Too Perfect (Perfect Trilogy #3)
Maddy, Christine, and Amy are thrilled that their old college suite-mate has written a bestselling book, How to Have the Perfect Life-until they realize she used them as examples of how women let fear screw up their lives. The worst part is...it's sort of true. Together they make a pact: each has one year to face down her fears-and maybe show Miss Perfect a thing or two.

In the final book of the Perfect Trilogy, Amy must get over her fear traveling by herself and getting lost. So to complete the bet made between Maddy, Christine and herself, she takes a job through her own nanny agency and gets on a boat as a traveling nanny for three children who are on vacation with their grandparents. What could possibly go wrong?

Three friends, lots of insecurities and fears, and a very steep learning curve are the subjects of this trilogy as well as this third novel in the series. All the women are smart, good looking (at least everyone else thinks so except them), and moving forward toward fulfilling careers. But their own inner demons are doing a number on them. This couldn't be more true that the heroine of this novel who has been plagued by difficult family circumstances, a lot of loss, deep grief, and a pervasive s...more
Before you start this book make sure you don't have anything "big" planned for the next morning because you will not be able to put this one down.
I have enjoyed all of the books in this trilogy, but this book is simply in it's own league. I was hooked from the first sentence, took every chance I could get to read a little here and there, and then was up till 2:00 finishing it.

WOW WOW WOW. I loved this book. The plot, the characters, the romance was much better than the first two books! I loved this couple Bryan and Amy were really just like the title say "too perfect" for each other. I am surprised I really liked this book since I hate to read about Hollywood stars finding love and etc... I always imagine the Hollywood boys to party hard and don't give a shit type of attitude but boy Bryan aka Lance aka Guy (wow so many people he disguised as)

After making a pact with her two best friends, Amy Pierce decides to face her fears and do something she’s always wanted to do – travel the world. Amy accepts a job as a “travelling nanny”, packs her bags and sets off for a two week cruise of the Caribbean. Trouble comes when Amy’s imagination gets the best of her and she finds herself stranded on an island watching the cruise ship sail away into the ocean with her credit cards and luggage on-board.

I read a few books over vacation, and one of them was Too Perfect by Julie Ortolon. A formerly chubby slightly agoraphobic woman gets "stranded" on a tropical island and becomes a housekeeper for a reclusive man who refuses to be seen. Just to win a bet with her friends. Sure, that sounds....totally plausible. Anyhoo, the "recluse" is actually a big, jaded Hollywood star who is gorgeous and sexy. Since we can't have a frumpy, chubby girl get the hottie guy, said girl undergoes a transformation.....more

In the final book of the Perfect Trilogy, Amy must get over her fear traveling by herself and getting lost. She takes a job as a nanny on a boat trip for 3 months. While the first 2 books in this series were VERY refreshing from everything else that's out now ( read my other 2 reviews) this one fell short for me big time ;(

This is the third and final book in the 'Perfect' Trilogy by Julie Ortolon and in my opinion this is the best one.
This book focuses on Amy as she trys to overcome her fear of getting lost, along the way she also faces other 'fears' of hers - such as her size and her ill grandmother.
I think Amys backstory is the most heartbreaking of the three, and it really shows the effect words can have on people and how slyly they can wear away at you.

A good read. But then another lack of epilogue. How did the press take in Byron and Amy together? Was it a scandal for months or what? Did Meme finally accept Amy for what she was and stopped bringing her down? At least I was happy enough about Christine's continued "epilogue" in this book. I also liked the first anniversary gatherings. I did sense a pattern in each book, though. Like on each of the turning point fights each couple had, there was begging of please don't go, and the steamy scene...more
This was my favourite of all three books. I loved Amy as a character, she's so timid and sweet and harmless. The way Amy describes herself made me think she was obese, but really she is a curvaceous woman. I liked the relationship between her and guy and it was lovely to see them both fall in love with each other, even though she didn't know what he looked like and she slept with him, still not knowing what he looks like, plus I myself would be mortified to be papped having sex on a sun lounger...more
Amy's story was the least compelling of the three for me, but I did want to finish the series. There were times at the beginning of the book where she was the classic TSTL - too stupid to live. It wasn't about her insecurities, that part resonated with me... it was the sheer stupidity and unwillingness to recognize her own lack of a sense of direction and apparent inability to tell time that really annoyed me. I thought the hero's story was really interesting, though, and unexpected, which was p...more
Among the three friends in the Perfect trilogy, Amy speaks most in my heart...and she's got the hunkiest man in all three books! Hot damn!
Story goes...after her two friends successes in conquering their fears after being made as an example on their roommate's self-help books, she takes a temping job on a whim--being a househelper to a reclusive man that just refuses to be seen...with good, cowardly reason. Here is the end of the trilogy, and I'm sad to see it end. While maybe the plot was a tisch far fetched, it was still a good read. The relationship of the 3 roommates continues in this volume and the ending, while maybe just a little on the HUH? side still works. I can totally identify with Amy in a lot of ways. I wear all my clothes two sizes too big (and yes, thank you, I know it makes me look heavier) and I love to cook. Now if I could just get the hero to take ME clothes shopping........ Tha...more
The last of the "Perfect" trilogy and my favorite. It was like a Cinderella story, a chunky woman who has a complex about her body, meets Hollywood's most gorgeous guy and gets her man. But hey, that's what fiction is for, make us dream that our fantasies can come true. I totally loved that the guys are the ones who plan the wedding and that they share into the friendship of Amy, Christine and Maddy. I wish I had friends like these, always there to be on your side. This one had even more email a...more
In the trilogy, I think this was the instalment I liked the least. It still makes for a nice and pleasant reading, but not so comforting as the first two I thought, probably because a few things irked me and did not seem realistic enough.
First : the heroine, Amy, was extremely highly insecure about herself, physically speaking as well as emotionally. She's been overweight for a very long time (from 10 till 30 approximately), then took herself back in control, lost 40 pounds, managed to do enough...more

When I read Just Perfect & Almost Perfect, I was not blown away but these books did perk my curiosity about Amy Baker's story. And I am so glad I read this book - it was the best modern rendition of the Beauty & the Beast tale.
Amy Baker is stuck on an island when she misses her cruise - penniless and possession-less. She wants so badly to go home, but she doesn't want to lose her bet and prove herself to be a loser. So putting on her girl panties, she takes up the post of housekeeper at...more

I loved this book. I really enjoyed how the author wrapped up each of the three stories from the trilogy at the end of the book giving us closer. The storyline in this book was very heartfelt. I could feel Amy's pain throughout being of the heavier stature myself. I could put myself in her shoes. I could also understand how she felt afraid to be pretty. I have felt that way quite a bit. The two main characters were really able to help each other come to terms with their fears and face their demo...more
3.5 stars. Another cute story. A low self esteem girl and a guy trying to find out who he is. The moral of the story it doesn't matter what you look like as long as you have a great personality you can find love. exactly how I feel. The only reason I gave it half a star less than the other story is because the beginning was slow. The first couple chapters was mostly describing what the surroundings looked like and I caught my self skimming. This one had more jokes in it than the other two.
Very fast read. It was handed down to me so I had no idea that it was part of a trilogy. Some of it didn't quite make sense to me but the romance was good. Only one major sex scene and it wasn't too graphic for those who don't like that kind of stuff. Kinda wonder what happened to her friends but then again not that strong of a book for me to go out and search for the other two. So a 3 star is right in the middle of this review which is what I feel about it.
I thoroughly enjoyed book 3 in the Perfect Trilogy. Amy Baker is conquering her fears, and takes a cruise as a nanny to the grandchildren of an older couple. Circumstances more or less beyond her control leave her stranded on the Caribbean island of St. Bart's. What happens to her there is the basis of the story. Without spilling the outcome of the book, I found it a bit unrealistic, but it was still a very enjoyable read. I loved all three of the Perfect books!
This whole series rocks, but this is probably my favorite of the three books. Amy, the chunky and more reserved of the three friends almost fails her challenge, but finds a way to salvage it but what she ends up doing is finding out about herself. I'm not going to give anything away about the book, cause it is a must read, but I was so happy with the ending. I thought this had one of those perfect endings that makes us women go alittle mushy.
Rating based on the fact that I knew going into this that it was a romance novel. "Pudgy" Amy gets stranded on St Barts when she misses her cruise ship and finds herself working for a "Beast" in an old mansion under renovation. Of course, the "Beast" is a famous celebrity hanging out and rethinking his wife as he recovers from a public break-up. A cute, fun story; perfect for when you don't want to think too hard and escape your regular life.
This was a cute little read. I liked the shift in point of view and how we knew that Lance was really Byron/Guy the whole time. I wish there had been a bit more build-up to the relationship, but I always wish there was more build-up. I liked how they were able to fall in love without vanity being an issue. I would have liked a bit more of an epilogue, but I am satisfied with the general happily ever after.
This is the only book out of the series that I read. I really liked it. My one criticism is the ending came up so abrupt. It felt like it was building towards this fantastic reunion between characters and then BOOM, it's over.
It should have been drawn out a bit more, But it was a really cute book. The cover art on this version was a bit odd though. Yet, I suppose it's better than the windsewpt maidens in the arms of Fabio.

Really wonderful book! Perfect ending to a fantastic series! My only complaint was the use of the word about. The word was used so much it confused me at times "she looked about the room" "he wrapped his arms about her" "she was about to cry" other than that minor detail this was a great book and I couldn't put it down!
Light and quick to read. Chunky Amy stranded on St Barts when she misses her cruise ship after being fired as a "vacation nanny". Gets a job as a housekeeper and falls in love with her mysterious reclusive employer who turns out to be a millionaire screenplay person. Highly unlikely story, but an entertaining quickie.
Oh yeah, glad I kept reading. Any story taking place in paradise as got me flipping pages. The old...guy camouflaging who he really is to the girl next door...kind of story makes me smile. You just have to adore books like this. Nice trilogy Julie! Think I'm going to stick with the third one as my favorite.

Most authors will tell you they've been writing and reading since childhood. Not me. I hated reading and never imagined I'd someday be a writer. Of course, the fact that I have dyslexia probably has a tiny bit to do with my aversion to the written word.
