The government ups its game against Hyperion, attempting to discredit him in the eyes of the public and attack him where they feel he is weak. They also seem not to have learned anything from the fiasco that has been their involvement in metahuman affairs up to this point and still think they can play god with inhumanly powerful pawns. The decent writing and nice visuals cannot make up for the fact that, at the end of 18 issues, nothing is resolved, and it ends on a cliff hanger inviting you to read not one but two new books.

Addictive escapism ... much like eating cotton candy or watching sit-com reruns for hours ... at the last page I felt bloated, dizzy, and on the downhill slide of a sugar crash.
