book is, please let this be good. My reasoning is, there are 10 books, all about the same people and the the same place. I can’t help but worry that the plots will repeat, or just get straight up boring.

Caine again did not disappoint. I found Bite Club just as cute and interesting as all the rest! I don’t mind the same little gang of main characters, though some of the other stories in this series did seem to get anno More...

For readers of the Morganville series, you all know the drill. The books are like a soap opera, with each book picking up on the heels of the last. So, if you haven’t read any of the books, start with the first or you will be very confused. This is a very fast paced series, so it won’t take you any time to catch up to this latest installment. Author Rachel Caine does a great job of immediately pulling you into Morganvi More...

Tenth in the urban fantasy, young adult series, Morganville Vampires, set in a very restricted small town in Texas. For Morganville is a town set up by vampires in a real-life living experiment to see if vampires and humans can coexist. Each vampire Protects particular humans which supposedly prevents attacks on them by other vamps.

The Story
Bishop's gotten loose and has called on his allies to raise money and subvert the humans in Morganville. Part of that plot is a vampire, Vass More...

Wow. This book really had me going. I was so attached to it, and I felt every single emotion from both Shane and Claire. The Shane POV's were really helpful--I've been dying to know what he feels--and trust me, at some points, I wanted to stab him and Glory with a spiked mace, but then the anguish and anger made it better. I have to admit, I wanted Claire to let out her pent-up frustration a bit earlier, and not when I least expected it--I didn't want it to be let out on Myrnin... but I guess th More...
