First of all, Valerie Hansen is a very good friend, just so you know that up front. HOWEVER, even if this book had been written by a stranger, I would have enjoyed it. I gave it four stars as a compromise. Shadow of Turning is a five star romance but a three star mystery. That said, I really enjoyed this story of a small town in Missouri. The heroine Chancy is charming and quirky and her hero Nate is her perfect foil, all science and efficiency. I recommend this to anyone who likes a small town...more
