Recommends it for: people interested in animal welfare, their health, our planet Earth
This book and it's stories reminded and reaffirmed why I became a vegetarian. It was so interesting to hear others reasons why they became vegetarian or vegan and the ways they handle the inevitable questions and outright hostility we encounter almost everytime we have to eat around others. I wish I had sent my story in to be included but the authors are planning on putting more stories into more books like this and I hope to be included. I'm not a writer but this is one subject I am passionate ...more

Let me sum up every story in this book so you don't have to read it: "I grew up in a meat-eating household, then I had an experience with an animal that made me realize meat was a dead animal. I tried to go veggie as a kid but my parents didn't support me. I tried several more times during my college years and eventually it took." The end. Trust me, the stories aren't nearly interesting enough to be worth slogging through pages and pages of wildly uneven writing. Some of them are cringe-worthy, ...more
