This book has it all, braw Scottish Highlanders, strong women who aren’t afraid of their own shadow, a little fighting, a bit of loving and a nice description of Scotland as we would imagine it in the 14th century… what’s not to love? Our journey starts with the McTiernay brothers, less one, returning home from losing the second eldest to marriage. As they camped, the guards brought a disheveled woman to Conor, Laird of the Clan. She had obviously been beaten and was running away from someone, b...more

The first book I read from Ms. Michele Sinclair. It is been a while since I read about Laird and Scotland. From the many great reviews that I noticed from this book, I gave it a try. The heroine character is strong and stubborn and the hero is cold and unyielding. Both of have powerful personality. From this book you will learn a lot to handle some relationship problems. It makes you open your eyes to some what understand your partner. COMPROMISE. That is the one thing that made this book stand...more

I saw this book on one of my friend's lists and the description looked interesting enough for me to give it a try, it also helped that it was on amazon for the kindle at only $1.99! Score. So I went into reading it already happy that I didn't have to spend that much money, but the story quickly drew me in. I found it a little reminiscent of a few of Garwood's Scottish laird books, but that's a positive for me as I love her books.

The Highlander's Bride (Zebra Debut) by Sinclair, Michele
This is the second novel by this author that I have read and while it didn’t capture me as much as “The Christmas Knight” did, it still stands out as a good example of a historical romance. One that has its very steamy interactions, has many humorous moments and has a lot of fiery Scottish fighting and making up!
This is another of the authors’ relationship/character driven plots and there is a bit of action towards the very end.

This story was adorable and just what I needed. Conor McTiernay, laird of a powerful clan has vowed never to marry. Well you know what people say about never saying never. Enter Laurel, a bonnie English lass. She appears badly beaten and disheveled in the midst of Conor and his brothers on their travel home from their brother Colin's wedding. She begs them for help to allow her to go with them. Connor is instantly attracted to her and vows his protection and then some *cough*.
Conor was boorish,...more

I would have rated this a 4, as the romance was very sweet, but there were a couple things that really bothered me. First of all, and I know it's a romance novel so my expectations are lowered, but there were just too many little anachronisms that annoyed me. It's the 1300s, they shouldn't be peeling potatoes. Second, a whole lot of *nothing* happens the whole book. You start off with the h/h falling in love at first sight and then there's virtually no adventure or action until the very end of t...more
I need a half star for this one... 3.5 suits me fine. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either.
I'll admit it took me a while to get into this book because, hello, Holy POV issues batman! I swear to the gods every time a new character walked onto the page we were oh so annoyingly "treated" to their POV...
Really... I don't care of the cute boy from the village, the castle servant, stable master, and random night watch guard think about the hero or heroine. It just made for a confusing read, a...more

It was entertaining. I’ll give it that. I liked the idea of a woman running from a captor into the arms of a handsome Highlander. I’m a sap! I love the grand romance scenarios but with this one it seemed to push some of my limits. It had humor but something that annoyed me a lot was Laurel’s constant need to fight with Conor.
Overall the book wasn’t bad. There is better fluff romance out there and some of them or on my review list. I’m giving this a 3 because I can’t say I didn’t enjoy reading it...more

The plot was good. I enjoyed the interaction between Conor and Laurel. I even understood some of their misgivings when it came to each other. I liked it enough to buy the next in the series to see what happened to the next brother. But, what hurt this book's rating for me was the head-hopping. I usually have no problem with hopping around to other characters to learn what they are thinking - I do it myself in my own writing - but this author did it so much that I found myself confused and re-rea...more
Iskoçyalı'nın Gelini - Michele Sinclair
Bastan sona kadar büyük bir zevk ile okudum. Cok güzel ve tanıdık bir hikaye idi. Yazar Michele Sinclair Julie Garwood'un cok etkisinde kalmis. Gelin,Dügün karısımı bir hikaye idi. i recommend this book for anyone who is into Scottish romances. the characters personalities makes them feel real and the events that occur are pretty realistic. i had a few good laughs and a few moments where i "awwwed". this book kept me entertained and i read in less than a day

I would have preferred to give this book 2.5 stars but since that wasn't an option (and I'm feeling somewhat generous) I gave it 3. I love historical romance and was pretty excited to read this book. While the storyline had potential I found it to be quite underdeveloped and it took some time for me to feel any connection to the characters. The book was okay...but I'll admit I was rather disappointed with it overall. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen and it just didn't.
It's been a long time since I've read a barn-burning romance... so I was excited to pick up what appeared to be a highly rated scorcher.
I thought the storyline was thin. A good chunk of the first chapter tells the reader why Conor will never marry...Conor McTierney lays eyes on Laurel and immediately knew she was "the one"...and it went nowhere from there. Tempers flared, they kissed and made up and the story consisted of repeating the sequence with little substance in between.

A genuis I-can-spot-a-great-author friend, Terree Lyman recommended this author, Michele Sinclair. I read the book in three days, because it was completely enjoyable. I love the strong female character, Laurel and I love the gorgeous highlander, Conor.I can't wait to read about the rest of the McTiernays.
This was such a fun great read and can't wait for more!

I was very scared for Laurel. Conor found her covered in dirt and all alone in the thick forest. She did not give too much information to Conor about where she came from but he kept her safe from whatever she was running from. I love a good Highlander book and this book did not disappoint me!!
I own this book on my Nook.

The book is ok but the style of writing is not what I prefer. It has a good plot but it's not a page turner. I skimmed over pages and could still continue without a missing anything.
It was marked 4 stars, so there are quite of few people who have enjoyed the book. I think it just comes down to preference.

The plot was pretty good, but the writing was so bad that I had a hard time finishing it. There are ways to allude to details that do not require beating the reader over the head with them. I could have done a better job editing this, and I am far from a professional writer.

Don't let the crappy cover art keep you from reading this series (just put the book face down when you aren't reading like I do). It's a good series and lets you get to know the characters quite well. Enjoyable.
This is my 2nd Michele Sinclair book, having previously read "The Christmas Knight" (which I loved). "The Highlander's Bride" was a little bit of a let-down for me. The story was entertaining but the writing was a little amateurish (if that is a word!) or simplistic. I had loved "The Christmas Knight", but THB was her first book, and this makes me want to re-read it(TCK) to make sure my impressions were correct. I still want to read the next book in the series, to see how it is.

In need of a creative outlet, I began writing novels after my second child was born. A voracious reader of romance books and a constant dreamer of romantic plots, I was encouraged to put my ideas to paper. I soon found out I loved it...all of it!
