This book made me wonder if I read the same book that the 5-star reviewers did.

What dreck!

I am by no means squeamish. I lurve the trashy erotic romance, I do, and the hotter the better. Unfortunately, Passion wasn't hot, it was merely profane. I have never read sex scenes that have left me quite so cold.

The plot, when we're treated to it, is fairly tight and satisfying. Valdez does create a sticky situation for the hero, forcing him to choose between his beloved brother and the woman he's grown

5 passionate, scintillating, erotic stars!

I absolutely loved this book, though I don’t know if I can put into words all the reasons why and do this story justice because it’s more than just a book...It’s an exciting escape into sexual fantasy, a touching love story, and a happily ever after to rival the best of them.

In her second year of mourning, lovely, young widow Passion Elizabeth Dare never dreamed she would be with a man again—and certainly not a complete stranger. But amids

“Your body ought to be pressed upon mine.”

This book was exactly what I'd needed: A mix of cum and tears.

The first half left me panting and desperate to call my boyfriend and demand he get dressed and come over IMMEDIATELY...while the second half was so heart-wrenching that my pillow was drenched with tears when I read the last sentence of the story.

“If you want to say no, say it now.” He shook his head. “

I was waffling between three and four stars but as sat here writing this review and reading back over my highlights, I realized that I liked it enough for four stars despite a few complaints.

I tend to really love erotic historical romances because they tend to have fairly original plotlines and let's face it...those lasciviou

To me, Passion felt like two completely different books.

For the first 10o pages or so, I found myself caught up in the incredibly vivid and passionate secret love affair between Passion Dare (the heroine's name is beyond silly, but I got used to it) and the intense Mark Randolph Hawkmore.

Literally from the first sentence of this novel, the sexual chemistry and heat generated by these two characters is enough to render a person speechless. Okay, it rendered *me* speechless at least. Ther

Well, I guess historical erotica really isn't for me :(
This was HOT, really hot, but also really really crude, the language and everything, I have no problem with that in contemporaries, but while reading this it just sounded WRONG. But this is my brain's problem. For all erotica lovers, even those who are not into historicals, you will love this one for sure!!

I am sad to report that I have reached the limit of my endurance for the pure tedium that is A Lisa Valdez Novel. Even the act of buddy-reading it could not sustain me.

IMHO -More pornographic than romance.

While there is a decent story here, it was almost completely buried in the graphic sex. The language was far too crude for me to enjoy with the female genitalia constantly referred to by the much reviled C word and every encounter referrd to as F***ing. Erotic yes. Romantic- NOT.

There was also much made of his "huge" instrument and it seemed almost pathetic to me how he could only fall in love with a woman who could take "all of him". The ensuing sexual enco

Good God this book was hot!

Seriously, I did not expect that at all!!!! I mean we are talking about historical romance genre! But this cookie was off the charts blazing fire!!!! I swear my ovaries exploded!!!!!! It was like the temp in my room was constantly too hot!

The writing... amazing!!!!! I want to quote the whole effing book!!!!

One of the best HR I have ever read! One of the best HR erotica I ever read!!!!

Passion is a vicar's daughter and a young, beautify widow. When she encounters the hero for the first time--in a public place and without introduction--she inexplicably abandons her standards of restraint and morality to have sex with this stranger in the very public setting (although out of sight).

Mark, the Eighth Earl of Langley, is a truly insufferable, selfish prick (really the only word that fits him, and I do not usually sink to such language in my rev
This book was recommended to me by a friend whose enthusiasm about the book was so great that I knew I must quickly get my hands on it and read it as soon as possible. I knew going into it that the book was supposedly very hot with some scorching sex scenes but at the same time had a great love story to go along with it. After reading Passion I can say with great confidence that it lived up to it's reputation and surpassed my expectations of it! 5 Smoking Hot Stars!!!

Excuse me while I recover from being scorched…

This was the first romance story that literally made me go, “Hot DAMN!” on the first words of the very first chapter. And then all tingly the rest of the way.

I know a lot of romance buffs are either indifferent to, or even disdainful of, erotica. And they can be justified sometimes—most of the stories in this genre are simply mindless sex, with most bordering on “perverted” liaisons. (Well, what may pass as perversions to some, in any case.) Another

Ooohhh I finished tis late last night and went to sleep a very happy woman, but wondering how I could possibly write a review that conveys adequately exactly how this book made me feel. I've gone over all my emotions and feel what you end up reading here may seem, well,...... oh make your own minds up:)

He latched, voraciously, onto one thick nipple and rolled the other between his fingers. Passion bit back a cry at the hard pull of his mouth.

This was a very good historical romance. I loved the interactions between Passion and Mark.

Yet she arched against him, offering herself as she threaded her fingers through his hair and held him close.

The minor characters and blackmail scheming made for an intriguing story that kept me hooked until the end.

My reviews are mostly my thoughts as I went with the book...

I didn't used to read erotica when I first read Passion but man, this was some great introductory book for me! When I first came across this one on a very ordinary day almost 2 yrs ago, I knew nothing about it; about all the debates of 'to read or not to read' or 'wow or eww'. I read no reviews, just picked it up because I was curious about the title ... So, when Mark saved Passion from that accident in the very beginning of the book, I
Well I can honestly say that if it hadn't been for trying to meet the goal of reading all of the AAR top 100, I would still been just as happy not having read this book. I can see why people had such distinct and varied opinions about the book. The first 1/2 read like a bad repetitive erotic historical. The 2nd half felt more true romance and wasn't so bad. I was unaware that a woman's reproductive parts could move like that...sounded completely painful and giggle worthy at times. I just didn't ...more

I loved this book. The ending was beautiful.
This book is one of those that causes quite a bit of heated reaction from readers- both love and hate. Whereas when I first read it I would have definitely fallen more in the former than the latter category- as I think back on it, I'm much more ambivalent about my reactions.

On the the one hand I found it, Sexy, explicit, and yes romantic I thought it was a good read. For me the plot seemed simple and intriguing at the same time. The conflict was not hidden- except from the two leads and I waite

What can I say but HOT! STEAMY! SEXY! OMG! I got pulled into the story from the very beginning. Though it started off like an erotic novel, the author slowly weaves the romance into the story. I was anxious, quickly trying to figure out when the main characters were going to find out that they knew each other more then they realized. I liked the heroine(but not her ridiculous name) and felt for her once she discovered she was in love with (the hero) and could not have him. I felt torn for her. H ...more

I picked up this gem after seeing it rated so highly among erotica fans. And let me tell you this is a hot and steamy. Passion takes naughty smexing and dirty talk to a new level. From reviews, I knew the c-word was common, but Lord Almighty that was just the tip of the iceberg. At times it was completely titillating and others a bit crude for my taste. However, somewhere along the way Passion and Mark’s story evolved into so much more than sex. It became the heart-felt love story about a man an ...more

I adore this book. If Lisa doesn't get off her keester and start writing more and faster, and get's her publisher to actually publish the ones she writes, I will eat a baby.
Not really. That's just a figure of speech.
I can definitely see how readers either love or hate this book! With that said, it’s been a while since I pulled an all-nighter reading a book. In fact, it's been a while since I have had so many emotions all at once while reading a book. Obviously, I LOVED it!

İlk okuduğumda ki yorumum;

I read this book originally about five or six years ago and loved it so much that it has been ever since in my top 3 favourite books ever. I've been doing a lot of rereading lately, working my way back through my five and four star books, and boy has it been fun, and I decided to reread Passion. I was a bit worried I wouldn't like it as much the second time, but actually found that I could see exactly why it is in my top 3 books ... and it's staying there. I loved it just as much this time as I ...more
The writing/dialogue is just ridiculous.

The book begins with Mark's hand on her bewbs. Bahahaha. Here's a snippet of their conversation in the first chapter:

M: "I told you I had what you needed....Look, it's crying to be inside you...Is your cunt crying, too?"

M: "Tell me, is your cunt weeping for my cock?"

Oh, and apparently he has a giant 10.5" schlong and blasts her cervix repeatedly.

Edit: I should add I read this book for the lulz because I knew it would be ridiculous.
